  1. The 1.8 is purely mechanical (high pressure) injection so no ECU and therefore no diags
  2. That bit is correct - first press cars were F plated. Yeah I heard F plates are around, heard there are P reg Rado's as well but never seen one of them Cetainly at least 3-4 cars on a P plate that were late registered and possibly an R reg Corrado out there.
  3. That bit is correct - first press cars were F plated.
  4. Haha - nice one, I hardly ever post in this thread but was just about to mention your 16V - looked good btw! I didn't spot you straight away, was very tired - had done around 300 miles when I saw you starting at 6am this morning...
  5. Glad you got there and back ok mate, I only got back an hour ago myself! Good write up but sounds like it's worth 3.5k max really so glad you didn't buy it!
  6. That's not right, a genuine screen plus all the bits is less than 300 quid, one to two hours labour on top, maybe more like two on yours as it's so badly damaged.
  7. Oh, yeah they do an expansion set that fills the gaps
  8. Unfortunately not, I did the same thing and never using poly again - standard all the way!
  9. Cool, worth buying another year of warranty from vw, usually £400 but not sure if it will be more on an R?
  10. Yep - If it's that new though VW should have all the info so cross reference any service history with a VW dealer (dialogue check) I looked at a 57 plate polo the other day on 11k miles - good deal I thought until the check came back with 28k miles (!!!) at the last service 3 months ago, looks like it was taken in by a VW dealer, serviced and then sent to auction.
  11. Also bare in mind the 58 plate will still be under the 'new car' warranty although this can be purchased as an extension for older cars...
  12. Rubber Care Stick = 00V 096 310A VW dealers should keep it on the shelf.
  13. LOL - only because I have a trade card (save roughly 40% on batteries) VW are actually really cheap too for Varta's
  14. Nice one - they do some good branded parts - worth noting VAG prices are about to go up in January plus the extra VAT.
  15. Surely short to grd just points to a wiring issue - have you checked the car side of the loom as Corrado's are notorious for breaking very close to the lambda connector due to heat and engine mount failure...
  16. 5 Ltrs is more than enough to do a full shell inside and out respray - with water based you don't thin, what you buy is what you get so I assume they mean you need 4-5 ltrs total.
  17. Yeah, on the more expensive ones (but still cheaper than anywhere else I find) Should say on the reciept - some are 3yr
  18. Either a Varta (4 year warranty) from TPS / VW or Bosch from Halfords (5 year warranty and cheap on trade card) Just fit the biggest one you can wedge in, 54Ah is standard for Corrado's but I'm running an 096 in the TDI
  19. The main problem now is everything is water based - one of the reasons MK2 Golfs and Corrado's are so rust resilient is the hard 2k paint which is almost like an enamle.
  20. You've still not bought that lock lube have you!!
