Nugget almost done! Well top bit anyway :)

Would you also agree that this is spam?? -
I think you're meant to use a bar between the Alt and bracket on the engine
-
Plugs are wrong, they should be Bosch W6 DPO as standard. It sounds like a faulty ECU or Lambda probe / wiring (near the rear engine mount bracket)... Digifant ECU's fail when bad engine earths cause the ECU to become the shortest route - then blows the injector drivers

Jim's Corrado - ciao to the Fiat! Hello to.. (P64)
Supercharged replied to Jim's topic in Members Gallery
MK4's are generally pretty damn reliable although the PD TDI's can be costly to repair... In terms of known faults it's ECU relay (109), clutch pedal breaking (part is £20 and improved over the original) and electric window regs (were warranted for 7 years becuase of the issue / £50 each now) -
What's up with it? admittedly some of the ratings are low and don't really match what's written but otherwise it's fairly thorough and unsuprising... Factually, the Scirocco was produced by Karmann along side the Corrado until 1993 but may have been deleted from the US range in 88? It's mostly positive about the interior and roominess, build quality, looks, handling, steering, ride comfort and braking... All the usual stuff like long 1st / 2nd gearing hampering 0-60 times and crunchy gear throw, chassis / road noise, too expensive etc are all criticised.

I'd be careful with GSF ones - some parts they sell are shocking quality... New MC's from VW are alloy rather than cast, go for a new one rather than refurbed http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1672

Lots of info if you search on here... New pipe is available in roll form from VW but difficult to bend without the correct tool hence lots of people use copper / Kunifer pipe
-
Shocking - just make sure you're back in a better position to what you started, I would expect a full refund of what you paid that day too.

Welcome to the forum and good username! The gearbox code is actually on a plate at the top near the shift tower - what car is it from though as all Corrado's used 02A not 020... ECU doesn't need the signal but the clocks do so you will need mechanical clocks - assume this is the reason you want to change it??

Why not just use the red one as a daily - maybe fit standard springs back on it for comfort! Should be reliable really - had so much done to it that car that regardless of mileage it should be good as a daily -
Bad car luck continues (not the Corrado for once!)
Supercharged replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in General Car Chat
Try and have a look before you take it in mate, if it drove ok for those few miles it's likely that they just didn't do the tensioner up properly -
Ah from Google... That's an old link - try searching within the forum itself Andi - ---------- Post added at 09:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:14 AM ---------- http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?34576-Front-ABS-Sensor-Replacement&highlight=front+abs+sensor+replacement

Hmmm my iPad1's working fine Pete... Is your IOS up to date? Maybe try clearing the cache in Safari -
It must be the 22.2mm one with 4 outlets - MK3 ones usually only have 2 Best off buying a new one

What sort of car do you have?? On the VR6 there is a Cam sensor (on non dizzy models) , a crank sensor (known as the Vehicle Speed Sensor) and one on the gearbox that feeds the speedo.
-
Compressed air and a block of wood... New calipers are cheap though -GPC were selling a pair of new ones for £50 on eBay (no exchange!)
-
Could also be a water damaged ABS ECU

Nice cab is it a genuine Karmann made in Wolfsburger?, shame about the patch panel...
