Im not sure but would it be cheaper to buy a breakers car- I imagine a mk3 or something like that = sell the other parts?
-
To be honest Shaun I think its about time you invested in one of these. 😂
-
I took one to Vince and he said my old one aint bad so must be a bitch of a job - I reckon I would put it in some very hot water first and also use some fairy liquid as lubricator. Robin who is there from time time also put me off by saying the new seal sticks up more.
-
I dont think these new sunroof seals are as good fit tbh.
-
All keepers though im waiting for my sunroof to go although functioning A1 - last owner of my car said it was the last corrado sunroof for sale new from VAG- I wonder what year he purchase it.

Easypops you have a few boxes must be hard to find 😆

Just did my 997 in black - great colour and also hides the dirt well. Stock factory colour codes C2 Silver C2s red Hybrid Green GT3 ceramic Yellow

Im actually holding back from these car raffles as I believe I could become addicted to them- especially If I won one could make me a right addict - reckon I would spend more then I won in the long run so would be a no from me.
-
Never seen it before but the audi RS6 or the 82k give away would be nice- I would take the money all day long build my garage and pay off some of the mortgage., Engine bay looks nice on the corrado but to riced out for me personally in regards to interior.

Merry Xmas everyone . Does the oil temp come from the sensor in the side of the manifold or is it the third sensor next to the low and high oil pressure. What is the max safe temp on the coolant gauge then about 110 then really by the sounds of it- I imagine your car can get hot Shaun with a Turbo ?
-
Just noticed this- think its the plug that has the securing clips that always brakes which is plugged into the rad fan. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1H0973204-1H0-973-204-4-WAY-CONNECTOR-KIT-Inc-Terminals-and-Seals-4-AC278/233324341480

Seems daft by the manufacturers- a gauge should be a gauge and what it reads should be gospel. What about the VDO gauges I might get a coolant temperature for my Votex instead of oil temp which I have om the MFA anyway, The corrado has a sensor just for the binnacle I believe from memory so might be accurate to a certain degree duh duh bad joke sorry.

My gauge cluster in new tbf. Got a new circuit board last year from classics. .
-
I was only looking at the water temperature on the cluster and concentrating on that to make sure the cooling system was staying with in tolerance levels - more over checking there were no leaks and working as it should. The car has had all new genuine coolant senders and fan switch - also a new water pump + thermostat + engine rebuild not sure that would make difference = car was running cooler then I remember ever has done then before - I will study oil temperature next time. I left the car run on the drive when I got home to check the fans came on which they did. I think putting on the factory radiator trims on helped as I believe it ducts the air into the radiator. You can still buy one trim new but it aint cheap - the other side is obsolete. So yes Sean my fans did not kick in today whilst driving.

First drive in the VR today with the new Dasis radiator fitted- please note my old rad was missing the plastic airducts but sourced some used ones to fit on the new rad. Temp today 5 degrees - car ran top at 82 degrees - got home to inspect radiator and no leaks what so ever- car is running cooler . Verdict so far excellent.
-
Euro car parts - I wonder if they still sell one- Heritage was selling ine aswell that looked the same as the Dasis but it was £200 I think x bit iof a mark up.
-
Looks the same as mine- you got that for half price you lucky bugger. 🙄
-
Is that upo for plastics- good thing to have at hand if it is.
-
If it leaks I will get some sealant string but VW must of tested it from factory otherwise they would of supplied a washer - the issues might arrive from housing it in an aftermarket rad.
-
If you look at NO 9 the one with B last digit (late vr) there is no evidence of an O ring for a VAG one. https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/corrado/cor/1995-76/9/959-238000/#9

No chap had them taken off as having a comprehensive underseal and under panel inspection. Yeah chap I was tempted to do that to mine will do no harm - for the life of me I dont think the oe one is meant to have an o ring - the aftermarket ones seem to have a shorter and less complicated thread that come with the o ring. Main job paint front bumoer + rear bumper + bonnet spray as stone chipped and swirling. the wings are actually in good condition surprisingly. Couple of rust patches on the underbody on the rear arches needed cutting out- also on the bottom of the a pillars - got in there early to stop it in its path.
-
Update, Fitted the Dasis Radiator today and the fit is excellent to OE spec- all parts lined up including the top brackets - time will tell how well it cools and lifespan. One thing I did notice was the aftermarket fan switch sensor in the rad I took out had a copper washer- however the genuine vag one did not have a washer and etka does not show the fan switch as having any kind of o ring washer- its not leaking either after fitting. Anyone confirm that the vag one does not have a copper washer as per etka. Cheers.

Going rate is about £100 - 150 for mobile installation if local - at least you get a Thatcham certificate completed off a recognised installer for insurance purposes.
-
Im going to mention this again for VAG parts in current circulation Listers Straford Upon Avon - charge about £4 postage.
-
That is one of the issues mate- if a part is obsolete they still have it for sale and take the money - says something like soon to be available but they are not and still take money and then loose track of the payment. I also had a front bonnet seal from a Golf and just gave up in the end and purchased one from classics. In other words they are advertising stock from classics that even they do not have in stock ie like your filler pieces I presume and took your money with no evidence they are going to supply them - all these issues arrived when they updated their website. Also when you order classics parts through them they do not send you an email receipt for payment so very easy to forget your order- I reckon there are quite a few orders I have let slip by not making a personal recording myself of transactions with them.
