1. Has anyone got the Bentley manual and take a picture and post on here so I can inspect if there is a missing link part, cheers.
2. Hi Dox, when locking the tailgate barrel manual with the key it does open/lock the tailgate manually , the actuator does move when I press the key fob but the rod to the latch does not move so it something to do with the join at the back of the barrel that connects to the rod that goes to the latch marked a A on picture above I guess ?.
3. Thanks Dox I don't have a Bentley on hand unfortunately. Here is some pictures of the back of the barrel . I think the area I have circled in green with the two v shaped prongs have some how dislodged from the flat plate at the back of the barrel or there is a missing joint clip god knows.' A' on diagram is the rod that should be unlocking the boot latch when the actuator is activated but is not moving because the prongs seem to be not be attached to anything , 'B' is the actuator rod that is working (moving). 4. Thanks Dox had a quick search but cannot find any diagrams , Ive got a feeling there is some kind of clip missing Ill post some pictures in a bit .I'm actually really close to just a thing or two missing, when it had a spray job four years back I think a few things just got misplaced, also need left and right door card trims that sit on top of the door card that run parallel to the front windows that covers the lower window seal gap . Cheers.
5. Have you got the rear seal in situation at the back of the scuttle panel Rob ? 535819521 Part no 37 on diagram. http://www.oemepc.com/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/RDW/modell/COR/year/1995/drive_standart/76/hg_ug/823/subcategory/151000/part_id/0/lang/e#sec_37 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CORRADO-Rear-Seal-for-rain-scuttle-tray-Corrado-89-95-535819521-/362151353133
6. My tailgate will only open if the key is inserted in the tailgate barrel and turned, I take it that you should be able to just press the button on the key barrel and it should open when the central locking is open ??? Thanks. I've took the rear tail gate trim off and the actuator is working and you can see it pop in and out when I press the remote keyfob , the metal rod looks attached to, I think its something to do where it connects to the barrel as the metal rod going back to the centre of the tailgate locking catch is not moving. Any help would be appreciated folks going to have a bash fixing it later.
7. Could also be the first sign of the pump failing, if so most lightly the control unit in the pump.Just because you can here the pump does not mean its been controlled correctly. The good news is there are loads of early and late type pumps on ebay starting from £20 which is great really as I believe they were not shy of £400 new, quite refreshing to see a second hand part cheap for a corrado. Ive got my spare one off ebay all ready absolute no brainer for that money. Coulkd possibly be the control valve as well ? NO 11 on diagram http://www.oemepc.com/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/RDW/modell/COR/year/1995/drive_standart/76/hg_ug/862/subcategory/171000/part_id/0/lang/e#sec_11
8. The thing to do with these cars is stock piling parts , i'm always looking for a bargain on ebay even if i dont need the part . Ive got a hunch that the Mk2 16v golf lads are going to start nicking the 16v engines out of the Rado as people are going to try and return them back to stock.
9. I think they look great polished bugger of a job though sanding it down. Make sure the manifold comes with all the extras like the solenoid, ecu piggy back, and a few other things.
10. That's the way I would go , remember if you drove off in a new BMW today in a years time you would of lost up to 10k in depreciation so chin up, unless you tell me you got a new BMW today as well. :bonk: Could ask pallet line to collect ?
11. Hi Justin, Welcome back to Rado ownership, please tell us more about your new low mileage Corrado.
12. You never know mate he might be able to put an engine block together for you and send it out on a pallet , they are all over his workshop and you can keep the original engine as a spare .
13. Yep need to get to a man who has seen this many times before, I.e Stealth Racing. For me personally It would be a big thing to keep the original engine if possible. I think cabmaster engine is a AFP engine off a MK4 V6 golf , so you would have to change a fair few parts I reckon .
14. In all likely hood you will not sell it on here so good job you're in no rush to sell it. I dare say the link of the car that was sold that the buyer did not hold on a bit longer and purchased your car, as yours really has had the full monty minus the chains and probably a better buy.
15. Autotrader will be the best place to sell this car in my opinion, as Dox has mentioned in past posts everyone on here has all ready got a Rado. I just sold an R129 that was 7k over other cars with similar mileage but had done to it what you have done to your Rado, there are buyers out there that appreciate what you have put into a car is what its worth. Very well maintained / healthy car by the way, best of luck in the sale.
16. It's a shame that spoonfed that is probably one 2oth of the size of VW Heritage can come up with these parts and Heritage cannot produce them in the UK with its financial clout .
17. All accounted for thanks Jon. It really is worth snapping these obsolete parts up when available.
18. Thanks P, That is a huge bonus with the speedlines, so quick to clean and they do sit so well on the car with the deep tyres. Yes well worth getting a new exhaust system chap is the old one is tatty, they are good value compared to other catbacks on the market, I would consider the CAT + gasket to as they are only £65,00 and really good quality, also is your 02 sensor OK ? I know its more to stretch but if you can get a manifold gasket, cat + gasket+ O2 sensor , your all the way from the engine block to the rear tip, you've refurbished that whole area, the down pipes tend to be pretty robust so I just kept mine. Labour would not cost much more with Vince. Ill get some pics of the golf and rado together soon the headline will be something like Happy and the grumpy hooligan.
19. Few updates folks. Giving the VOO DOO queen a bit of attention today. She is back on her Speed lines because I have sent the BBS RS771 split rims off to be sprayed silver, I purchased them second hand off ebay in dark grey and I prefer the stock silver with a polished rim. I must say the Speed lines show off the red brake calipers very well I might well keep them on. I do like the stock wheels. Got a lovely red VR6 front grill decal off Rembrandt too match the red calipers , totally recommend this guy!! Absolute must have IMO.
20. I second that got my parcel today nice one Jon.
21. Hi Fla, I'm familiar with a catch can as I fitted a JLT oil catch can to a S550 Mustang GT a couple of years ago and you did not need to delete anything, it did collect a fair bit of residue, however the Corrado the breather is connected to evap system and back to the block , so I would not fit a catch can personally as it upsets several components , I think a proper job is to get the valve seals done at some point. Primarily the evap will release nasty fuel gasses through the blue solenoid that build up within the charcoal cannister, then through to the breather back in to the engine block to get burnt off. This would mean you would have these fumes venting into your engine bay into the cabin if left open or if blocked could blow up your charcoal canister.
22. Does anyone else get a little bit of blowby oil that drops out of the oil breather hose that joins to the intake elbow and drops on the chrome plate underneath , I believe this is pretty common on a VR6. ?? Ive changed my pcv valve and breather hose but still get a little as you can see its residue on the plate below.
23. Good to see the car finally went to a good home, and it got the manual it deserved. Another great example of why a Forum is so much better then facebook.
24. Afer a reg check seems like the car is no more unless it has a private registration. Ironically the op would have a smirk on his face as RS Turbos are fetching more then the VR6, however his looked totally chaved out so maybe not.
25. Only catch it is an Auto.
