I have thought about one of those... wonder how long the cables are as I'd need to run it out of a garage door every time!
-
Cheers Ian but would be good to get one fully working I think :) Thanks though.

It's more that I don't drive it for weeks at a time and it tends to drain the battery down if it's not been fired up for 3 weeks or so. It's not kept in a garage near my house so I can't leave it hooked up to a trickle charger either unfortunately!

Hi.. Just wondered if anyone had one of the basic Sony cassette player head units kicking around that they didn't want any more? Since my car became a non-daily driver and because I disconnect my battery whenever my car isn't in use, I'm getting increasingly bored of having to set my head unit up every time I come to drive it - setting EQ's, DAB channels, etc :) I figure the solution is to just stick back in the boring old Sony head unit instead. Anyone? Thanks.

A friend of mine had one of the hot Cupra's... had it Revo'd which annhilated the clutch within the space of a thousand miles and also cooked an injector which obviously could have lead to larger issues! Not sure I'd be so keen on one myself based on his experience with it.

Think John Mitchell Racing sell AP Coilovers.. if there's a few folks on here wanting a set, he might do a group buy?

Worth mentioning that 2cc is half way through doing his heater matrix (he's been driving around without the heater box in the car for the last few months!) and he didn't need to take his dash out in the end. Stripped everything virtually, including the centre console, and that gave enough space to get it out.

Where are you? Guessing it's not the UK?

Was a fun weekend :) Still buzzing a bit from the parade lap!

Bump on behalf of the seller.

Get em both sold. Then buy a scruffy VR to start over on and tinker with in the evenings :)
-
Yeah - that's why I've owned four of them, and have had at least one Corrado on my 'fleet' for most of the last 14 years ;) Crap cars.

I think I understand where coullstar is coming from. The R32 engine wasn't exactly uncommon - just look how many other cars VAG put it into? The TT, the A3, Passat's, Golf's.. I think that will always hurt it's long term rarity / desirability some respects. I've never really felt any love for the R32 engine generally. I always loved the VR as it was reasonably quiet with a subtle grunty bellow, whereas the R32 was far too shouty and showy. I don't like the raspy exhaust note either. Look at something properly rare like the Golf G60 Limited - not even sure one of those would fetch 25k at least assuming you could find one! :)

Yep - the bolt itself that is attached to the heater box housing is threaded... so it should be unwinding itself. I didn't realise this and sawed my heater box out... don't make the same mistake I did! :)

There is a whole bunch of us in the area. Would definitely be up for a little get together.

Awesome. Would you be interested in taking on some paid work, and doing a bonnet, slam panel and front / rear bumpers David?! ;)
-
Guessing you don't have the time or the space.. and it pains me to say it.. but I think you'd make so much more money out of this car if you broke it for parts :(
-
They look like the rubber winter mats. I have a similar set for my Corrado.
-
lol :)

Well even though I knew about you going to see this car and that you were on the hunt for a Corrado again, I'm still thrilled to bits that you're back in one Dave :) Look forward to seeing the motor in the metal soon enough!

£100 for pre-owned HT leads?!

Given the spread of the coolant round the bottle, I'm more likely to blame the (known to be problematic) black expansion tank cap.
