  1. Chris - Eric (Tempest) actually had his Corrado matrix done this year under VW warranty!!
  2. Glad things worked out ok!
  3. The radiator thermoswitch does this... I would unplug the sensor you changed to see if it goes back to how it was, maybe an earth fault. Relay number 21 is for the flashers - I would try a new one
  4. It could well be a faulty ignition switch or 109 (ECU) relay if neither have been replaced recently
  5. What car do you have?? Engine / Year?? Did the garage do a diagnostic, if so any codes? Did they try a new ignition switch, ECU and Fuel pump relays before changing the crank sensor? If it's a late (1994) car with factory immobiliser there is a common issue with a simple fix!
  6. Leak down test is a bit more comprehensive... but the above sounds good, WD40 maybe a bit thin bt may still do the job Due to cooling issues though VR's due suffer wear of the outer cylinder bores - i.e. 1 and 6!
  7. Reminds me of the Travelodge I stayed at in Farringdon!
  8. Often worth just looking on eBay to see whats available...
  9. Just use the Rain X glass cleaner now, much easier and lasts ages!
  10. Tyres don't really count as they're wear items... No offence but you buy a 20 year old car for £1200, you have to expect a few things need doing!
  11. I think they're the wrong mounts too mate, being an M plate i'm sure the 8v's should have the MK3 style 'comfort' mounts? Just read your last page too - was that Track Rod tool a VAG tool? Looks the business! ---------- Post added at 10:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:42 PM ---------- Ah - the change was in 1995... http://www.vwspares.co.uk/corrado_suspension.php
  12. First of all are you sure it's gone? lots of garages diagnose HG failure on VW's as they are unaware of the water / oil heat exchanger.
  13. Top mounts have to be VAG, nothing else lasts like them... I'm now on over 80k with some VR ones, the pattern ones I had before barely lasted a year! The most important stuff to change now are the upper spring plates - our harsh winters really don't do the metal parts of the running gear any good.
  14. Need to get it on VAGCOM first before doing anything!
  15. Ah ok - your layout maybe completely different to ours in the UK or Euro spec... What does your manual say for MFA? There should be one fuse for the LCD and one for the illumination Do you have a Bentley manual?
  16. Have you checked fuses 16 and 21 ? Fuse 1 is on the left as you look the the fuse box - all listed in the instruction manual.
  17. One of the mounted ones for me please too - can I collect at the next show if you don't mind hanging onto it for a bit?
  18. What - you mean you actually found a use for one of those??? I've never found they fit anything useful at all! 3CM - Part number is in the thread I linked!!
  19. Its missing of ETKA - you need to look at a MK2 Golf or similar to find the washer. ---------- Post added at 1:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:25 PM ---------- http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?24967-Fan-Switch-Replacement&highlight=fan+switch+washer
