You must not talk to passengers either, thats almost as bad as talking on hands free. Maybe a large spike or red hot branding iron sticking out the middle of the steering wheel would help reduce collisions.
-
In the 5 years I owned it, I never noticed it on mine! I'll have to try it in my C.
-
Hmmm, funny electrical gremlins. In a Mk2 Golf a mate used to own, with the ignition off when you pulled the indicator stalk towards you and held it putting main beam on, the heater fan would run.

Have a look at this thread for more info on bushes http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... c&start=15 VAG part number for Corrado rear bushes on a 16v - 191 501 541 as you put. They are the same as Mk2 Golf ones.

I came from a Mk2 8v GTI too and agree the valver feels flat compared with that. I think you may miss the grunt of the G60. Other than that it is a good reliable engine which returns good fuel consumption.

Sounds pretty cheap to me. Have you checked out eny of his previous work to make sure the quality is up to scratch? If it is go for it.

Looks a little like mine. It's got the same head unit too.

Have a look here for help making a decision between polyeurethane and oem. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 1&lighter=

It would also not be running if totaly knackered.

Not too bad to do especially with the engine out. Not sure of the cost I don't think they cost very much.
-
Yep, its all std timing marks as its all standard VW bits.
-
KR inlet, exhaust from either - they are the same.
-
I have new OEM rear bushes, OEM front top mounts and Bugpack Polyeurethane wishbone and anti roll bar bushes. The Poly bushes made no noticable increase to NVH, so I'd go with them.
-
Thats the impression I have got too from reading up on the subject.

My mates Leon is very refined and comfortable on a long run to be honest. Certainly the TDIs gear ratios make for very lazy cruising. It's a matter of taste I suppose, I've always liked BMWs but went in a 320 TD the other day and I actually prefer the Leon.

A mate has a Leon Cupra 150 TDI coming up to 30,000 miles - no engine problems yet, he loves it and is definately converted to diesels.

Mine has a green top tint

1.2mm springs to mind, I'll check at the weekend and post it.

In the Haynes manual it gives a maximum lateral movement for the valve to enable you to check for guide wear, not that it will help you much now. How many miles has it done? My old 8v Golf has covered over 200,000 miles on original guides and does not smoke at all. At just over 130,000 miles I had the head off it and the lateral play in the valves was still in tolerance - just.

Squad Of Storms (or whatever the collective noun is)
corradophil replied to steveh's topic in General Car Chat
Storms are actually more common than Corrados :? -
Mine has Pilkinton New Zealand on it... In 5 weeks I saw one Corrado in NZ, so I doubt very much it would be imported from there.

This is the breather hose, its an easy job to check it so worth a try before pulling the engine to pieces. I've heard of lots of peoples cars smoking because it is blocked, once cleared it stopped. However I haven't experienced this with any of my cars.
-
Check your crankcase breather system is clear?
-
I can double check at the weekend if you like, but I'm 99% definate mine has no vacuum pipe to the ECU - the only connection that I remember is the multipin electrical one.
-
I agree, but I didn't like the MK4 when it was released, but I do now. Maybe it will just take some getting used to.
