We're desperately looking for volunteers to organise meets. Are you volunteering? It's not exactly practical for us, who all live down in the south to suggest meeting dates and venues for an area of the country than none of us even know!

I think I ever got the means to get myself a 911 Turbo, my days of Corrado ownership would be well and truly over. Welcome to the forum! :)

Great result mate! Glad to hear it's transformed the car!! :)

First time Corrado buyer - looking to purchase this weekend
Jim replied to Aran's topic in Newbies Hangout
Welcome aboard! There is a buyers guide which is well worth a peruse: http://wiki.the-corrado.net/the_corrado_buying_guide_checklist.html The Corrado generally is pretty good in terms of rust and you only really generally tend to get rust come through from accident repair work - but other occasional problem spots are around the windscreen, the arches (the tops and where they come down and join the sill). You can also get it show up in just random little places so just poke around the car carefully. Keep us posted and let us know if you end up buying it! Timing chains being done is a big plus, and the heater matrix is a crappy job so another bonus :) -
The coilpack can just go like that though - so just one of those things! I've had my car working perfectly one day, and coilpack on the fritz the following day!
-
I dunno.. I mean for foam it is a rip off but knowing it's specific to the Corrado and stuff, it's not a TERRIBLE cost.
-
I believe you can still buy the original lining for a later bonnet from VW dealers - and it's not outrageously expensive either..

Welcome to the forum! Where are you based mate?
-
Good luck with it all!

Sweet. Sterling work, Neil.

Lloyds TSB were going to do this a while ago but the site where you signed up for it eventually vanished. Be interested to see how it turns out!

Rear chrome VW badge and rear chrome Corrado badges are now obsolete - you cannot buy them new. You can buy the rear Corrado badge in primer from the VW dealer however and spray paint it to match your cars colour with rattle cans.. Otherwise, as has been said - eBay for second hand items is your only option unfortunately! :(

The cars in the museum were in a less than impressive state.. the VR6 Storm had mud in the arches and bodywork damage :|

We saw these on the cabrio Corrado at the VW museum in Germany. Holy grail - factory tinted! Shame they never actually got made :(

Congratulations mate! :)

Only entertaining reaction I've ever had to a Corrado was some old dude in a Mercedes E320 - proper barge of a thing. Was out for a drive one evening in my old G60 and I came round a corner onto a little mile or so stretch of dual carriageway. As I went round this corner I noticed said Merc taking the corner on my outside, and barely hanging onto the road as it wallowed around (if you've ever driven the bigger Mercs, you'll know they're like boats!) - so as the road straightened I gunned it as the road was totally empty and so did he. I was really enjoying the little race and was slowly starting to edge away from him. I looked over expecting to see him enjoying the sprint too but he looked FURIOUS and was almost swinging off the steering wheel. In the passenger seat was some old crone (his wife I guess) gripping her handbag on her lap and looking dead ahead. We got to quite silly speeds and I was still pulling away before I realised this could potentially not end well so I backed off. Mental. I guess my old J plate G60 put up a bit more of a fight than he was expecting.

Really the only ones that work properly are as they left the factory. If you tint them, they're too dark quite often, and if you do them all red, it makes your indicators flash red. This is in my experience of having tried both all red, tinted and normal over the years!

Answer your phone! ;) ---------- Post added at 04:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:42 PM ---------- And paid - cheers dude :)

Don't worry - I knew he was being his usual perverse self hence the lack of a reaction. Besides, she'd crush him like a paper cup.

Agreed. This is absolutely brilliant work by Neil, and all I can say is THANK GOD there are enthusiasts like him working within VW/Audi group - cause frankly Volkswagen themselves wouldn't have lifted a single finger to help make this happen, the useless sh!tes. Neil - I'm down for: * Rear VR6 badge * Read elbow & seal I will give you a call after new year to arrange payment. Many thanks again for your hard work on this.
-
Well I'll ask the obvious question - have you tried the VW dealership? :)

Absolutely beautiful! -
No... tis a weird one. Not much promotion, and a distinctly non-primetime slot in terms of it not being on either Christmas or Boxing Day! I hope it's good!
-
A ticket to the British Grand Prix with my dad and my sisters fella, in July. Yes, I'm rather looking forward to that ;)

You mean like this? This is what I discovered on my car when I went to take it for a drive a month or so ago... thankfully had a new / old stock coilpack to put on and it's working fine again now!
