Yeah I thought there was a thread but can't find it... There will be a shared Corrado / Scirocco stand / pitch as far as I know - I'm heading down tomorrow am with Eric - Tempest -
No, to keep the disc and hub holes alligned in the absence of that screw you smeghead! Tool is invaluable, VAG even supply a plastic version with some cars

^ Ah yeah I remember... Graham - do you know what the difference is though because I think the hose length and pitch of the fittings is the same, just the outer diametre I think? Maybe something to do with the different comp valve used on the VR?

Yan - good to hear mate - assume that gearbox has oil in it??? -
Yeah - it's a complicated setup I suppose but it's the same as a MK2 and 3 Golf so any garage should know how it works and if not find out! If it helps the 2 rubber dohnuts for the rear have a castleated side - these both sit against the car body so facing each other if that makes sense The torque is important too - it's a low figure and if done up too tight you will crush the funny shaped metal washers into each other.

Just go to VW - cost pennies!

Angle grinder will work too but I prefer RW1's method.

I think the issue is Halfords regularly do the 3 for 2 on chemicals and it's so much cheaper than anywhere else now, no one really buys at shows any more because the deals are not very good.

Basically you have a slot seal on each side and then the one at the top so the window is always more secure when closed. The only contact point between the mech and the glass is the clamp and the 2 rollers that keep the glass level on the scissor mechanism

Disconnect that handle and bridge the wires to the switch...
-
Nice one, you might find that blue wire connected to the radio, remove this and insulate

Belt should be 6PK895 Is the alternator genuine James? I've seen pattern ones come with the wrong size pulley...

Does the new one go up to more than 10Nm?? I can't speak for everyone but I prefer the bolts holding my engine in the car to be more than finger tight  -
