    My Project.

Wow... amazing. Where did you get the uprated gear/ linkage cables from? we'll be keeping a close watch on this project 8)
  2. It would be nice if they developed new clear lights that not only looked better but, gave better light performance as well
  3. Its worth at least £8 m8... ifI were you I'd take more time to consider your options
  4. They fit the VR perfectly... htey even have clearance for the VW calliper machined out from the insides 8) BTW, mine are 16" with 45mm profile You'll ned to go with a 40mm profile tyre on 17"s Have a look at my avitar to see them on a c

    Ideas

Remove the windscreen washers from the bonnet & fit them to your wipers

    Low compression on #2

Yeah... I'd definitely get a second or even a third opinion. There's nothing as anoying as buying all the parts & paying someone to fit them just to find out later that the problem exists somewhere else. (Trust me, I know  ) Did you get a new chip fitted with the Schrick?

    wax on body rubber

Autoglym do a vinyl & rubber care product, I use it & its very good at restoring all the black bits. I found that using a square edged sponge to apply the product speeds up the process & keeps it all nice and even

    Roof Strips

I just trimmed the tatty rubber off mine, with a stanley blade & they now look nice & 'tidy :)

    THE Wheel page

    8) 8) 8) I like the way the centres are dished outwards to avoid fouling the callipers... sandy, I considered that style as well, (bit like the Peougeot ones) but my supplier could'nt get them
  10. The 'Superchip's can also be remapped. I know this cos mine initially gave little or no improvement to my engine. I took it back, got it remapped & re-fitted & hey presto... much improved driveability with slightly more bhp. In saying that, the dam thing cost me £260. not worth it IMO
  11. WOW1 the power of the internet eh...

    Wheel spacers

Well I was told that the original bolts would do upto 5mm, any more than 5mm would need special extended bolts (about £1.00 each) I would double check before fitting 5mm spacers...

    Wheel spacers

You don't need to put spacers on the rears as well but, they may look better & give better lateral traction. You can safely use up to 5mm spacers with the OE nuts. I have 3mm spacers on my back wheels only... just for appearance :)
  14. I'd say you've been given the wrong thing... I hate that
  15. Great car Mike, the interior looks very fine indeed 8) I always wanted a Mistic Blue Storm but, unfortunetely when I was buying they were all around £9 - 10k :(
  16. I'd suggest you forget about repairing the old calliper & get some Golf Mk IV ones (even second hand). They will fit directly onto the C (with flexable hoses)... then you'll have proper brakes & no more seizeure worries.
  17. You've really transformed that car Bally since you got it... it was a nice car to start with but all your little cosmetic changes have been done tastefully & the car now looks very cool indeed... I see you eventually got the rear light clusters tinted. Who done them for you & do you know what colour / code the paint is? Also, judging by the pics you only tinted the orange... is this correct & what colour do they now flash?
  18. Interesting indeed... I've read some of it but I'm tired now (Friday evening) so I've added it to my favorites :)
  19. You see!... I told you it wasn't illegal to drive with your fogs on in Ireland. :?: If the fogs didn't blind people, didn't crack & were totally legal... we'll call them 'Driving lamps' then, who would drive around with them on?
  20. I love black Mk2's & that looks like an exceptional version. Are those wheels taken from your Corrado?
  21. I don't mind people driving towards me with their fog lights on as long as they are set CORRECTLY, i.e. a low beam direction as they're supposed to be In the Rep of Ireland you are allowed to use your 'Fog' / 'Driving' lights all any time. All their 'Telecom Eireann' vans (same as BT in Britan) have their lights wired to come on with the ignition for safety. They're insurance premium has also reduced because of this btw. I didn't like the positioning of the fog lights on the C when I bought my first one but, they have grown on me. P.S. I don't drive with my fog lights on because I'm afraid people will look at me & say 'look at that w#nker with his fog lights on'..

    Poly Bushes

I have 'Powerflex' rear bushes in at the moment... One of my next moves is to take them out & fit a full set of (new) original bushes. I find the rear suspension is less forgiving with the poly bushes, other words I'd use to describe them would be rough, harsh, coarse, ignorant & a useless waste of money... hope this doesn't put you off m8, as its just my opinion on them.
  23. Its looking very well Mike. I'd go for option 3, as well. P.S. we should arrange a N Ireland forum meeting, maybe towards the end of the Month?
  24. 92,870... I'm taking it off the road in September for six months ( that should help to keep the miles down  )
  25. The car looks fantastic Lee... al mods tastefully put together... well done I especially like the wheels, arches & the rear end 8) 8) 8)
