  1. Sure Dox I knew that , like Shaun has mentioned I suppose it comes down to the maintenance of x 2 Corrado .
  2. VW Rule I was at Stealth and they painted a subframe with POR 15 had a lovely finish and one little can did two coats of one subframe - apparently it is great stuff and has great resistance against stone chips and rust, much better than powder coating. POR-15 Rust Preventative can be sprayed or brushed on to provide a rock hard, yet flexible, non-porous coating that will not shrink, peel, or crack. It is totally resistant to road salt, petrol, battery acid, etc., and actually dries harder in humid damp conditions. Ideal for suspension and chassis protection. Cant say the same as above for powder coating. https://www.frost.co.uk/por15-113ml-rust-prev/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-oCBjsW66QIVCLrtCh2x3gU6EAYYASABEgLU5PD_BwE
  3. For me and I know this might be a bit uneducated because I have never owned an 8V but I have always avoided these engine blocks because of lack luster reviews , always gone with a 1.8T- 16V or 6 cylinder in the classic vag range. I would probably take a few of the rare parts off it and sell it to someone like Reeves , Amos, etc and get them to collect it on a trailer . Then put the money towards a new Rado and enjoy looking for one knowing you know what to look out for, in a couple of months will be a buyers market for sure. Maybe buy a G60 as I have hunch one day they will demand even more money than a VR6.
  4. I liked his definition of what makes a good wife.
  5. This video is good timing. I'm not sure the owner realises actually how much money it will cost to sort out the car though, needs a paint job and engine rebuild by the sounds of it, mismatch interior, sunroof , electrics , and more. - looks great in red though. Im pretty sure his electric light issue is not a major because its not as if the Corrado had the infamous Mercedes biodegradable loom. its paint and engine he needs to worry about.

    Heat shield

All the clamps OE are still available and agree worth using, most have been superseded , be warned some are £5.00 a clamp.
  7. You can buy the whole floor pans from Heritage because its the same as a MK2 golf - but its all the other bits . Maybe break her up sell the parts and put the money towards a nice perty high revving 2.0 16V .which will more then lightly put a smile on your face. Maybe mix it up a bit a MK2,3,4 golf or MK2 Scirocco. MK4 R32 is a good investment.
  8. Thanks TD just scared to death the top decal caps that are stuck on to the speedline caps are going to fly off - renewart put one of those naff foam pads on it , put some 3m double sided - now used tiger seal one that was coming loose.
  9. Ah got you , is it fair to say the VWMS VSR has no race history.
  10. Its funny the seller says not from a registered car,Vince use to get the kits when he worked for a Vento race team and he told me VW made the race teams buy a complete Vento VR6 as from factory and they had to strip them out and would not sell them the chassis - they wanted it for units as they had poor sale figures. Not sure why they didnt come with a VSR. They also had a Gemini head on the engine . Wow the size of discs and pads on the pictures.
  11. Yes please do Fen. Here are some photos of them on the car. Wearing 205 45 advised by Sean which are spot on to be honest. Think they really suit a black car with the brilliant silver.
  12. Very happy with the way the alloys look can see why there are a few folks on here who highly rate them- just perfect for a Rado- you could get huge callipers under these alloys

    Votex or Recaro Mk2 golf

The recaro MK2 and G60 seats are the same money as the Corrado ones now around 2K a set- they are more common then the Corrado ones though- I have the rainbow cloth in mine and to be fair its one of the best standard interiors VW have ever designed imo - would like the Votex with the VDO gauges as it is a nice touch and gives a little more storage, I was just hoping one of you lot had some buried in your garden ha. there are a few for sale but they mostly are replica ones that people are selling and bodged together- the proper votex vdo gauge trim has a slant at the bottom and they have a LHD version that tilt to the driver, not sure they did a Votex rhd gauge trim for the gauges ?
  14. Great work I notice on my rebuild from Stealth that he mentioned timing chain + MK4 upgarde.

    Votex or Recaro Mk2 golf

Nice mate - SWG do make a centre Console repo - nice bit of kit in the MK2 chap. Love the 16V recaro and I believe early corrado had them same cloth (grey one not G60 ) Never seen these alloys before I like them but not to everyone's taste I guess, nice lip on them- anyone else ever seen a set ? 15 x 7j x 5x100
  16. If anyone that use to own a MK2 golf has a Votex centre console with vdo gauges or a recaro interior, also 16V 3 spoke italvolanti steering wheel for MK2 golf then I might be interested in buying. Also any Recaro Corrado seats have been looking for the last year, Cheers.
  17. They got you there mate truly spammed lol. I was wondering Fen since you use to own a Mk2 did you have any Votex bits or recaro rare bits still in your secret stash. Wouldn't mind a votex console with the vdo gauges.
  18. Think that might be spam message.
  19. I would get a vw logo delta decal made with a red stripe and then charge £300 a set on ebay rare VW vdo delta ha.
  20. Pretty bad choice out there I would say JP is your best bet or a Vibratech sports mount just depends what your after. vibra have a road and ( competition harsh) version. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vw-Corrado-Vento-Mk3-Golf-Rear-Engine-Mount-1H0199262k/303560615756?hash=item46ad9f674c:g:9G4AAOSwBBVelx6a https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAG885M-Vibra-technics-RH-Rear-Engine-Mount-fits-VW-Corrado/301605129876?epid=1525263476&hash=item4639110e94:g:kPgAAOxy79VRchw6
  21. Have you got the part numbers for the bits your looking for ? We can see what is out there- never used Mapco or Ruville myself and dont know much about them.
  22. You wont be able to tell the difference because its in the quality of manufacturing (make up of the metal )how resistant the life of the metal is with the coolant crap eating away at it - Elring made in Germany and JP even if says its a Danish company will be made probably in China. If you google the part number of the JP one you will probably see it is quite cheap and Heritage have put a high mark up on it . That there way of making money. You can relax knowing you sourced the brand with the NO1 reputation in the gasket game.
  23. Knew it was something to do with the spark plugs lol.
  24. Think there is a spark plug remover in the tool kit - might be part of the handle of the jack.
