    Topmounts

That's rubbish - new ones are available as are the bearings which are a MK4 part.
  2. Lady driving an L Plate in Bredfield this morning close to VW Antics
  3. Bit late as it expires today but those of you with TPS access might be interested... Quantum maybe not the best brand of battery but at these prices with a 3 year warranty you can't really go wrong!
  4. Yep bled the MC nipple (front of the unit) - usually makes a huge difference to 'feel'
  5. Usually very slight leaks are the heater matrix if you can't see anything obvious (white marks) under the bonnet... Try letting the car warm up fully then turn the heater from cold to hot with the fan on 2 - if you get a slight whiff of G12 then that's it...
  6. Most likely a battery or Alternator issue - take it to Halfords and get them to test it...
  7. That's where the level should be when cold - if it's below that then the light will come on...
  8. Good price for now but can't believe how much these things have gone up - MachineMart used to charge less than £45 for this!
  9. Very apt! That's how most of of ended up driving the bloody things...
  10. Over 4 degrees of neg camber - nice! Never seen one that far out before but assume you knew about it - must have looked miles out... Just do everything up nice and tight - mines been perfect for the last 5-6 years since it was last done, been through several sets of tyres and the always wear nice and evenly and drives perfectly straight.
  11. Try a scrapyard or VW dealer - not expensive new!

  13. No point buying non-genuine bits for something so critical...
  14. Yeah it's not a bad job and perfectly possible on a RHD car without removing the dash... Garages hate it as it involves trim and obviously the time means they have to charge a lot of cash for what essentially is a radiator change. Eric recently had his done by Listers VW in Cov who did a good job it seems!
  15. Not sure if you've seen this guide covering the work me and Yan did on his G60/16V box... http://wiki.the-corrado.net/5th_gear_cog_change.html Syncro's are cheap - all internal bits available from VW Gear oil of choice is Redline MT90 - especially for boxes with worn syncro's! If you need any advice then Vince at Stealth Racing knows this boxes inside out.
  16. Could also be the reader coil for the factory imob - you will see a fault code saying 'engine start blocked' and sometimes an easy fix with some WD40 Other thing to check is the ECU relay (109), worth re-seating this. Could also be the ignition switch if original... and also the crank sensor but I would look at the above first.
  17. Unplug it... Also check the wiring on the engine loom side near the rear engine mount.
  18. Think it must be the barrel unless the switch is not fully in...
  19. Try reseating fuses and relays - could just be one making a bad contact
  20. Hi mate, that VW price is wrong, must be for the electric pump although these are not exchange! Part you need is 021121004X, VW rrp is £53 but the trade price is £33 (plus VAT / exchange)
  21. They've given you a 16V one, uses thinner pads... GSF are useless, I'd try and get your old one back and get one from VW, they are exchange parts but brand new!
  22. This is why so many Storms get damaged / written off when they are being parked - almost uncontrollable imo...
