Hi is the spoiler switch meant to illuminate. Thanks
-
I was hoping that was my problem but unfortunately it did not resolve it.

Wish I had found it earlier I forked out £200 and something for a new binnacle circuit last year from Classics! From memory though they only had the Golf MK2 available when I looked so a new product on the market, think I might still buy one as have the old unit still so will be a good spare. My old one the first digit would only show half the number intermittently so I guess it was starting to fail.

Anyone got a failing MFA display screen ? Below link has the repair. Came across this company in Germany whilst looking for some gear cog wheel for my mechanical odometer on my Golf- just need to determine how many cogs it has I think 21. Here is the screen. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DISPLAY-FUR-VW-CORRADO-53I-PASSAT-35I-T4-MFA2-BORDCOMPUTER-KOMBIINSTRUMENT-VDO/173961555902?fits=Model%3ACorrado&hash=item2880eaafbe:g:8nUAAOSwPa9dpuXM

Mines in for body work at the moment, the owner of the body shop has owned a MK2 golf for nearly 20 years and knows the cars backwards so was ideal for the job, another lad that works there owns a VR6 Blackberry with a Vortex supercharger giving out 320 BHP. My car has had a respray at some point and looks good, just had a scab on the rear water jet and needed some of the arch trims replacing- I decided to take all the arch trims, front and rear bumpers off and the sill trims for a full inspection. There are a few bits that need attending to , trims can hide a multiple of sins, also as mentioned the door hinges. Got all the bumper irons/brackets powder coated with new clips and bolts. After the body work just the headlining to do which I have a fibreglass panel and some replica OE headlining from Heritage, then restoration completed ! Has already been to Stealth for engine and undercarriage renovation, people don't realise Vince has a owned a couple of MK2 Golfs and has a soft spot for them - I was very happy that he complimented my golf as the best one he had driven in many years. The 4 doors are still available but the three doors are unfortunately obsolete. I have noticed compared to the Corrado world some of the sellers can be a little misleading and I have sent a few items back to sellers. There is a red 3dr been broken in Cornwall, cannot give the seller a reference as never done business with them . https://www.facebook.com/groups/1374372119443036/

Hi is the link working now chap or anyone else confirm ? Thanks https://photos.app.goo.gl/KofL9bRESGSeZJv47 Sure not long did my wind deflector . Took mine to the powder coaters to be dipped in saturn black, the black plastic clips on the end that houses the arms are an absolute bugger to get off and also obsolete , managed it in the end with chunks out my fingers missing ha. I went for Eibach and B4 Bilstein 20 mm lower, took off the headers and went for a brand new OE mani from classics as found the headers far to droney for me, almost gave me a headache (signs of becoming an old fart unfortunately). I really want a 911 again also but cant bring myself to sell the Rado as it's such a rare car, I went to Caffeine and Machine a couple of months back and the owner of the place got me to park it by the door and didn't charge me an entrance fee, proper car folks really do hold the car with high esteem and seemed to be more popular than any 911 on show there. The plus sides on the 911 320 bhp out the box and rear wheel drive, lots of other pluses to but the bills on these cars can be huge from my experience, sort of worth it though. What is wrong with your drivers door mate I just got my hinges re welded and new pins and hinges, all the doors for sale seemed to be in worse conditioned so was the best option at the time.

How come you have never fixed the car ? I imagine it has pretty low mileage ?
-
Congratulations good to hear the car has gone to a good home.

Ah Ok didn't realise you was on an island . A certificate comes with the immobiliser when you order it off ebay and then the fitter who should be registered fills in the certificate so your ok you can buy your own immobiliser chap .

Might be worth buying a Toad Ai606 (£114.00) and getting a trained fitter to remove the old one and install the new one, most will charge just over a £100 in labour if you take the car to them . Used parts are getting very expensive on these cars and I can actually start seeing classics getting stolen more often as thieves wise up to this . A none immobilized Corrado would be very easy pickings for them and for the sake of a Couple hundred pounds its peace of mind and you'll get the old one removed. Might also help your insurance premium. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOAD-Ai606-THATCHAM-CAT-1-CAR-ALARM-INSURANCE-APPROVED-CERTIFICATE-TEC-SUPPORT/290329751409?epid=716189572&hash=item4399006f71:g:2AIAAOSwFTRTpJoe

Mk2 golf, Corrado, 911 the dream team trio totally agree. I would like a 911 again a well sorted one but couldn't justify selling the Rado as spent just too much money on her , its like a wife you can't divorce because it would cost too much ha. You need a 16v Mk2 though mate wink wink. Just worked out how to use google images. Here is my Golf. https://photos.google.com/u/0/album/AF1QipOYXqpu05hYu18qfjH8BMIu9IhZz2EW-D_4E4TT

Just an update I found out that the late 1 opening grill rather then the three was to do with emissions to let the engine warm up quicker.
-
Yeah always thought these looked amazing especially in red and the power you can get out of that block ! wow
-
Good to see the car go to a good home, the original buyer should of asked the seller to meet him halfway for an engine rebuild or at least 2k back, or even a refund, no way should an engine rebuild be the death of a Rado, more over body rot is the killer. 3-4k engine rebuild and 10k respray.

The 16V big bumper 3dr is the one to go for with the rainbow cloth - 10K will get you a very well sorted one but only a few come up each year in this condition, I expect mine to keep on climbing quite sharply to be honest as a lot of old owners will want to own one again and most of them have been absolutely defaced. What I have noticed though at this time of year quite a few come on the market, so it seems the best time of the year to purchase a car. Nice example here but the three doors are more desirable. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-GTi-16v-Big-Bumper-immaculate-in-and-out/352853912703?_trkparms=aid%3D1110001%26algo%3DSPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D40733%26meid%3Debf464a5a3324b43bddbb905f6d1fee0%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D10%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dco%26sd%3D174115957360%26itm%3D352853912703%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Even if it was tatty would of been a great car to spend some money on and then if marketed correctly could of hit the 15K mark no problem IMO. Bad time of the year to auction a car. Golf MK2 are a better investment car in this present time, link bellow, think the owner is been a bit optimistic on the asking price though. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Golf-MK2-Genuine-UK-Registered-G60-GTI-3dr-Blue-86k-Rare-car/283701894993?hash=item420df35f51:g:W7UAAOSw4zJd6rx4

You never know think we all need to be a bit more creative as we have some of the best manufactures in the world on our doorstep. I have a couple of lenses removed from the indicators so have some templates at hand. I would like to at least get something manufactured to do my bit for the Corrado world at some point.

Think I will bell this company at some point based in Birmingham, Im sure they can point me in the right direction or make them. https://www.geniusofthelamp.co.uk/shop

Damn those are nice I just couldn't justify in my own head spending that sort of money, I wish Heritage just got a set of these lenses together and retailed them at a price I would be comfortable with. Has anyone ever contacted Hella maybe we could start a thread to get these made by them.
-
Thanks I'll bell him tomorrow and see if he can match the figures he did mine for.
