Temps look fine and it may be something trivial but I wouldn't drive it until you have checked the upper chain tensioner... These can fail around the 100k mark so if you have no history of the chains being done I would check this asap.

Do you have the bypass valves fitted??? If so they may have seized up or frozen

Removing seized allen key bolts..?
Supercharged replied to joebloggsVR69's topic in General Car Chat
If anyone needs new bolts then ones from a MK3 Golf are only 50p each as opposed to £2 for the Corrado ones... the difference is they are 1mm shorter but I can't see that causing any issues as long as they are torque'd up correctly (65Nm) -
Any dealer will be able to print the history from the dialogue system... Always amusing to see how much your car broke down in the first few years of ownership - I've seen VR6's that have been towed more than 5 times and all it says is 'undiagnosed fault' Got to love Corrado's
-
ROFL! Seriously though - what a question! The answer is really - whatever needs doing... I would start with looking at the service history and then doing all the usual service items.

Got a letter from the police (UPDATE Wed 4th Feb) ....

I love the way it's from a DCI - you really would think they'd have better things to do! cnuts... -
Don't think thats right - I've checked a few times and when they are on 30% off they only go down to near the trade price... The black industrial tool chest is £138 Trade and the cheapest i've seen it on offer is £145 but it's usually £220 I think... The Black ones are the ones to get though Kev - superb quality and the the drawers have this nice latch mechanism that you've probably seen... They also did the bottom roll cab for £299 with free trays of spanners, sockets and a set of screwdrivers (that was just on offer not trade)

Do you get an alert email when there is a thread about carpet licking Tom?
-
On MK4's the engine mount bolts are of a stretch nature so need to be replaced everytime... on the Corrado they can be re-used but as you said above, would you trust a 15 year old bolt thats been done up a few times and maybe with an airgun? - for the sake of a couple of quid I always replace stuff like this and also spray copper grease over the head after torquing up.
-
No UK Corrado's had pad indicators - if you get a set with them just chop them off...
-
Oh sorry, I see what you mean now - hmmm I reckon they might be but they are part of the carrier according to ETKA so can't check - the only seperate parts you can buy are the boots for them...
-
Do you mean carriers?? If so then no, the G60 / VR6 ones are different to the 8v/16v ones as they take the smaller 256mm disc.

2l 16v no spark - Fixed !! couple of good websites
Supercharged replied to marf497's topic in Engine Bay
Hello, I think it's the hall sender at fault but a good way to test is to get hold of a replacement and plug it it, turn the rotor arm and see if you get a spark (hold a lead close to the head) I think the hall sender is replaceable separately but usually it's best just to get a new dizzy as a complete unit. -
You shouldn't need to balance the spacers with the wheels, that would be like doing the brake discs etc too which should be done at manufacture... The reason your getting the vibration is that they are not hubcentric but i'm not sure you can get these less than 10mm
-
Just get whatever VW recommend, cheap and will be right for the engine.
-
Large flat blade screwdriver and soft faced mallet usually works for me... If you start to rip it apart though and it won't budge, either cut it off but make sure you get a replacement first or if it's drivable just take it to vw and get them to stick the proper tool on it (they may even lend it to you as I can't imagine it gets used very much)

Killed my car going through water.. help! ** FIXED **
Supercharged replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
Mate - not had time to read thru properly but check the air filter isn't wet and the metering head is dry too... Look at the fuel pump connections under the car, maybe worth re-seating the electrical ones with lots of WD40 Could also try unplugging the metering head and running it on just mechanical injection (like a KR) -
Complete brake overhaul - issue with goodridge rear hoses?
Supercharged replied to Mark_Storm's topic in Drivetrain
Hi mate, yeah should be the same... Thread size is M10x1mm - you could check the hose is correct by trying the male of one into the female of the other... Maybe an issue with the refurb? does the thread look good / clean inside the caliper? -
That won't fit a G60, it looks like the smaller size that you get on the VR engine.
-
Yeah there was a 3.8 Barr iirc so it might be that... PD motorsport (now Darren at G-werks) used to supply them but not needed since the newer SNS chips.
-
As above, when warm the lambda and co pot become the most important sensors... You can test this theory by waiting until the problem occurs and plugging a different (cold) blue temp sensor in and see if it recovers, then put the sensor onto the warm cylinder head and wait for the problem to come back again... As Riley says either a dead probe or dodgy wiring to it - usually due to badly worn engine mounts.

It's a Porsche part - should be about £50 Just get the dealer to look up a part for a 1987 944S Non turbo Porsche number 944 110 198 03 Bosch number is 0 280 160 263

Welcome to the forum! If you have brake cooling ducts fitted then it goes into the drivers side one, if not then it goes into part of the lower bumper grill
-
Oh I wouldn't bother with the rear ones - just get the VW ones for them, especially if you have MK4 rear calipers as they have the self-adhesive backing...
