That looks very interesting, thanks. Also thanks to the other advice - I'm discounting the Dremel now. I'll report on how the bucket of water and battery charger system works :) works just like the sites say it does ...pretty amazing really just be aware its line of sight only , so the parts will need turing , use hot water for better results and make sure theres a good strong contact on all the wires ....you will find the soda crystals near the washing powder at the supermarket , its under a pound for a large bag after a few mins you should see it bubble ..if not re check the connections then after a few hours or overnight if theyre bad , stiff brush and a good rinse /jet wash

http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/show ... hp?t=12686 http://www.instructables.com/id/Electro ... aka-Magic/ got a bucket of water and a battery charger? then try the above links , doesnt hurt plating or rubber etc and works just as it says , will completley derust the parts after a quick scrub and rinse

you say youve replaced everything but the wiring loom....kinda suggests theres something going on there doesnt it think id prob swap it over ...or at least take it all out and strip it back and have a good poke round
-
could you not have something welded to the remains of the bolt..see if will come out
-
theres a ebay seller boltmeup that has some flange bolts
-
notice that link i posted...has the correct style flange nuts they even have the little screws for the tb switches and voltage reg etc
-
it bolts to the gearbox and both cables go through the 2x big holes...its just the bushes they sell not the black plate from the factory its mounted in rubber bushes...which i guess flounder around when working the gearstick
-
oh and apprently you can get high tensile stuff in stainless ...dont know where , but might be a option if you want all SS P.S once you do a few bits its addictive and you'l spend £££ doing every last screw you can find
-
front bumper ones also hold up the front x member thingy ..id prob not do that just avoid stuff like brakes ,suspension , engine mounts ...anything that might kill you if it snaps lol ive done most of the cosmetic stuff in my engine bay..used these people for most of it http://www.stagonset.co.uk/fasteners?du ... 5051_12646

just ordered a set of these...not seen them for sale before , i know theres a few of use that aint happy with the shifting $20 posted to uk ..seems more than fair to me im not the seller...nothing to do with me http://www.shop.verdictmotorsports.com/ ... ductId=110

yeah should be fine if youve got the tools or dont buying what you need expect a bit of swearing getting the downpipe undone...otherwise its not too bad . you can always ask on here or other forums for help are you sure its not the oil cooler??

whats been done latley? are all service parts new /fresh
-
doubt its timing..bad timing would cause more issues when driving
-
half of that stuff isnt a mot fail though...might want to find a more honest garage leaky gasket dont matter , and niether does a rusty fuel filter unless its leaking
-
yeah its that easy...once the housing is out , should be 3x nuts holding fan motor onto the housing
-
for the price of aftermarket hose , just change it often whenever you have the spanners out /big service time etc i try to inspect mine for leaks fairly often...check it from a cold start as a hot engine dries out the leak and you might not see it
-
might be an idea to start your own thread rather than post on this fellas one the std airbox with a paper filter is dafest for the charger...g60s dont really whine or howl like some of the other brands
-
they dont run silent...there is some pulsing kinda noise from them , best have someone else listen if in doubt
-
yep id get another one..theyre not that expensive id also take a look at the threads and outer shaft that it fits on incase its ruined them as well id prob get a new bolt for good measure too
-
looks like its badly worn from being loose i just used a old serp belt and done it up with a normal rachet and socket
-
thats not a normal sound again...id not drive it until you at least know whats up , maybe take off the belt and spin up the alt and charger by hand see what they feel like the smoking needs fixing now ...it will catch fire  as if you hadnt realised the fuel can get onto the hot exhaust parts
-
pretty sure its just thicker insulation on the fat ones..no benefit really other than they look extra meaty
-
henny just to confirm ..by standard markings you mean the cast pointer on the rocker cover yes? would i be right in thinking one tooth advanced would move the power down ? ive got a feeling mine isnt revving so freely high up
-
right .. ive just went and changed mine to what i think darren is suggesting...one tooth on from yanards photos , re set the ign timing too cant decide if its better or not , not a massive differance tbh , sounds pretty nice ...possibly doesnt rev so freely at the top end although im not sure anyone else got any opinions on this? cant be that hard to get it sussed between us ?

i have pm'd before with no repsonse would be nice to hear from "the man " on here , im sure a few others would be intrested too
