Oh Dear..... why do they feel as though they even need to try?

Haha :) be interesting to compare on a stretch of motorway or similar, for sure. -

They are very quick James for what they are, but the numbers will never lie - an R32 is 260BHP'ish? And ST's are only 197BHP, even on overboost. The chassis is *excellent* though - I think it might be a closer match on a twisty back road or a track :) Not had an occasion to put a friend in my Corrado, and see how it compares to my ST side by side yet though. Must try sort that out. -

Hoping to come along for this one :) -
I was looking at it thinking 'No way would I pay that' - then saw it is owned by Sir Stirling Moss. OK then :)

Hmm... the VR6 is a bit toothless these days and I'm always pretty wary of going against hot hatches given how easy it is to remap them to over 200BHP and beyond! That said I think my friend was rather disappointed - went out for a blat and he was in his Impreza WRX... and my old Corrado not only kept ahead but even started to gain some ground in a little sprint on my private road! :) I'd always heard their gearing and 4WD flattered them, but I guess beyond the traffic light grand prix, that holds some truth! -
In the wanted section, so guessing it's a wanted advert :)

Did you know about Roose Motorsport? They already patterned up the VR6 hoses from a group buy on here a couple of years ago..

Thinking the same. Want to take on some paid work on the side? ;)

Nice work mate :)

Agreed. If you get on well with them and are on good terms, pop next door and sound them out - tell them what you're planning and maybe you could come to some agreement about the hours you'd be making noise, etc?

Any idea if it's possible to get out an alarm installer to just certify an installation you've done yourself?
-
Well done :) The heater matrix isn't actually too bad a job if you take your time, label things, and keep all the correct screws together, etc. I did end up taking my dash out when I did mine, but it does seem since then a number of people have successfully done it 'dash in' so this seems to be the best way forward. Regarding the alarm there's a few well liked brands - Toad seems to be a reliable, perennial favourite. I think I have an Autowatch on mine and again it seems very well behaved.

Very nice indeed :) Wouldn't mind a blast down the road in one of the more recent //M cars! Had the pleasure of driving Pete_Griff's E39 M5 a few years back - the 5.0 V8 with 400BHP. I know what you mean, Rog... been under my skin ever since to want to get some proper German muscle in my garage!

Might be the same situation as mine. I think my dampers are dead or dying so they're not working properly and therefore it's really just the springs doing the suspension. As a result even mild potholes result in a hard *CRASH* and uneven roads are, as you've found, bouncy. I've had some terrifying moments on roads I misjudged thinking I was about to get bounced off the road. So it might be time to look at some new dampers!

Sorry mate - we don't allow 'offers' on the forum, at least without some kind of guide price. Please either set a fixed price, or if you want offers, it might be worth listing the item on eBay. Thanks.

Where did you get the springs from? :) I'm debating reverting my car back to OE suspension as my aftermarket combo is a bit broken. Went out in a friends original VR the other day and was very impressed at how it felt, and the ride height didn't seem too ridiculous. And are the dampers just Bilstein B4's?

Very nice indeed :) What dampers and springs have you used mate?

I might be a bit of an outcast here but I don't even have a TV aerial plugged into my TV! I make do with a NowTV box (£5.99/month), and then Netflix and YouTube via a Google Chromecast. I can also get access to iPlayer and 4oD via the NowTV so there's not much I can't watch! I don't really miss having 'broadcast' TV and certainly rarely find anything to watch on Sky whenever I find myself in front of a TV with it!

Decided to list on eBay. Thanks. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191606632348?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

What a **** take. Someone will probably pay it though.

That's one of the most comprehensive posts I've ever seen on here. A great knowledge dump based on a lot of experience. Thanks for posting it!

Bump with small price reduction. Want to get this moved on :) Thanks.

I guess this should probably live in Suppliers Forum so might move it in there later. Suspension on my VR is a bit knackered and after a ride in an original VR6 the other day I've become a bit more open minded to returning to OE suspension - cheaper than coilovers, nice ride, and honestly I'm sort of on an originality kick on my car a bit lately. Sachs dampers seem easy enough to find and plentiful but my thinking is the springs are going to be what make the car look like a Corrado Country, vs being an acceptable standard ride height. Any idea on the best place to pick them up and more specifically which ones I'd need? I notice from reading around there's all kinds of colour coding on the springs (2 pink dots, 1 green dot - for example) - does anyone know the correct ones for the VR? Thanks!

Guessing it's some RAF slang :)
