anyone else got an opinion on this? i must admit the rocker cover molded on pointer and the 2 dot method looks just like what the manual suggests i cant see they would mark it all up to use a rubber gasket as a guide? might have a fiddle with mine in the AM as its still a bit strange
-
nah i aint got none laying around it shouldnt be a problem to find something mate...dont stress try part co in bury...see what they say what clear coat u gona use?
-
what u gona spray u bodger? what do you mean 1k as such? ordinary old base coat always mixed with thinner such as this http://auto-paint.co.uk/carpaint/index. ... t&catId=41 talk to me before you order stuff....dont want you lousing it up do we
-
g60s are loud cars...id suggest either a vag or supersprint exhaust to make it a sensible level consider a cat 1 alarm to help keep it safe
-
another option would be looking into what vag want for a fresh bottom end...theyre not too bad for some models, at least youd know its right
-
yeah easy job,you will need a 1/4 drive socket and extension to reach the bolts near the gearbox end and dont over tighten the bolts when re fitting..it can bend the sump
-
why do you think warm weather would cause a plug lead to make it misfire? gets pretty warm in there year round when the engine is running dont have a pic but its much the same as any other lead...clips onto the top of the plug and the rubber part is a snug fit in the head
-
right played around with it some more and it felt like it was better with the o2 disconected so ive purcahsed a bosch universal sensor and it seems to have fixed it...seems to go a bit better too
-
id maybe try another place for the wheel alignment...alot of places check it for free then charge if you need ajustments, did the original place check and ajust camber? alot of places cant and just ignore it be worth crawling under and doing a spanner check incase anything has worked lose too
-
right just been for a drive with the knock sensor unplugged ...seemed better and i could hear pinking around the revs where it bogs so im guessing the timing wants backing off some more , and the knock sensor is doing its job...or can they pull too much timing /be over sensitive?
-
theres a cam belt how at the top of the page
-
mine doesnt start
-
yeah good point on the bts..is there a way to test it as its fairly recent and a genuine vag
-
my g60 hasnt felt right in ages feels really wrong under 2800, it bogs /stumbles and feels really flat and wont wake up until 2800 all service parts, timing , cam timing is all good , and its been at pitstop for him to check it over for said fault and he said the map is fine any ideas? its not a fun car to drive at the moment im half thinking theres alot of timing being pulled out maybe? make any sense?

decent jobs are really £2000 upwards
-
idealy get a tin of panel wipe for cleaning up...or do a final wipe over with some isophroprly ( god knows how you spell it ) alcohol
-
the upol etch primer they sell is pretty decent
-
while its true that you need plastic primer on bare plastic...not using it wouldnt cause it to crack and craze, it would just flake off easily when hit/jet washed might be worth grabbing another brand of paint..im thinking its not liking each other ...but all the dodgy stuff needs sanding right off
-
pics would help too much paint in a short can cause cracking , or is it over a less than perfect repair? for now id suggest you sand back to metal/plastic and start again with light coats, let the primer sit a couple of days or more before painting, could also be a miss match between the primer and top coats im happy to advise on msn if you need more help
-
id flush it with the hose then refill with plain water and go for a quick drive so that it flushes right through
-
