Seems daft by the manufacturers- a gauge should be a gauge and what it reads should be gospel. What about the VDO gauges I might get a coolant temperature for my Votex instead of oil temp which I have om the MFA anyway, The corrado has a sensor just for the binnacle I believe from memory so might be accurate to a certain degree duh duh bad joke sorry.

My gauge cluster in new tbf. Got a new circuit board last year from classics. .
-
I was only looking at the water temperature on the cluster and concentrating on that to make sure the cooling system was staying with in tolerance levels - more over checking there were no leaks and working as it should. The car has had all new genuine coolant senders and fan switch - also a new water pump + thermostat + engine rebuild not sure that would make difference = car was running cooler then I remember ever has done then before - I will study oil temperature next time. I left the car run on the drive when I got home to check the fans came on which they did. I think putting on the factory radiator trims on helped as I believe it ducts the air into the radiator. You can still buy one trim new but it aint cheap - the other side is obsolete. So yes Sean my fans did not kick in today whilst driving.

First drive in the VR today with the new Dasis radiator fitted- please note my old rad was missing the plastic airducts but sourced some used ones to fit on the new rad. Temp today 5 degrees - car ran top at 82 degrees - got home to inspect radiator and no leaks what so ever- car is running cooler . Verdict so far excellent.
-
Euro car parts - I wonder if they still sell one- Heritage was selling ine aswell that looked the same as the Dasis but it was £200 I think x bit iof a mark up.
-
Looks the same as mine- you got that for half price you lucky bugger. 🙄
-
Is that upo for plastics- good thing to have at hand if it is.
-
If it leaks I will get some sealant string but VW must of tested it from factory otherwise they would of supplied a washer - the issues might arrive from housing it in an aftermarket rad.
-
If you look at NO 9 the one with B last digit (late vr) there is no evidence of an O ring for a VAG one. https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/corrado/cor/1995-76/9/959-238000/#9

No chap had them taken off as having a comprehensive underseal and under panel inspection. Yeah chap I was tempted to do that to mine will do no harm - for the life of me I dont think the oe one is meant to have an o ring - the aftermarket ones seem to have a shorter and less complicated thread that come with the o ring. Main job paint front bumoer + rear bumper + bonnet spray as stone chipped and swirling. the wings are actually in good condition surprisingly. Couple of rust patches on the underbody on the rear arches needed cutting out- also on the bottom of the a pillars - got in there early to stop it in its path.

Update, Fitted the Dasis Radiator today and the fit is excellent to OE spec- all parts lined up including the top brackets - time will tell how well it cools and lifespan. One thing I did notice was the aftermarket fan switch sensor in the rad I took out had a copper washer- however the genuine vag one did not have a washer and etka does not show the fan switch as having any kind of o ring washer- its not leaking either after fitting. Anyone confirm that the vag one does not have a copper washer as per etka. Cheers.

Going rate is about £100 - 150 for mobile installation if local - at least you get a Thatcham certificate completed off a recognised installer for insurance purposes.

Im going to mention this again for VAG parts in current circulation Listers Straford Upon Avon - charge about £4 postage.

That is one of the issues mate- if a part is obsolete they still have it for sale and take the money - says something like soon to be available but they are not and still take money and then loose track of the payment. I also had a front bonnet seal from a Golf and just gave up in the end and purchased one from classics. In other words they are advertising stock from classics that even they do not have in stock ie like your filler pieces I presume and took your money with no evidence they are going to supply them - all these issues arrived when they updated their website. Also when you order classics parts through them they do not send you an email receipt for payment so very easy to forget your order- I reckon there are quite a few orders I have let slip by not making a personal recording myself of transactions with them.
-
Hi ABV, yes chap seems very good quality - I have not installed yet but pretty sure they will be fine- all the parts are obsolete so thought I would purchase them more for spares if needed and got discount for bulk buy. He discounts for group buy.

There actually one of the hardest parts to find for a Corrado VR6 and there is no aftermarket version - they are starting to go wrong and hell you aint going to get one for shite- best chance is to buy the cam with he sensor housed into it. Stealth says they are a big issue now.
-
Its all sorted now and they apologized but totally agree with your comments above - they need to up there game big time - getting delivered Monday so hopefully get it painted whilst the can is open at the paint shop .
-
Chap there is a sensor inside the block on the cam that is round . its not the crank , knock or cam sensor that houses into the block its actually an internal sensor. 021 905 163

Sorry this is a rant at Heritage so scroll on if you dont want a headache ha. Ordered spoonfed spoiler on the 4th August and they debited my account for £299.00 - - just got an email today saying we have your spoiler and you need to pay again - have had to send them statements and everything to prove the money left my account and stayed with them- their accounting and customer service is beyond a joke - proper bunch of amateurs- still not confirmed yet they have the money and all ready been on the phone at least 4 times with them over the last four months - its as simple as this, they say they dont have the money and you say- so if it left my account and has not been refunded on the statement and the statement lists you as been the receiver it has it just fell into a black hole- then ? sorry rant over but they are seriously incompetent. I could drop a couple of names here of staff which im not going to do but if you get them just hang up on them as they will cause you issues. VW Heritage I suggest you bring in some professionals to organise your accounting processes and bring a platform that works without causing your clients unnecessary stress , phone calls and emails , delays ! If something is not in stock do not take peoples money and hoard it for months on end - also if something says it is in stock and it is not then dont list it as that- bread and butter of an internet shop. Also not open Saturday morning what is that all about you are in the Motor Industry and folks day off and alike today not even anyone to answer the phone for me to tell you got my money now send me that spoiler you messes. So stop going down Bournemouth beach on a Saturday and open up shop you Beach Bums as most of us are industrial rats ha.

Not yet but im 100 percent fitting them with the front bumper off just in case they snag - also the seller asked what else shall I make and I told him we would all buy a sunroof repair kit - that would be a good thing to have spare in your parts for sure. Its great many parts are seemingly been manufactured by small businesses and in some cases the parts been upgraded- still pleny of improvement for body repair panels though and sunroof Another shockingly hard part to find is the sensor on the crank for a VR- engines are becoming very thin on the ground remember a load of these have been nicked for mk1 and mk2 conversions.,

The G13 is for the car and the Bombay is my antifreez- im not planning on making xmas cheao by spiking my guests 😀

Managed to get the final parts together for the final chapter of renovation. Will give an update on the radiator thread of the fitting of the Dasis radiator. Some nice chrome shinny bits courtesy of MGR Parts Poland . https://www.facebook.com/MGR-PARTS-102352814708229/

Certainly some skills going on here.

Also Fen its 4x50 watt so no extra amp needed .

You can adjust colour and light I believe- because its a Mk2 golf I had to splice into the heat dial illumination to make the loom the same as a corrado. Mate buy one at the day it combines the old with modern tech - what more could you want for a headunit - dab will be the only one eventually.
