Thanks Cressa. How much did yours cost ? I did notice the Recaro heat elements are still available amazingly, not the case for stock leathers though. Annoyingly doing some research I saw some for sale in 2018 (Black leather) in my home city and seller was asking £600.00 grrrr! I also saw a post on the GTi forum from 2006 talking about recaro and they said Corrado ones at the time were cheap as chips grrrr ! I think a lot of them ended up rotting in modified Mk2 golfs . If a good set came up that were black and didn't need re trimming and were about $800-1K I would be tempted but otherwise I would go for the Recaro modern version of them, you can get electrics added but I would be happy with manual as less to go wrong and no loom to source. Its low on the priority list at the moment as I've called Vince and his booking my car in for a full rebuild , will also get my VDO gauge pods fitted at the same time. Having the bottom end rebuild with bores honed out to 3 litres and new matching pistons and full head rebuild. What are the guides to running in a new engine on VR block . not over so many revs in how many miles on the clock ? Cheers.

I'm going to put two cable ties together and put it on the bonnet cable. dangle it on the inside of the grill and leave a small circle on the end of the cable so I can hook it through the grill and pull on it which should release the pins I guess in an emergency ?

You can use an Audi 80 trumpet (same part number as Corrado) ready available off ebay if that has failed, also classics have now for sale the trumpet that does not have the screw. Member Easyposps member on here use to sell the cables I thik. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-UR-QUATTRO-TURBO-COUPE-80-90-COUPE-B2-BONNET-CABLE-END-CLAMP-811823555/303370573947?hash=item46a24b987b:g:7QkAAOSwwO9eFeGQ https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/catalogsearch/result/?q=443823597A&order=relevance&dir=desc

What specialist would you go for Pfnsht ? Color fabric etc ?
-
From my research you can still get these called (seat well) from classics. No 2 on diagram No 3 is obsolete although there is a new old stock for sale on ebay for one side of the car. http://www.oemepc.com/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/RDW/modell/COR/year/1995/drive_standart/76/hg_ug/881/subcategory/184010/part_id/0/lang/e I would just be happy with a manual seat to be honest, not sure I would even be bothered if the seat adjusted up and down. Think its just one of these thing buy some old stock frames and take them to a fabricator and I want this . Would be great if you could get them off the shelf. There are two sets of Stock Corrado Recaros for sale at the moment and they look like you would catch the plague off them. Still 1.1 k - 1.5k I might even call the recaro main dealer in leicester I imagine they have a crap load of contacts.
-
I'm sure that is the way to go but would be great if you could buy the bases.
-
I've also noticed that on VW base seats they have a metal beam underneath with holes in to lock your seat back and forth for leg room etc, cant see them on the seat base. Damn would be all over the Specialist Small in black leather and black Recaro script writing if you could buy these bases. Would 100 percent need to raise and also back and forth agreed. Just don't want to spend 1.3k plus on some 25 year old worn Corrado Recaro seats, when the specialist S is the modern version and brand spanking new.

I'm on eibach springs (25mm to 30mm) eibach b4 shocks with 16s and 45 tryes, more harsh then I would like to be honest, is this why folks say speedlines are the best choice, is the ride a lot softer on 15s ? In my opinion you have absolute no choice with a late VR6 then to lower, looks far to high from factory and wrecks the whole look of the car. IMO

Guys do you think these will fit ? They look low and looks like you just bolt the seat on ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PLANTED-SEAT-BRACKET-FOR-1988-1995-VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-PASSENGER-RIGHT-SIDE/371882729042?fits=Model%3ACorrado&hash=item5695f01e52:g:q1MAAOSwB-1YuxYN https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PLANTED-SEAT-BRACKET-FOR-1988-1995-VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-DRIVER-LEFT-SIDE/192120111030?fits=Model%3ACorrado&hash=item2cbb403fb6:g:vyEAAOSw4CFYuxVx

Tyres should be 205x45x16 . 40 especially if lowered will-be a well harsh ride . No need for spacers they fit perfectly, they are 6.5 J wide same as stock speed lines . RS771 are size 16 not 17 hence trye size 16. If you have aftermarket callipers that are wider than the stock callipers then you will need spacers as the stock callipers only have a couple mm spare.

I've got a very expensive year ahad with my Corrado to be honest. Got a complete engine rebuild to do as started to drink oil a few months back and the smell of burning oil. Also found a rust patch on the underside rear drivers arch corner where it meets the underside of the rear bumper. . Its bloomin cost triple then my golf to get up to mint. Sometimes you do feel like just cutting your losses.
-
I know the front and rear bumper bracket bolts are now obsolete(also one of the front brackets) , Heritage have got some aftermarket front bracket bolts and charging loads for them! Also the front splitter frame bolts are obsolete!
-
These bloody OE nuts and bolts dont half add up, it would be great if you could buy a vag Corrado bolt and nut set with crap loads in there !
-
No the Stock option LHD Recaros - half leathers, possibly the only set on a RHD car in the world I imagine. I believe from seeing these seats in the past that they were a LHD euro option but maybe available in the North American market.
-
Yeah the set of seats alone would probably fetch 1.3k plus.

Good to hear mate, Your bonnett sounds like a cat has been using it as a scratching matt. pretty common as they like to sit on the warmth of a car that attracts the sun heat.

Thanks for the message VW Rule it wont let me reply to your message off here and dare sign out and back in incase it locks me out of the site again for a week. Cheers

Seems to be a car the seller has come into ownership rather then purchased . Which could be exceptional good for the buyer to negotiate a discounted price.

The interior looks very unworn which is a good sign. Blood shockingly nice 1 owner G60 for sale to with 61K. Best time for a few years there has been a selection of very clean rados on the market.
-
Also to add Im sure the old skool on here know about this little mod but those that don't. You can get a cover for the wiper motor and it fits perfect, it was from a Passat and classics sell it for about £12.00 Part number C3A2 955 128 Last two pictures on album shows the cover I fitted today. https://photos.app.goo.gl/KofL9bRESGSeZJv47

Wish I had gone for these now pretty much the same price. https://phenixengineering.com/shop/corrado-billet-euro-light-adjuster-kit/

100 percent agree. I spent a fortune on these and have fitted and adjusting but a crap feeling when you buy something new and bits flying off, not sure how long they will last but all I can say is I was careful to install but when you push in and twist to house they start have little chips flying off !!!! It is a very brittle plastic it should have more play in it . In fact it should be aluminum in my opinion .

Pretty much my exact thought. I have a spare complete mech - you can still get the passenger nipple that the wiper houses on to but drivers is obsolete, I have a complete spare mech - but these links are going to be a pain in the ronson in the future as they are obsolete. Let me know if you fix it mate as I have exactly the same issue. I will also update if I manage to fix it.
