Nick, that's a Friday! But if we're not bus might take time out and pop up again. Had a laugh with Kev & Jim on Saturday 8)
-
the vr passed mot no probs took the 16v in for new brake fluid today cos can't be bothered to do it myself and now have all the new suspension & steering bits stashed in the boot ready to fit next week.......
-
ah, nick that reminds me of a fav line "just because you're paranoid don't mean they're not after you"
-
Sorry mate, couldn't resist
-
Having a docs tidy up and realised my VR's MOT ran out 15 Mar  Booked in for tomorrow. So have just washed, shined and spruced up interior all ready.
-
Joe, was that by way of an offer by any chance? Kev, is there going to be a GB on a T shirt
-
Whoa dinkus, that's definitely in need of some surgery. What we need here is a 'how-to' do the job :) :)
-
I'd blow you a kiss but I'm a bloke..... What we need here is a penpal thread Girls? :luvlove:
-
John, still sad, but can't help smiling when I remember blasting past you in the 16v, in the wet, on the way to Inters and recognising your plate. :)
-
Ha ha, I'm going with 5 too. Well, saturday will be interesting. I'll bring my ear defs cos I'm not carrying the d'mat, and I'll leave the tool box at home.
-
Could it be the sun shining out of his a**e? :)

Generally I tend not to go public with my thoughts, I used to save it for people on the carpet in my office. But I feel the need to say that we are all the poorer for this. I'll try not to repeat what others have already said but Kev going will be a great loss to the forum. I hope the detractors are happy now, but they certainly have nothing to be proud of. You know who you are, and if you want to spend your time backbiting then nobody can stop you, but on a personal note I would be greatly pleased if you would just s t f u. And if that offends you then its probably a gulity conscience! Now please excuse me while I go outside and give my C a great big hug. Rant over. Now lets all be friends, use the place nicely, and help each other.

Owww. Hate to read these things m8 but very glad you are pretty much in one piece. Not looking like a good week this.

After driving Yandards valver yesterday :) :) - many thanks - and realised how AWFUL my present front suspension is (Koni T/A inserts & Eibachs) have ordered new Koni T/A full struts and a set of H&Rs. Also had a shufti at the top mounts (why do vag call these 'suspension strut storage'?) which don't look too healthy at all despite having been replaced so they are destined for the bin. Also have a list of other stuff to do now so might be on this thread a bit more soon :)

Riley Hope the feds throw the book at them, but then the courts will probably let them off cos they didn't have a teddy when they were kids! Got the valver running again after 5 mths (can't believe its that long) in the yard. Spent a day de-rusting the discs lol, and the batt did not repond to recharging so had to get her a new one. Washed her, but needing a full clean and polish though. Met up with Yandards and compared his Koni T/A H&R set up to my Koni T/A Eibachs which crash and bang something horrid and I just HATE driving her. So the Eibachs are for the bin (unless anyone wants them once they're off) and H&Rs here I come. Missed you all at BVF :(

Don't really like to ask, and its not a C, but......... Not sure best place to post, but opting for the 'secure' bit. Daughter in law's 4 door P reg Golf GL in Monmouth (so not too handy for me to look at it) with c/l and a 'typical' VAG alarm (don't know the model till I get my hands on the thing). With alarm set, the rear driver's side window (the others always stay closed) will randomly open; sometimes only 1/2 inch, sometimes fully. Happens more often in hot weather. All windows open/close normally using interior switches and using the door key function. The alarm doesn't have the full or window closure function so I don't reckon it can be a problem with that. Also don't suspect a pneumatic leak as would expect that to affect the whole system rather than one window only. So probably an electrical snag. These intermittent things can be a real pita to trace, but I'm assuming that the Golf and C have the same c/l system, so just wondered if anyone has had a similar snag and can offer any suggestions before I plan a day trip. Cheers all

Having a gentle drift home down the Wye valley in the sun yesterday and saw 2 in Tintern. One parked up, the other then followed me to Chepstow. I waved out the roof, hazards on and off a few times and totally blanked me. Miserable git! Seems to be a growing trend, what's happening? No-one here I hope.

You're right Chris there's only one plug. I have experienced problems with reconnecting it in the past when most things seem to work but the odd thing doesn't. Haven't had your symptom, but you could try disconnecting and reconnecting it again to see if that cures it - its a pita to get at though isn't it which is why it might not be hooked on properly.

What, the panda or the g/f
-
How long did that take you then Kev?
