Excellent, I'd still be a little nervous though...! Another one today, a colleague saw me getting in after work and said "Wow, that's a real blast from the past isn't it?" with a big grin :D
-
That's looking great, makes me a bit more optimistic about what can be achieved with mine :D Is that exhaust cutout stock? Looks different to mine - but then it might just be the effect of clean paint and no rust..!
-
With yours that makes four different fittings for 'the same' caliper, I wouldn't feel too bad! Mine were the coarse thread (1.5mm) which didn't come with C&R's kit but they sorted me out in quick time :) Stone

If it works at all it will be because it's eating the alloy, surely? If it didn't then it wouldn't be able to clean the corroded top layer. Another coat for blasting and powdercoating here, easy and cheap with known good results. Or you could go for a combo, my wheels are black powdercoat with silver paint over the top and a clear powdercoat over the top of that, they look the mutt's nuts :) Stone

SpoonFedTuning One Piece Lower Windscreen Trim Group Buy

Just wanted to check, has my order been sent yet? Looking forward to getting them on :) -
Mine doesn't talk to the ABS controller even with the port changes you describe. Like I said, it varies ;) For the price of a couple of pints it's worth a punt though. Stone

I have a set of Bosch 928S on mine at the moment...on Lupo arms ;) They're exactly the same as the Lupo GTi ones, and both are the same length but the mount on one is offset as described. The part number includes the S on the end btw (it's not a plural) - maybe you have the wrong set? Just for the record (I'm saying this is as many threads as possible so it sinks into the collective consciousness!) the correct combo for Lupo wipers is 2 of the Lupo driver's side wiper arm, one with a Lupo driver's side wiper, which goes on the Corrado passenger side, and one with a Lupo passenger side wiper which goes on the Corrado driver's side. Silicon Hose kits for VR6 from Roose Motorsport

No, sorry. I'll ask next time we speak. ---------- Post added at 6:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:47 PM ---------- (That was to Craig BTW!) VR6Pete: no firm pricing yet but I'm expecting around £250 before discount. -
An identical unit is regularly sold on eBay for I believe an older version of Ross-Tech's software is available as freeware which works just as well for the basic sort of features you need. Stone

Silicon Hose kits for VR6 from Roose Motorsport

Quick update - sent the hoses off this morning for guaranteed delivery tomorrow, Paul's reserved a guy to make the tooling so the first sets should be shipping early next week. Everyone that identifies themselves as part of the group buy will get a discount of 15% from the RRP (I'll update when I know what that will be) and postage & packing will be £5. I've provided a picture of the Golf kit with the extra hoses marked (updated to include the third hose we need, thanks for spotting that!) so Paul will know exactly what to produce. You are getting a 9-hose kit. I'll update again when I know the prices for the kit and set of clips. Stone -
Every time I mention it people get confused, I always mean isopropanol :) Cleans and degreases so well I never use anything else, and dries with no residue. Pepsi is definitely phosphoric acid, even says so on the label :)
-
That's because both Coke and Pepsi are dilute solutions of phosphoric acid. Use proper acid instead (citric works well, you can buy it in bulk online) and you won't get nasty sugar deposits on everything! Caustic soda works wonders on aluminium but you can't leave it in too long or it dissolves...

I've been offered money for mine before, I only got it last August! ;) I work on the basis that for everything I fix / replace it's been upgraded - the more 'issues' I find the closer it'll get to being a nice show car. It had already been extensively fiddled with by the previous owner so it wasn't ever going to appeal to a concourse-seeker - but I'm quite happy with the mods I've done and I think it's a better car for it :)

Thanks chaps, good job I checked! When I hear back I'll amend things. I'll get them posted out on Monday and it shouldn't be too long after that :) Also apologies for mislabelling that hose, I must have been having a brainfart. I meant the one from the bulkhead side of the inlet elbow that disappears into the block as you've quite correctly worked out. So much for clearing up the confusion  -
We've got a set now thanks to beastie4126 :D Thanks anyway though.
-
What's the correct method to get the back on again? I still haven't figured it out  The way I've been doing it the front peg doesn't clip on properly so the pointy bit sticks out.

Pictures of door triangles with tweeters in them?
Stonejag replied to Portent's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
True, but also one of them didn't work (and they've gone obsolete at Alpine) so they needed changing. Much better now I have stereo again! -

Right, this should clear up any confusion. I've just been to Keith's and picked up his hoses - he truly is a lovely man :D Here are the hoses he had: As you can see, there is only one oil cooler hose because one split when he was removing them. Luckily, the exact hose we need is in Roose's existing Mk3 VR6 kit! They also have the PCV breather from inlet to PCV valve in that kit so I am planning to ask for that as well, because it's in a prominent place. I am not going to get the second breather near the inlet made up since you'd have to cut the tube in half to put the check valve in the middle, you can't really see it, it's a pain to install and it will drive the price up. If you really want it you can order it separately from the Golf VR6 kit (top middle, above the PCV -> inlet hose). Here are the hoses we need from the Golf kit. Since we are including all the coolant hoses, but only one of the two breathers you get in the Samco kit, we are getting 8 hoses. When Paul gets back to me I'll update this thread with the RRP and if we got any extra discount from splitting the first-kit discount across all the orders. Once the tooling is finished you'll need to order directly from Roose - ring them up and identify yourself as part of the group buy, they'll take your payment details and then send your hoses direct to you once they're ready. I've also asked him to return the hoses with my kit so my nads are safe! Hopefully everyone's happy now. Shouldn't be too long before we're up and running :thumbleft: Cheers, Stone -

If you look on their website they have a promo video with a shot of them making tooling - they bend a metal rod while comparing the angles to the original, it's not like they take casts or anything. If they damage them I'll buy you new ones, how's that? ;) No need for ballchopping! -
Automatics do have two more feeds from the coolant system (feed and return from the transmission fluid cooler). The front feed is teed off the small hose at the bottom of the thermostat housing (goes to the base of the expansion tank) and the back feed is teed off from the radiator top hose. Those pipes are definitely not for an automatic. No idea what they are for though! Stone

You lot are mad, I just this morning returned my dash speakers to stock because the previous owner had done this to them! I replaced them with some Pioneer tweeters out of a Mk3 Golf GTI at the scrapyard, cost pence and they aren't taking over the dash any more :) Stone -

PM sent :D ---------- Post added at 5:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:41 PM ---------- Right, so I'll nip around to Keith's in the morning and get his hoses, get them sent off to Roose and he'll make the tooling up. Then he'll work out the pricing and can start making the first kit on...Wednesday or so? Shout if you want in because they're only doing one set of tooling - so they can only make one set per day and there'll be a long queue :) Everyone should get theirs well before Samco would have got back to us though!
