  1. Yep 100 percent issue in storing in an older house is the garage concrete floor does not tend to have insulation or membrane, so hugely important to lift them off the floor to prevent damp/ moisture erosion . I used some scaffold boards two deep then some damp sheeting on top of the boards and alloys on top. I put a layer of membrane between each tyre but pierce holes in the membrane so everything can breath. I just use some scaffold monarflex sheeting when I say membrane.
  2. This is the Gema shifter and the parts that ware down on the stock one and are obsolete Was £160.00 including shipping which is pretty good for a German engineered sports short shift kit. its the last batch so thought go on then. Are all the seals on it all ready or do I still need the seal kit off ebay as well from any other area in the gear shift. No mods or cutting for this just bolt on and off and comes with instructions. Has a liftetime guarantee which I have never seen before from a carpart.
  3. Thanks for the offer chap. 'I've purchased the Gema one mate I really like the look if it and will be good for someone to try something else to report on it- it does say though it is the last batch to be made. Its the clip at the bottom of the shaft - the video on the post talks about it Fen and I heard mention Gema in Germany is the only place he has seen them as you could only buy them from VAG but was part of the complete unit and obsolete.
  4. I don't think you can mate you cant get the tube or the end clip on the shaft they are obsolete unless you can find some links would be if good is you can- Considering it. Have come across this short shift kit from Germany and has the obsolete parts. https://www.tzr-motorsport.de/epages/61911476.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61911476/Products/0599[14] description Manufacturer: - GEMA Motorsport suitable for: - VW Corrado Bj. 1988 - 1995 - MKG: KR / 9A / PG / ABV Description: The shift path shortening is for VW cable manual gearbox (02A). The standard shift gate is disassembled and replaced by the new shift gate. The shortened shifting lever and another redirection shorten the shifting distance by 35%, since the Corrado already has a shorter shifting distance. The new shift unit has a thread for the shift knob of M12 x 1.5. Technical specifications: - 50% reduction in switching travel - M12 x 1.5 shift knob thread Assembly instructions: - no welding work on the bodywork necessary. - 1: 1 exchange for the series part. Scope of delivery: - 1x switching path shortening including assembly instructions
  5. It has been chap and did improve it someone what = I know how to work it to its best of its ability but if you let a none corrado drive it they would just be trying to force into gear. I think this video explains the issues pretty well- the shifter tube wares down and the clip at the bottom of the shift lever and both are obsolete. Its ashame they have made a kit and not considered these two parts. Also I think the linkages in the engine bay can improve somewhat.
  6. Since my engine is running so smooth its a shame to have a sloppy gear change - have some new old stock linkages for the engine bay - however anyone purchased these bushings for the shift tower or recommend a set- I know 16V does a short shift kit . The first gear is the worst and a little to very stubborn to put into gear - I have three linkages for the engine bay that all connect around the weight. . Anyone? Do they look correct good quality ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231012964731?ul_noapp=true Thanks
  7. Im not familiar with this area but but it states early so yours might be late so different - looks a good kit. As you have mentioned though Hel, cant go wrong with them brilliant quality company. P.s Hel throw in stainless steel banjo bolts and washers with any fuel line they make - just ask after they have given you a price and they throw in free, they are not cheap to buy them banjo ouch.
  8. Massive work going on here Sean fair play. Hate to say but I have seen this nice bit of kit 🤪 This line is for early style master cylinders with the mounting on the side or front of the clutch master. https://phenixengineering.com/shop/phenix-engineering-stainless-steel-clutch-line-vw-02a-right-hand-drive-rhd/
  9. OH Ok I remember one member saying they had a 30K (around that) example from memory and was left in the garage- said it was been left to the family think that is why I got confused.
  10. Dont you ever take her out mate- isnt your one the very low mileage example ?
  11. Wow that is a great transformation- that rust treatment does the job great ! Good graft there !
  12. If I was you chap the best way to value it. Take every part number and google it and find out the price , then add it all together and write down each part that is obsolete ( a second hand part normally sell for not much less then new if obsolete) write it all down as mentioned then even show the guy the document and say make me an offer. probably stacks up to over 1,3k easily I reckon new in sterling. The parts look in fantastic condition.
  13. Mate I bet Geri has one his breaking the 9A and just north of you.
  14. Bit of a bonus the car came with them- you can get them from Spoonfed tuning from the States ABV. my car also came with their deep pile carpets and boot , excellent quality- just glad I didnt have to pay them !
  15. Tried to get some better pictures tonight as the sun seemed prefect. Now on 200 miles in two days. Loving the D & W Momo so much nicer in the hands then a stock wheel, makes the car feel special like a Porsche. . The Black Magic pearl really pops on a low sun.
  16. Fairplay and changing that looks a horrible job to do !
  17. Might be worth holding on for a year or so, have a summer in a Rado and you might want it back in the car ha !
  18. User james off here was sorting out his campaign model, he might want it off you. Have no idea of value will be worth more in individual parts but then you have the hasstle of selling each part. Just dont sell it yet in till somone advises off here.
  19. Sound chap best of luck with it.
  20. I take it you have googled the reg number .
  21. Probably but the fact his user name is Wales y - hum - the evidence is adding up lol.
  22. After looking a bit further into this on elrings site I think the engine number part refers to a change to the rubber cylinder head cover gasket - not the main block gasket. https://web.tecalliance.net/elring/en/parts/cars/assigned?targetId=1755&typeNumber=1755&assemblyGroupId=100223&page=0#@brc/brands:Car;targetType:cars;mandator:elring/assem:VW CORRADO (53I) 2.9 VR6;targetType:cars;mandator:elring;targetId:1755;typeNumber:1755/lnkparts:Gaskets;targetType:cars;mandator:elring;targetId:1755;typeNumber:1755;assemblyGroupId:100223;page:0
  23. Mate I have seen this on Murrays Direct and he is very clued up. He says elring gasket for a very late VR block - read description - I could not see any change over in part number on etka for gasket- but this seller knows his stuff. So in other words could two different types. He has from engine number on description. Sats basically From Engine Number ABV-014-001 elring number should be (complete kit elring NO 224460 Engines made from approximately Mid-November 1994] to end of Corrado production in 1995]/ Worth checking this out mate . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Elring-OEM-Head-Gasket-Set-VW-Mk3-Golf-VR6-AAA-Corrado-VR6-ABV-1995-98-Only-/153300781746
  24. How did you get on with this ?
