  1. Sent these questions to seller. Hi, Do these allow for recaros seats to be installed to a 1995 Corrado over the carpets. Will the seats fit higher in the car? The car seat will tilt backwards and back and forth in the track ? The tracks on top of your frame are these the ones that come on the bottom of Recaro? Any cutting or modifying need doing? These are the seats I would like to fit to my Corrado. Thanks https://www.recaro-automotive.com/en/comfort/recaro-specialist
  2. Thanks have you seen the base I posted mate looks like they will work but not sure, what do you reckon ? Appears you jut put the frame on the original tack and then the recaro seat runners on it , it has an adjust height at the front with different holes for the seat pin . I would ask the Recaro to do the embroidery in black to match factory.
  3. Ive not looked for any yet bet I know there are members on here that have the knowledge to share on here. The sciroccos seat bases are lower. Guys are the MK2 a direct fit I know they sit higher but look what Ive found below on ebay modified ones that are lower Would these be a direct fit. They say fit Corrado . Says best offer so I reckon you could get a pair for £100.00. So with new custom seats and frames looking at around £1600.00 all in https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mk1-or-Mk2-Golf-Custom-Seat-Frame-one-frame-only/114059183556?hash=item1a8e7505c4:g:kLkAAOSwT9Nd77DP Another seller read description normally £110 for pair https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mk1-mk2-Golf-Seat-Bases-for-recaro-sparco-universal-seats/123917126534?hash=item1cda094b86:g:HfEAAOSwzBJdCHyn
  4. Depends how much you want to spend but for many the most sort after alloy is the BBS RS 5 stud. Think they go for between 2k-3k though ! There are replicas knocking about though.
  5. Agreed small is the one to get. Sure the stock height adjuster is a bit of a pain to be honest I only ever pull by mistake thinking its for back and forth , it literally has the strongest spring in the world ha ! My seats are only luke warm and as you mentioned hardly needed as mine is not a daily. Please may I ask when fitting some stock Corrado recaro to a car. They are a direct fit into the sit runners ? In regards to any looms, mine has a heated seat so has a plug - what do you need to do with a stock recaro seat for all the electrics to work? Also is there a manual tilt release as well on the stock recaro incase the electrics or motor fails ? I've seen people mention Sirocco seat bases are more favourable to use then MK2 golf? To be honest if I purchased the specialist I would probably just go manual. Thank You
  6. Bet there nice though ! You can get the seats in electric as an option, also in the large size you have an extendable seat cushion. From what I can see it does not get a heat option, do the Corrado Recaro have seat heating ? Also no height adjustment. The only problem is the damn bases. Came across this old thread 2014- looks like someone was making them. ??? http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?85461-Modified-bases-for-Recaro-seats-anyone-seen-this
  7. Bloody hell that is the last place I would expect to look for some but the mention of sick is a major no go ha.
  8. If you don't mind mate I'm looking for the CE2 clocks. Many thanks.
  9. How tidy do them grey one look! Holly smackarooney look at the sellers other items good find!. All leather colours and retro designs stunning. These would not match my interior but god they are the bees knees. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-RECARO-MODULAR-LS-LEDER-STOFF-NEU-BEZOGEN-/273810022662?hash=item3fc0596106 P,s if you look about you can get the stock Recaros seats for £700 each , but its the bases that are the problem as not available from what I can see?
  10. It works well chap sticking the new insulation to the old rubber lining, its mad my car smells like a new car now from factory because of the glue. I had to do mine because of the coolant leak but chuffed they are now done. I was quite impressed with the stock insulation , basically 3 layers in the front and two in the back.
  11. Thanks its something I would like to do eventually but it’s all about the fit and the seat base , also need to be at the the correct height sitting in the car . Cool the ultra violet probably the first recaro seats available for the Corrado
  12. Sounds amazing any info on the seats and bases ? Thanks
  13. As we all know the cost of Recaro Corrado seats are rather on the high side and anything from 1500 k upwards. I personally really like the look of them. however with the high second hand costs and the odd set that can come up are 25 years old and can be on the tatty side. So I've been digging about and can see Recaro make a seat custom made in their factory that does appear to look very similar to the stock Corrado Recaro, it's called the specialist and comes in options Small - medium - large Leather in different colours cloth leather bolster with suede Electric seats Driver + Passenger These seats workout out the same price at the lowend valuation of corrado recaros but of course are new handmade from Recaros factory. I was just wondering has anyone fitted the specialist seats to their Corrado. I can't see a recaro specific seat base although they have a huge range for bases. What do folks think of them ? I would go for Black leather to match my interior. Vince at Stealth racing fitted a Bremi 20132 on mine so must be good as he wouldn't use junk. I imagine Beru is the best one out there. I would stay well clear of that Topran garbage. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BREMI-Ignition-Coil-VW-TRANSPORTER-CARAVELLE-2-8-VR6-2-8-VR-6/233317690780?epid=1520056557&hash=item3652d16d9c:g:G5UAAOSwle1dW5e4
  15. Hi swiftkid, Sorry to change the subject but I noticed the comment I have worked on tons of MK2 golfs. Does that mean you have some parts stored away still ha ? Im after some Mk2 Golf CE2 clocks 16V 160 mph 8000 revs. Thanks My cogs at the back of the odometer(mileage recorder) must have failed as my mileage recorder and restart is stuck. Speedo is working though.
  16. Hi Shaun, Hope all is well I've noticed that Rado from Northern Ireland that sold last year is now for sale in Sheffield with the rare Recaros leather bolster cloth interior. I bet you would be tempted to do deal if you didnt all ready have a set of leather Recaros. I've got the gauge pods and Schrick, would really like some front black leather Recaros to finish it off, however I've got to spend the money on the engine I reckon. Must say though after taking the stock leather seats out my car to do the insulation they weighed a ton which is always a good sign of quality to be fair.
  17. Sounds like it could be a be a black magic one if its late and on a N reg?
  18. Only dilemma is these small patches can lead to a MOT failure as they are close enough to the seat belt anchor points and also will just get bigger if not cut out. 100 percent need to think things through though. Sometimes its better to know the devil then devil you don't. However I imagine you would be an expert on the pre inspection on these cars by now. Sean have you got a link for Nothelle G60 Corrado sounds bloomin cool. Thanks
  19. Hi sea, Just to let you know I just spoke to Vince for you and the company he uses is called poweracks Think its this company. https://www.powerracksdirect.co.uk/ Same company as all ready mentioned best to say your trading as self employed mechanic as only trade . Just say Sean mechanics and give your home address dont mean nothing nothing at the end of the day.
  20. Rob can you get some sort of bitumen paint, there is loads of roof paint out there now as well, just paint the scuttle in that area first. Yes you stick it to the foliage cover. Just noticed this is up for sale still. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201911134315965?radius=1501&model=CORRADO&advertising-location=at_cars&sort=relevance&make=VOLKSWAGEN&postcode=b736hg&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=Used&page=1 Ah the dampproofing game , biggest cause of damp are vent bricks getting covered up by raised drives and also badly maintained roofs. and gutters. If you ever have damp if you address the water ingress or lack breathing through blocked vents you should not need any wall injection. Also put trickle vents in your windows and leave them open always.
  21. Rob did you stick the gasket to the foliage cover or the scuttle panel first ? Why don't you get some of that waterproof paint and then paint round the foliage housing and then get another gasket and give it another go.
  22. Lets be honest Rob if you fixed that leak you prob wouldn't feel like selling . Is there anyone local to Rob to pop over his and give him a hand to identify the leak and check the gasket is correct on his foliage cover? The two rot spots under your car wont cost too much mate. However if it is the window frame mate I would prob let her go to be honest. My car is outside as well but I really think its salty roads that cause the rot not the rain when it is sitting on your drive.
  23. I can totally understand this Rob after the thousands spent on body work in previous years. getting that water leak recently and the underbody rot mot failure you had. Just take your time bud and think it over. If it is the windscreen leaking again I would let go myself. Does not mean the end of Corrado ownership, you could get a fair bit out of your car and put it towards a well sorted one. Rather then spending thousands on yours again. It might even be more economical. Best of luck whatever you decide!
  24. Sure thing I would say its a great time of year to negotiate a bargain price for a car.
