  1. Oooh welcome back (possibly). To give you some advice you gave me... "Get it bought" :) Hope the back is a bit better now?
  2. Yay \o/ Thanks for posting up. That's my brothers M3 to the left and he's very much into his BMWs, hence popping along to the show with him. There were some very nice cars there and I was particularly taken with some of the 8 series. Did you go?
  3. I watched it on iplayer and thoroughly enjoyed both the content and May's presentation. I'll be watching again.
  4. I'd be asking him to remove the picture and replace with one on his car. If he doesn't then I'd be contacting ebay to advise them that the pictures are not of the item he is selling. Nothing wrong with him also selling a similar item but if the picture doesn't represent what he is selling then it seems a bit off.
  5. Well it's certainly garnered some comments in reply.
  6. Love these. I am a major fan of 5 door performance Golfs with the right gearbox.
  7. I cannot stand that prat Bieber. Just the sight of him annoys me. He's a total idiot.
  8. The perfect recaros in my opinion. Postage is shocking though but it's the swadlingcote guy.
  9. Sad, sad, sad. But I'm glad it was an easy sale. I hope you do still come to some of the shows at some point. Good luck with whatever you chose next.
  10. Hens teeth finding a corrado recaro seat motor. You may find that the motor could have been used in many recaro seats of that era though. Might be worth contacting recaro to check that, then look out for any cheap seats on eBay. Alternatively there are companies that can rebuild electric motors. Probably not cheap though.
  11. I have found that the late 90s and early 2000s era cars tend to be better built. Before that period things are a bit industrial and after that period the budget counting started. So a high end manufacturer such as BMW from that period would get my vote. My mk4 interior was very well built indeed and I recall being more impressed with my mk1 TT interior than several friends BMWs. Nowadays things look shiny and clean but the quality isn't there.
  12. Fantastic car and the best colour Storm... ...hides :D
  13. Blue corrado in Kingston this morning. Shortly followed by a Porsche 944, Lancia Delta, Mercedes R107 and mk2 Golf GTI within 10 minutes.
  14. That's beautiful. I love that too. I'm currently looking into the 90s Merc SL (R129) as they seem cracking value for what you get.
  15. Well I took a look and had a long test drive. He wants more than originally expected unfortunately (9.5k). Mechanically it seems sound and has a huge history of work done. Owned for 17 years. It was in generally good condition but a few marks here and there. It drove very nicely indeed but it certainly felt like a car from an older era even compared to the Corrado. As ever I was amazed how nice the Corrado feels when I get back in it. I think at the price he wants I will probably pass as there are other cars I would prefer at that price point although I'm not particularly looking for a new car.
  16. I am pleasantly surprised by the positive comments and was expecting a few "it's just an old car" comments instead. Now there is the dilema. The later W129 from the 90's is a cracking bargain. In pure drivers terms it's much. much better but loses out on the retro cool factor. Good call though.
  17. He mentioned "around £7k" when I saw him at the petrol station a few months ago but I don't know if that is what he wants now. I wanted to have a good look over it before discussing price. I've had a google and they seem to sell between £5k to £12k. It wasn't perfect of course and I only had a cursory glance at it before so I need to look at it in detail. But it gave the impression of a loved car. It really wasn't the sort of thing I'm looking for but it had a certain charm about it. The earlier cars sell for a lot more (which is a good indicator of possible future value, maybe).
