  1. GSF or Costco sell BOSCH silver's at good prices
  2. It seems fairly accurate to me, best thing to do is calculate it yourself manually then compare the figures. also I tested the speedo in my mums golf last nite with sat nav, when she was doing 75 according to the car, the satnav read 70mph, I will do the Corrado as well when I get chance.
  3. As Henny says and make sure you use good quality oxygen free cables, well sheilded to prevent any crosstalk and make sure you use the correct gauge cable and fuse for the amp! - also buy some black silicon sealant to use round the grommet when you put the power cable thru into the car.
  4. Could be electrical, check that out first, could also be a boost leak or fueling problem - maybe fuel pump starting to fail, also unlikely but could be the ignition switch.
  5. Yeah Del, I think your right but i think most were only registered on a K as most sat at the dealers for a bit.. From what i've heard your right about the price as well but £21k seems a bit cheap to be honest as the standard VR without any options was nearly £20k at one point - adding leather to that must have brought the price to over 21!
  6. It could simply be the CAT heatsheild with the noise ressonating thru the manifold
  7. Nope, all were 93 K's, one given to each of the 6 top UK dealers with no specified RRP
  8. We are talking cars still I take it? :?
  9. I can see who wears the trousers in your household..... Your Girlfriend obviously! :-P
  10. Yeah, I would never put an amp under the seat, especially because of all the problems people were having with wet carpets over the winter... The best place IMHO is screwed (or velcro'd) to the back of the rear bench. Then you can run power cables down the midle of the car from front to back with a fuse near the battery and then signal cables down the passenger side (the drivers side carries the main loom)
  11. Just to let you know its all sorted, I put the new lift pump on the float assembly and my mate fitted it this morning and he's pleased to be back on the road, cheers for the help guys!
  12. hehe - I was trying to put 2.8 in brakets above! 8)
  13. A mate of mine has a Vento VR6 (2.8) and does alot of miles, drives it quite hard and averages 28mpg
  14. What you guys need is a GSF ignition switch like me!... I stop the car, turn the ignition off and if I take the key out to fast the stereo turns off (as it should) but then comes back on again when the door is shut - its superb and cheaper than the VAG one that doesn't include this special feature! - highly recomended
  15. They can but seeing its your fault the insurance should get you a new one, then keep the old one as a spare....
  16. I had a similar incedent last month, Tesco's really is a dangerous place!! - hope you get it all sorted mate.
  17. You need a constant live and a switched live, I think you probably just have them the wrong way round - what type of head unit is it?? - most new ones have plugs in the loom to swap over the red and yellow leads...

    Door Panels

When you say your door mech mas gone - do you actually mean one of the handles has broken???
  19. Question to anyone having problems and getting the JREW.EXE error - are you guys trying to run it on pentium 4 based pc's??
  20. Cheers Kev - Might have a look at that pump if I can't get a new one tomorrow, the part number is listed above but I just noticed it has a G on the end of it - not sure how much it will be so may be worth trying yours if its correct first - if you don't mind digging it out. As Gav says its a late Mk1 (Clipper) so shares alot of mk2 parts - bit of a hybrid and built by Karmann (remind you of anything? - Just as reliable it seems  )
  21. Yeah, B&Q do bags for a quid or so - can't remember if the size needed is 20 or 25mm tho..
  22. Oil temp sounds fine but if you find its going really high them fit a mocal cooler! Hmmm, where is the hole? - what side of cap, there should be a rubber gasket on the cap or was it on the rocker cover?? Spoiler have a look at fuses first then the control box (near the manual switch) - look at all the fuses at the spoiler was tapped onto different circuits depending on what year and modle you have, if its only 15a replace it first and if it goes again, stick a 20a in there.
