removing that pipe makes lots of wooshing noises in the engine bay do you run the original air box or a cone filter ?
-
fitting the whole vw system would make it sound respectable ...i havent heard many non genuine systems that sound subtle apart from supersprint i assume the charger makes them hard to silence properly? :camp:
-

-

been in today , all good ...friendly blokes had time for a chat and seemed to know a fair bit about vw's like youd expect everthing is stripped off , its not the kinda place you wander around and take stuff off -
yeah got the engine support bar unsure where the proper engine lift points are on the g60 engine? any ideas
-
dont stress to much about getting the bay wet , theyre made to withstand driving through puddles and its good to rinse off any road salt thats got in there cover the dizzy and ecu , and dont direct water onto anything electrical take lots of pics if you are worried about putting it together , it does help alot taking stuff like the airbox , battery and washer bottle out i find it best to use a combination of cleaners , what one misses the other one gets , then some poundshop carb cleaner and a toothbrush on any grimey elec connectors once its done , wd40 all the elec connectors and grease the bonnet catch , cable and thrott linkage etc
-
you says its just a bit worn ? maybe consider a diy dye kit , ive used them with great results www.furnitureclinic.co.uk heres some pics, costs about £35 ish before prepped notice most of the cracks were in the old dye..its sanded nice and smooth after side by side with the un dyed one
-
just tie it up with some string or something yeah?

its a fair sized place , heard nothing bad apart from the prices what dodgyness have you heard off ? -
autosmart 101 cleaner very good for this kind of thing...about £10-15 for a 5ltr bottle that dilutes enough to last 10 yrs on alloy bits like gearboxes and inlets...use some strong alloy wheel cleaner to freshen em up
-
i meant to say , the large intercooler from a vwgolf rallye g60 does a splendid job , and can be made to fit reasonbly easy ,but they are jolly expensive
-
biggest one you can fit...rallye ones are nice but ££££££££

-
didnt notice massive gains on mine , if you dewedge it they become jumpy at low speeds
-
theres a notch on each shaft that line up with a line cast into the housing, iirc it all lines up at 12 o clock position turn it a couple of times and recheck before starting
-
fit the dump valve in your nearest wheelie bin , they work best there
-
dont think theres alot he can ajust on it tbh , it sorts itself out id spend the money on some tools instead , bung a local garage £10 to whack the emmisions sniffer up it if your that worried
-
put the voltemeter on the signal wire...once warmed up it should cycle between 0.1 - 0.9 volts every couple of seconds

if you post a pic of what you have next to a ruler or something i can have a guess at what gauge it is for example i redid my distributer loom and it matches up to 9.75 amp stuff pretty well from that site or you could ask if they can suplly a off cut in each size for you to compare
-
http://www.autosparks.co.uk/index.php?c ... ii20gtrk81 theyre cheap and have nearly every colour you can need , dunno what amp you need , best match it up to whats its going on ...
