looks a good solid base car to start with
-
Is there a clear coat on the paint or straight black? Looks great.
-
Some proper UHB tape or 3M VHB tape should do it
-
Dare I ask how long it has taken? Looks good
-
If the cross over models had the late fronts did they also have the wide track and 5 stud?

Well spotted Jim, Took me a while to cut the wing off and I'd forgotten about the wing bolt, it took the insert with it when I removed it. That's why the hole is a lot bigger than I thought it was when the wing was on. Thanks, that's why I put a picture up.

This has come up well, I thought you were going to sell it That bonnet looks great, must of come of really good car ;)
-
Looks like a good one The horn would of been behind the grill, one horn bolted onto either side of the center section Not the best pic, but you can see them in my pic

The rest of the car doesn't look to bad so far, I plan to fix all the rust before spraying. As for the rear aches, one looks good the other has a little rust, of corse its bound to get worse as I dig around them. The screen looks to have some problems, will know more when I get it out (tried today and cracked it) filler cap is good the only other suspect is around the rear tow hook. And yeah, gonna do it myself

Yeah, I was really disappointed to find rust on a VW that is only 24 years old ..... Not quite to the same scale but my mk5 has just had VW agree to fix the rust on the wings and sills at a 100% goodwill cost When I first took that to the dealer I mentioned I had a Corrado with less rust than my mk5 (it would appear now I was lying, oops)

Got a pic now Its the bottom of the A pillar/sill There is surface rust inside aswell :(
-
Thanks Yan, looks like the bungs must have been removed at some point in its life :(
-
I have found a hole in each sill, there at the front of it, under the wing and can only be seen from under the car. They are definitely rusty but before I weld over them I would like to know if they started of a drainage holes or has the rust caused them?

nice work

As Ian says, stock 150 will be disappointing until tuned but stick a BAM from the 225 TT or cupra in there, I'm sure you wont find that to lame Its a relatively easy swap it just depends on what way you want to go. Mines great fun

Was the first experience of a full electric car I'd had. Have to say it was bloody quick but very odd without any engine noise. Handled well considering the weight it had at the rear for batteries.

Will be a sad day again tomorrow. The rado runs out of MOT and insurance runs out Saturday so tomorrow is the last day I will use it this year. I need to weld a small hole that has appeared in the front of the sill under the wing so the wing needs to come of. Decided it must be time to re-spray it and make it look good and loved again. Should be fun..... :)

Maybe a dumb question but what caused the dent? -
