okay they guy that made the cable end has agreed to make some more...you can deal with him direct ive started a thread here with contact info and some fitting tips from david viewtopic.php?f=25&t=66959
-
dunno really...if you can afford the dyno time to test them all maybe the wur mod is simple and works pretty well...so id go with that
-
^^the standard 16v one is vac operated
-
actualy most of the cgti peeps get the wur (warm up reg) modified to suit as the added capacity will probably need more fuel at high revs any good rolling road should be able to sort it, stealth is popular for this mod
-
no the belt doesnt control the fueling yes its worth getting it rolling roaded...expect to pay £60 upwards depending on if it needs much setting up
-
just a polite suggestion oilman why dont you write some vw /rado specific thoughts on oil choices? instead of the random stuff you posted up there maybe a choice from opie for those on a budget /meduim budget/track use etc and some gear oil chat wouldnt go a miss...we all know redline helps tired boxes alot, are there any better choices or cheaper choices etc :hitler: :hitler:
-
id also suggest the damp cloth and some heat if the position allows...put a heavy book or something on the damp cloth to try and flatten it some :hitler:
-
does it still crank nice n fast when its hot mine sounded like the battery was getting flat when hot....beefy starter leads cured it
-
Well theres another option, but im not sure if this is any good, haven't heard much about it. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gruven-Stainless-VR6-Cable-Gearbox-Short-Shift_W0QQitemZ130205176819QQihZ003QQcategoryZ9889QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 that only reduces the side to side movement...

so are these sticky vynil on the back of the perspex like old 80s/90s plates or sticky on the front like new ones?

Gearlever bushings replaced, short shift and selector towers
steveo29 replied to davidwort's topic in Drivetrain
im running it without the weight now..and ive got a feeling the later tower reduces side side slop a bit too, id considered knocking up a side to side reducer like the gruven one but after considering it i feel the gears are close enough already -
Gearlever bushings replaced, short shift and selector towers
steveo29 replied to davidwort's topic in Drivetrain
the early gearbox towers were rather crude , david got me a later passat tower that is much inproved over the early ones, it made a fair differance to the quality of the shift straight swap too -

does the buffer on the left side of the stick actualy rub agaisnt the shifter box when selecting 5th? mine looks a tad close but i cant see anything wrong -
get redline mt90 you'l have to mail order it but its very good can you get a pic of the shift tower on the gearbox, mine was a very early one ..i swapped to a later version and along with the oil and new bushes etc and a few tweaks here n there its pretty acceptable now
-
is that oil fully syn? if not that wont help...redline or vw's own syn oil seems best id consider rebuilding the gearstick end of things...davidwort did a nice up recently, it improved his alot
-
http://www.corrado-club.ca/forum/viewto ... 861658e3d4 info on there...you need to move the pivot point , some cutting and welding is involved
-
what oil did you put in it? it really needs to be a fully syn to get the best change especialy on cold days have you made any attempt to replace any bushes in the linkage , lubricate or ajust anything?
-
gearbox breather i think...its not a lube point

1.8 16v misfire - rocker cover gasket, dizzy, leads?
steveo29 replied to ben16v's topic in Engine Bay
if its still popping and banging , id consider the hall sender mine did the same and another dizzy fixed it -
yeah should be better than a kick in nuts...they cover the KR kjet engine and most of the running gear /brakes is near enough/same to get an idea what to do
-
loads of gliptone on ebay...not sure the high st shops have it
-
shouldnt really go under 13.5v ish with it all on...sounds like the brush pack /regulator is tired
