Yeah always thought these looked amazing especially in red and the power you can get out of that block ! wow

Good to see the car go to a good home, the original buyer should of asked the seller to meet him halfway for an engine rebuild or at least 2k back, or even a refund, no way should an engine rebuild be the death of a Rado, more over body rot is the killer. 3-4k engine rebuild and 10k respray.

The 16V big bumper 3dr is the one to go for with the rainbow cloth - 10K will get you a very well sorted one but only a few come up each year in this condition, I expect mine to keep on climbing quite sharply to be honest as a lot of old owners will want to own one again and most of them have been absolutely defaced. What I have noticed though at this time of year quite a few come on the market, so it seems the best time of the year to purchase a car. Nice example here but the three doors are more desirable. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-GTi-16v-Big-Bumper-immaculate-in-and-out/352853912703?_trkparms=aid%3D1110001%26algo%3DSPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D40733%26meid%3Debf464a5a3324b43bddbb905f6d1fee0%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D10%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dco%26sd%3D174115957360%26itm%3D352853912703%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Even if it was tatty would of been a great car to spend some money on and then if marketed correctly could of hit the 15K mark no problem IMO. Bad time of the year to auction a car. Golf MK2 are a better investment car in this present time, link bellow, think the owner is been a bit optimistic on the asking price though. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Golf-MK2-Genuine-UK-Registered-G60-GTI-3dr-Blue-86k-Rare-car/283701894993?hash=item420df35f51:g:W7UAAOSw4zJd6rx4

You never know think we all need to be a bit more creative as we have some of the best manufactures in the world on our doorstep. I have a couple of lenses removed from the indicators so have some templates at hand. I would like to at least get something manufactured to do my bit for the Corrado world at some point.

Think I will bell this company at some point based in Birmingham, Im sure they can point me in the right direction or make them. https://www.geniusofthelamp.co.uk/shop

Damn those are nice I just couldn't justify in my own head spending that sort of money, I wish Heritage just got a set of these lenses together and retailed them at a price I would be comfortable with. Has anyone ever contacted Hella maybe we could start a thread to get these made by them.
-
Thanks I'll bell him tomorrow and see if he can match the figures he did mine for.
-
Sound mate Ill bell him tomorrow. Cant see no arch bubbling to show him though ?

Noticed these earlier an option if your original Hella indicators are smashed. Two choices available in the UK. https://www.winparts.co.uk/lighting-lamps/lighting/indicator/c30/set-front-lights-volkswagen-corrado-clear/p53881.html?a=t4u/0/0/30/53881&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuvvs0N6m5gIVgbHtCh0LLgkIEAQYBCABEgLLyvD_BwE I actually have the below on my car at the moment and they are a good fit. https://www.winparts.co.uk/lighting-lamps/lighting/indicator/c30/indicator-set-hd-tuning-2250274-diederichs/p757354.html Are there any indicator lenses available for the originals to get refurbished, you can't beat the look of the stock Hella ones.

You car has suffered from bad masking I would say . Think if you watch this video it explains well, the person who carried out the work did bad prep and caused a hard line where the seal joins. Typical sloppy lazy workmanship that makes me sick. I'll call the owner up Monday, if you can post me some pictures of the two sides standing back off the car . Cheers
-
Yeah they should of just lifted them seals up there are special tools/wires on the market to lift them so you don't get that nasty join marks, but that almost looks like an amatuer has done that to be honest. I think you should just budget between 1-2k max , forget that 10k business that is for cars where the paint is failing all over the body. To be fair removing the rear windows can do more harm than good sometimes, if not replaced/bonded correctly can lead to water ingress and rot inside the window, you will be relying on a window fitter it will be out of your hands.

They won't do the filler cap mate as Stan their main man hates welding even though he is brilliant at it, has got far to use to bolt on and bolt off panels and refuses to do it now, however they will spray your sides for 1K with the seals lifted with wires. That's why the prices are so high they only like bolt on bolt off as they don't like the unexpected so wack a massive price in to cover eventuallities, it took me three visits to talk Stan in to doing it and in the end that was by means of approaching the owner and using old ties. When I went to see the car sanded down he said straight away was nowhere near as bad as he thought so I reckon he would be happy to do your sides. If you search there are just automotive welders out there and they are so much cheaper then a body shop and then send into spray afterwards. We have a few in Birmingham, one is an old chap who works from home and was a welder at Rover for 30 years.

P do you want me to have a word with the owner of sutton motor bodies , I know him well his dad who is sadly departed use to rent me an industrial yard for my scaffolding business. Ill just say similar job to mine same price ? They use quality products , he mentioned they used an etched primer on my car whatever that means where the rust was.
-
If you won the lottery in an ideal world glass out, but just lift the seals , as mentioned I got my two sides done for 1 K and I was very happy with the results mate, was going around people asking thousands , I went to inspect the arches after they had been sanded down and it was silver underneath and was caused by water rolling up the lip externally not rusting through from behind. I used Sutton Motor Bodies. I know Sean off here if he has rust he sands it down before he goes to the body shop so they can see what need doing so they don't make up a silly price . Also I think Sean said he has had his sides done for about 1k. At a later date if you wanted to you can get the bonnet done which would be around £250-£300 , etc bumper £250.00 - this is the cheapest way to get it done.

One of these in the back garden helps store my hoarding car part addiction. Really good value , purchased, delivered and erected for just over 1k. I gave the shed a nice off green / grey paint job and put some black roof felt over the green felt. All you have to do is slab the base and have good access to the rear of your property as the sheds comes in flat pack form and the elevations are intact so the erectors can carry them to the location . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16FT-X-10FT-GARDEN-SHED-WOODEN-SUMMER-HOUSE-WITH-1FT-OVERHANG/283161651016?hash=item41edbfe748:g:nrUAAOSwBqZcLOa0

Sure is I sold one here earlier this year for well less then half price. I would try and find someone breaking a car and aim for about £30- £40 max. I had a bonus this week, I had a MK2 golf 16V mother of all hoards, included brand spanking new bosch 60mm pump with powder coated bracket and x 2 new bosch accumulators and new fuel lines (£600.00 alone retail), also loads of other obsolete parts including bonnet , arch spats, central locking pump, set of BBS RA alloys, KR manifolds with shiny downpipe, just loads of stuff too much to mention all for £300.00. It helps that I have a flatbed transit wagon at my disposal with a 4 meter bed with drop sides - guy also had an old VR6 Rado in fact it was a 1995 Storm Mystic blue that was half stripped, he threw me in a late VR6 ECU which second hand are going for a whopping £400.00 on ebay, wow I couldn't thank the chap enough !!! I worked out I bagged about £1.7 k of goods going on ebay prices, you need to be a bit of a wheeler dealer to pull some money back on these expensive VW classics or just to have the parts for spares which is why I do it so I don't have to fork out the ebay prices.
-
This is want you need for a late Vr6- rip off unfortunately. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CORRADO-GOLF-VR6-AIR-INTAKE-INLET-PIPE-2-8-2-9-AAA-ABV-RUBBER-PLASTIC/274070935716?fits=Model%3ACorrado&epid=1333719635&hash=item3fcfe698a4%3Ag%3A%7EpcAAOSwm8BctKvC&LH_ItemCondition=4

Have you considered keeping the seals in place and just getting them lifted with wires so you can spray underneath the seals. I couldn't justify 10k or I would be thinking of selling my car and buying one for 8-10k that someone has all ready spent a shed load on. I got both my sides sprayed for 1k - but mine had a full respray 4 years ago it was just the arches that needed spraying so was best to spray both the full sides. Thankfully mine was just surface rust on the arches .

Got a massive itch for one of these they have just aged so well and have really cool BBS options and cool retro Hella round lights and spots, also totally cool interior with class door cards and dash etc. Parts seem to be cheaper then the rip off VW classic scene as well. Stock model. Beautiful car IMO https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-BMW-318iS-E30/254417988803?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144 Cool man in the shed build (nice engine swap and colour with rare parts fitted) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-e30-325i-REDUCED-LAST-CHANCE-NO-OFFERS/223755684827?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144 -
I think the part your referring to is known in the car world as a intake elbow or boot. You need to at least put on what model of corrado you own for a part number to be put on this thread. Also there is an early and late variation in the VR6 model so also age of car. However if you have an aftermarket filter a stock one might not be suitable.
