  1. Is there enough now to forward this onto classics. must be a fair few names on the list now ? Cheers.
  2. They will be on the flying Scotsman by now . However if someone has some Black Recaro seats drop me a PM . Thanks Folks.
  3. You can still buy the recaro heat elements from classics believe it or not but the stock leather heater elements are obsolete, mine only get up to luke warm.
  4. Hi Toby out if interest how many paid members are know subscribed. ? Cheers.
  5. Hi mate will be on the fuel pump thread if you can find it . I actually got mine from buycarpartsuk from Germany but they had it priced incorrectly and got it dirt cheap . I did post on the fuel pump thread though the cheapest place to buy it - was MIster Auto off ebay. Put the VDO part number on ebay mate and it will come up.
  6. Nice work mate glad to see you have used blue engineering bricks for the damp proof course as it has a soft pleasing effect to the eye rather then bright red. Also the roof is a good design as it looks like it has achieved a greater pitch then 15 degrees which means you can use a clay tile and not a pan tile. I work on many Heritage projects and also renovated at least 6 houses so have a bit of insight. I really recommend this company for bricks , pavers and roof tiles. They have been going for 200 years in a Clay pit in Kingswinford . Clay ages so much better then concrete and so pleasing to the eye as the color does not fade;like concrete or tends to crack. I used a staffordshire blue on mine and looks great with a white rendered house. My last project photos below I had to remove over 150 tons of soil etc- grabber truck is a great friend in such a project. https://www.dreadnought-tiles.co.uk/index.html I also used reclaimed bricks from the Birmingham arms factory for my front wall. I'm a bit of a ferret but old building materials are so much better quality then new materials. In Fact that good my reclaimed coping stones on my front wall have a makers stamp - I looked them up and went bump in 1860 so that should tell people how good the old material actually is. Also this company for natural slabs, I used blue honed sandstone and a German Resin with 5mm gap between slabs to point. Best value in the UK https://nustone.co.uk/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlqqojuLl5wIVirHtCh0ezwZkEAAYASAAEgIvnvD_BwE This guy can knock you up a hand made Oak door for £750 in High Peak which is exceptional value.Mine is the same door on the gallery with black studs. http://www.claphamsjoinery.co.uk/gallery Internal natura; doors these ;ot are great value. https://www.ukoakdoors.co.uk/ Good one of the door and roof tiles here - excuse me that Im going on a session for the weekend with the lads . Blue stable pavers from Dreadnought look a treat with tarmac.
  7. Did you fit it with a VDO pump pot and sender mate ? Hope this gets sorted out.
  8. HI Hutty, Thanks for introducing yourself. Congrats on your engine build mate I'm going to call up Stealth tomorrow to book mine in. My car has had a couple of weeks of bad luck to be honest. First a water leak which I put down to a door membrane which is now hopefully fixed. My spoiler has started to work intermittently and to top it off I changed a new battery as my old one kept going dead and now the new one has gone dead after a couple of weeks been fitted so looks like I have a damn battery drain. Checked the boot and cubby light and both going out, well annoying ! Wonder if it has anything to do with me getting my headlight metallised and messing with cables getting the lights out. Anyway these will be sorted and well up for a meet this Summer . Never really go on long enough drives but I know there are some great roads around Malvern and Ledbury and some idlic spots for some photos of the cars in situ. Up for anywhere though to meet around the Midlands will be great to have a Rado convoy.
  9. Probably not gone over to classics mate as it was used in loads of VAG vehicles and still in the dealers stock pile. 99 percent sure .
  10. Have you tried the dealers mate I think they sell them for a few quid.
  11. HI Moo, Hope all is well. My car is having an engine rebuild at Stealth this year , he has the new pistons all ready but ging to call him to get a date tomorrow. I will still come to a meet in my Mk2 golf though and tag on if the Rado is not ready. Any other Midlands owners about I think there are a fair few hiding on here ?
  12. Hi Ant, Uneducated with electrics but know these are the correct parts for some of the plug inserts as I purchased some foe my VDO gauges. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-VW-Skoda-Seat-Porsche-10-x-Wiring-Crimp-Repair-Terminals-Pins-000979225E/223487940717?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-VW-Skoda-Seat-Porsche-10-x-Wiring-Crimp-Repair-Terminals-Pins-000979133E/223507235310?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-VW-Skoda-Seat-Porsche-10-x-Wiring-Crimp-Repair-Terminals-Pins-000979021E/223507226497?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  13. Hi mate . I know these cars well mate as just restored one including the headliner. You are not going to do any better then the Heritage Headlining material , I have one fitted and it does look OE. A professional trimmer will struggle to get you a material to match your OE headliner. The biggest thing really mate is the headboard as it will disintegrate on removal. Thankfully the Golf has abundance of OE parts and aftermarket. I purchased one of these and suggest you do the same chap. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Reproduction-MK2-VW-Golf-Headliner-with-Sunroof-for-3-door-cars/143405770656?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  14. To be honest mate I have just checked my passenger side and its the first time I have seen a bit of/damp water on the carpet. I think we have had a record amount of rain in a short time and the scuttle design and all the old seals been a bit old are going to let a wee bit of water in,
  15. Yes mate just take the screw out and gently pull up they are held in by plastic clips . middle plastic trim has no screw.
  16. Nightmare rescue have saved me a couple of times as well ! Have you got a fault reader ? Got any codes coming up ?
  17. To check the windscreen tray under the x3 plastic trims. One screw on the left trim and one screw on the furthest right trim. Just carefully lift unclip each trim by lifting up. Under there is a tray a cm or two wide and see if it is full of crap. You will need to take the passenger side off any way to get to the heater fan grill cover for inspection.
  18. Bloomin hell didn't know that I really need to read my manual.
  19. Have you inspected under all three plastic trims that meet the windscreen there is a channel that blokes up. This was the cause of Robs leak, he only took the plastic trim off above the heater gasket but the other two where blocked underneath with debris. Water will find its a way in without a door membrane. Personally I would park your car nose downwards as all the electrics are at the front of the car, want the water to work it way through the drains by means of gravity.
  20. Your loss mate £15,00 to post a year is pennies- does not cost anything to look at threads so just be thankful paying members subsidise your ability to look on the forum and keep it alive. . Good luck searching for anything on FB and the uneducated advise. A Community is something where every one chips in by the way.
  21. Like the lights - has anyone noticed at the moment a fair few well sorted Rados like above have come on the market and seemed to have increased the over all value considerably and not even peak season for selling a car. .
