  1. There should be a plastic adjuster on the end for the striker position...
  2. Yeah I paid around £100 the pair from VW before VWSpares did them :-( Any MK3 with Discs and I think you can even swap sides by just swapping the pins - you should find a decent on in a scrap yard I would think!
  3. http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1900 Mate - yeah part of carrier and this is the reason a lot of us have changed the carriers for new - MK3 is the same yes!
  4. Still surprises me that tyre age isn't even an MOT advisory!
  5. Still available new from VW - not expensive
  6. Was just about to post that!! Can't believe he crashed the F1 but then he's had it from new and has done some serious miles in it! Love the way it crashed and caught fire - probably a write off depeite being a £1 Million car :-(
  7. Well... my mate who's a tyre fitter says most valves leak around 5psi per year, obviously corroded wheels can be an issue on cars of our age... I've not had to adjust the pressures in ages on mine (over a year) despite checking fairly reguarly!
  8. They're not £50 each Dave for Top mounts - more like £50 the pair!
  9. Who cares what engine it has when it looks like that - stunningly fresh!
  10. They used to be £29 each from TPS but prices have just gone up across the board
  11. Think the Halfords ones are stainless - been using these for years and no problems at all... O ring seal too so hardly ever see any drop in tyre pressure
  12. Yandards works at Lossie but he has a Blue 16VG60
  13. John Austin at Marks Tey are also good.
  14. Deffo - they bend and also wear / shrink... coat the new one in copper grease
  15. Eurocarparts mate - use GGTIUK25 for 25% off
  16. Yeah on the 4 cyl cars there is a pinch bolt and nut which holds it at the top - often bends lightly so always worth getting a new one and replacing the nut. Then you have the plate and 3 bolts that hold it to the wishbone - VW say always replace these too.
  17. Is the blue wire for an A/C component maybe?
  18. The G60 mounts were more heavy duty David but as always the pattern parts just don't seem to last - I'd still fit the VR type mounts as you can replace the seperate parts if needed - done around 50k on Genuine ones now on the TDI and seem to take the heavy front end fine!
  19. http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=664 No probs, it will be the middle part of this gasket...
  20. If an after-market look is installed then you may find the dim-dip resistor has not been disconnected (which you need to do)
  21. I actually find it too small - I cable tied mine under the rear view mirror and have it set on google street view - I don't bother looking out the windscreen any more as my wipers and headlights don't really work... (I do have an uprated loom but the switch broke back in 2005)
  22. What car do you have??? If it's a 16V engine it will be the valve cover gasket leaking
