  1. What car is it?? Could be the ignition switch too...
  2. Swap them back over again...
  3. Yeah - if it's a dodgy lead / plug / injector / tappet etc then removing the lead from that cylinder won't make a difference... at least that will narrow down to one of the 4.
  4. Deffo the add's Andi - again on my work PC it's fast, IE8, but if I switch onto my broadband PC it's tedious... Every page you click on freezes as it loads one add, then again for another with the mouse pointer just going round. This is using IE9 or Chrome (without Add blockers) on Eclipse Broadband - which is fast and other sites are ok, same issues at home until I installed add-block for Chrome.
  5. Yep, always use Quidco - have accumulated well over a grand now on stuff over the last 5 years!
  6. Rev signal comes from the coil I think - check / clean / re-terminate these connectors
  7. Check the dizzy cap - you should be able to narrow down to one cylinder but either removing a lead at start-up of clipping a timing light to each
  8. Ah ok - just get one from VW... You may just need a new seal which are about 50p!
  9. Probably knackered it - did you prime it first after filling it? I'd just go for a drive and do some figure of 8's in a car park (lock to lock) - if the PAS is working ok and it's just noisey you might get away with it, the noise will go once the air's made it's way out of the system.
  10. Best to get a new one if you can - come with a cap and they are nice and clear and easy to read the level... ABS cars use a different part.
  11. Certainly changed a bit since the TRL days... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LK900d-xf4I&feature=relmfu
  12. Supercharged

    Ignition lead

VW should be able to supply the individual lead...
  13. It's always going to run rich without the charger installed.. Have to tried running with the lambda disconnected? also check wiring to this, particularly the plug near the rear engine mount. Or, try hitting the WOT switch when running as this tells the ECU to ignore the lambda signal. Is the Blue Temp sensor a genuine VW part? If not change it. Digi ECU's suffer from blown injector drivers due to bad engine earths, you might want to try a new one or try yours on another G60 if possible.
  14. I think it's the adverts... from home it's awful for me as it's loading up banner adds - from work it's much better as they're all blocked. I'll speak to Andi when I get chance
  15. How much are you after Baz? As you know I looked at it before you but just needed far to much doing to it and just didn't have the time... what's it like now?
  16. Yep - that's what I'd do and buy a late grill to match as the early ones never look right with late lamps... Keep an eye on eBay for new light units too!
  17. I think so yeah... just not sure if there is anything else you'd need to change...
  18. Nah, won't be the clutch itself... most likely the slave if it's not one of the new alloy type ones - look for signs of fluid on top of the gear box.
  19. That's a late MC but you also need a new pedal too as per ETKA
  20. Fuses 1 and 2 and 11 and 12 are for the headlights... no relays as standard but looms use them If it's got an aftermarket loom fitted i'd rip it out and get it working as standard.
  21. If you've sorted it fair enough but try installing Google Chrome - so much faster than IE!
  22. Just thought i'd try and get some advice on here as I know there are a few accountants etc... Basically I've just received a repayment from the HMRC of £1100 for the 07/08 Tax year... Obviously it's always good to get a refund although i'm slightly annoyed that I was contracting at the time and always thought I was overpaying tax as I seemed to be on a strange tax code - I conected them about this at the time and they have a record of my query as I just speoke to them but no actual details. I asked why i've suddenly got this out of the blue and apparently they've just got round to 'consolidating' my tax for that year - the girl I spoke to said this was normal just I find it a bit odd as I only had one source of income that year so nothing difficult about it and also the fact that I flagged up at the time I was paying too much tax! Anyway, the payment also includes a 'Supplement' of £15 which seems a very small amount for nearly 5 years interest - does anyone know how they calculate this as the person I spoke to could no explain? Looking at this page showing historical rates I would expect it to be a lot more - at least 10 times the amount... http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/rates/interest-repayments.htm Any advice appreciated!
