Had a few emails back and forth today. The headlight switch is a direct replacement unit and the pic shows the pin layout the same as a new VW switch I have at home. The colouring when lit up is like this- the round outer colour is green and the middle is red. Thats the same as OE isn't it guys? Can't remember at the moment. Just need to pay now!!! Gulp :gag: haha. Some more pics to help out-

Haha cheers mate. Nice and gently does it with a wide flat blade. That silicon sticks like a bugger!

Looks good Tim, Any chance the 3 scuttle trims under the wipers are in great condition and off the car? Let us know your super low price and we'll add them to the wipers. Thanks buddy.

Hi Tim, What is the condition and fit like of the Aero arms and blades please. Any chance of a pic? If all good, then yeah I'll go for them, include the rear one. £50 posted deal sir.

urgent help needed with tyres stretch , clearing arches, lowering , etc

Don't like the position of the small hole for redrilling, might be an issue for the machine shop. -
Have a look on Amazon.co.uk Bought my rear ones on there, £28 delivered compared to £60+ on ebay.

What am I getting my self into :bonk: Today I spent the day collecting all the parts needed to carryout the OBD2 conversion:dance: All came from a breaking late Golf VR6. Sure I've got everything needed and will spend my recovery time stripping the new loom down and checking against Nath's OBD2 thread of what I have to keep. Got the self amalgamating tape to make up the new loom. I have to admit I've got near to zero car electrics knowledge but feel confident to give this a good go, I think there will be a few scary moments along the way for me. You have to learn about these cars to get the most enjoyment out of them. Looking forward to the rollercoaster ride this will give me . Pics and progress coming up.......

Would it be more cost effective for you to sell them and buy 5x100 wheels in the same sort of style? -
Hey buddy, nice choice. Will look smart once their in. Give Robrado974 a shout as he has Porsche tombstone seats fitted, although he didn't fit them himself, he might have a pic of underneath. Or he could be really nice and lift a heavy lump out and upside down for you!

Hi Tim, Could you tell me what the Aero wipers are from please? Just to clarify, is it the arms and wipers you're selling? If the answer is what I'm thinking it is, I don't need the rear as mine has been deleted, would you accept £40 posted for the fronts? Cheers mate, Matt.

Chris Langdon's Moonlight Blue VR6 thread!!!

Hey no worries Chris, don't worry I'll be getting my head around my new collection of OBD2 parts :thumbleft: -
Jim, I've been told its the tread sticking out of the arch that causes problems with the MOT and the Police.
-
Show off!!! Haha, will be a great day I bet. You have to mention or shout out about Corrado's while you're there.

As said mate, the mix of wheel width, ET, spacer/ adaptors will not give you the under arch you want. Nothing to do with what size or stretch of tyres. Changing the amount of stretch will do nothing towards stopping the wheel or tyre hitting the arch. A 165 tyre on a 9" wheel would be dangerous. Police won't look favourably on this if it was on the road, you would get hassles off them. -
Wow that looks to be a bargain compared to people trying to sell cloth Recaro's for £1k alone.
-
Oh crap you still got them :splat:

Chris Langdon's Moonlight Blue VR6 thread!!!

Hey if there's a Rado party going on, then don't leave me out man! -
From the posts I've read about this guy, don't touch with a bargepole, even going to bargain with him, he doesn't sound like he cares enough about the customer to worry about bargaining. Avoid! There's enough cars around to find one off an enthusiast on here.

Thanks Jim, just the sort of questions I need to be able to make sure everything is right for us. I will ask that very question. The info I have so far states the VW part number for our switches as the one that relates to the new switch. And they do use the word replacement in their description of it. I will clarify this for you though. I've thought about what colour it illuminates as well since our last email. Any more questions you can think of guys?

I've just bought a couple old VW brochures, should be an interesting thing to look through.

Nice interest so far, just want to gauge whether there is enough to warrant the large outlay on the order first. Hardly going to be a surprise to you guys but here's a picture of a unit from the actual company. Looks just the same as OE to me and not made from cardboard and sticky back plastic :bonk:.
