These are fine - http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info. ... cts_id=193 GSF sell the same ones but make sure you take that Mann part number with you as they also always sell the wrong filter for the Corrado VR
-
Try a slave first mate...
-
That Laser thing is correct for 4 Cyl VW's and TDI's etc but not the VR As above you need a 36mm socket
-
Good man - didn't want you getting an engine on your head!
-
Welcome to the forum, they will need a good couple of hundred miles to bed in and then get better for the next 300... If it's actually spongey then that's more of a fluid issue, when was it last changed?

Butterflys Blackberry... car of the 90's
Supercharged replied to Butterfly's topic in Members Gallery
What are you having done then Judith?? I'm suprised they've not sheeted the rest of the car before sanding, as Jim says there will be a huge amount of dust around - hopefully the airbox is bagged -
I'd do the hydraulic side of things first mate, that way you don't need to remove the box. Does the bite point appear to change? - this points to a hydraulic issue If you do remove the box then I would also replace the clutch fork and also the sleeve for the release bearing.
-
Hopefully supporting the engine in someway first - you should really re-fit the bumper brackets if you're leaving it like that as the engine is currently supported by 2 M8 bolts!
-
I think the main point should be buy new while you still can! This has been happening on eBay for years and I went through a phase of buying loads of new parts for my G60 and selling the old ones on eBay - some original 12 year old parts were going for more than I'd just paid for new ones - madness!
-
Isn't yours charged up though?? Headgasket failures are almost unheard of on a VR...

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4566&p=42541&hilit=ignition+bypass#p42541 Get on the phone though - most VW dealers keep the 6N0 switch in stock

Help needed dont know whats wrong(FIXED)(NO NEW ISSUE)
Supercharged replied to philie's topic in Engine Bay
Good call above with the lambda - check the wiring near the rear engine mount. When the car reaches 70 degrees coolant temp the lambda becomes a king sensor, unplugging the BTS and blipping the throttle 3 times puts the car into timing mode with no advance so basically ignoring the signal from the 02 sensor -
Shocks ok? Springs seating correctly on the stops? Maybe take it to an MOT garage or Kwikfit to get it diagnosed...
-
What about the bottom ball joints - they usually cause clonking if knackered.
-
Yep, bulb is about £1 from VW
-
Sam,if the switch isn't a new black type one then change it - they fail intermittently so I'd say it's more likely to be this than anything else... less than £20 from VAG
-
Does sound very much like the master as long as the new slave is good (not some silver painted eBay cack) and the rest of the system is fluid tight. Most Corrado's needed a slave change at around 8-10 years old, now these cars are 15-20 the MC is well past it's best.

Ah - yeah might be now, there was a genuine one on eBay for £99 though a while back - bargain!
-
The Late 16v (9a) one is the same as the VR... around £140 from VW
-
Would have thought it would need the same size becuase of the belt length - unless that is different for the 120a alts... Pop round next week if you want to use the Snap-On gun to get it off...
-
Just standard VAG VR6 unit - straight fit
-
Agreed, get it done asap - mimjed, who did yours then??
-
Or if you want something just for the engine then go for the Peter Russek book... http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSear ... 1898780380
-
I think so yeah or at least to test... the rallye ECU has a higher reading 1.5 barr map sensor
