My old awd 1.8t corrado - where is it now?
GrahamU replied to biggerbigben's topic in General Car Chat
Sure I remember the TVR dash up for sale some time ago -
At work we have a carbon shop that was fully certified to make aero parts and I have suggested we make some panels many times but its always been rejected by management (they know best 🤦♂️) they have now sold the huge autoclave we had and bought a couple of small ones the size of an domestic oven because we only make steering wheels now (check out the Aston Vulcan, Valkyrie, BMW GT4, Porsche GT3, 4, AML GT3 to name a few 😉 And yes, I do have a Porsche wheel that I keep thinking about fitting) I wish we still had the big autoclave so I could get the guys to make a few bits and pieces like this

You have chosen to go with the speedlines then ?
-
OMG, thats brilliant, Great job Do you have a mould for it now?
-
Nice work on the airbag, how you connecting the horn plate? I had to make up a panel that bolted to the back of the wheel so it used the same slip ring as the corrado, problem was it then covered the holes to pop the airbag panel off, so dont forget before you pop the airbag on 😉

Was it you I saw had a rattle from the screen then a crack appeared? Not great to have it out after all your work

Sold Before I put this on ebay, anyone interested in a steering wheel from a Golf / caddy Been modified to work with the Corrado / Golf 2 / 3 horn. Airbag cage only inside to make horn work, no bag or explosive Looking for £90 posted

I measured the wheelbase of the wife's Up! the other week and that was bigger than the Corrado so A TT would be overhanging out the front, rear and sides

Great job you have done there, your car looks spot on. I am a fan of the mudflaps and mine will have them as well 👌 Do you know what that sensor on the servo does?

Mk3 sunroof and other sunroof repair observations
GrahamU replied to andrewchapple's topic in Exterior
I fitted a Skoda Octavia mk1 roof in mine, cartridge and glass fits fine but the motor was a problem, I have heard there are 2 types of mk1 octavia motor or roof and one does fit right but not 100% sure on that -
Mine are a little worn now 😞

Thanks for the link Keyo How much did that cost you

Seen this on an Ameriacn page on Facebook, looks ok but wonder how well it would withstand with the heat from headlights Anyone tried it? https://culturehustle.com/products/mirror?_pos=1&_sid=0b1f11585&_ss=r&fbclid=IwAR3PD7nnRlRQVeARMcb_sCrZetlMkdfEwvVZBdLKhOXZKR6D5uhW9NrVjQk

That screen is from a Lenovo Think Pad but does not have touchscreen. The link you put up shows the same style. I'll investigate further into the mobile idea, thanks

This is what I see on a win10 laptop, no dates for the start of a topic just when someone last posted https://photos.app.goo.gl/eoATef3xWCVXC2m99 As win7 is no longer supported I guess more people will see this problem
-
This is odd, on my company laptop, windows 10, the fonts and layout of the whole forum had changed and there was no dates but now on this windows 7 laptop the dates are back

Would be possible to add the date that the for sale advert was first added to the forum, I seem to be opening pages in the for sale and breaking to find they were started in 2015 so probably no longer available. Thanks

Not to worry, found the drawings and worked it out Early Pin1 (brown) goes to late pin 3 (brown) Early Pin2 (black) goes to late pin 5 (blue) Early Pin3 (blue/white) goes to late pin 8 (black/white) Early Pin4 (blue) goes to late pin 2 (black) Early Pin5 (white/yellow) goes to late pin 6 (white/yellow) and 7 (black/blue) Early Pin6 (white) goes to late pin 1 (white)

With the wiki lost and a search not coming up with much I thought I'd ask if anyone knows which wires go where from early door harness to the late mirror switch. Thanks
-
:) Ha Ha, none taken, although mine is a 6R In my opinion the GTI in the 7 actually looks a bit different where as the 7R just looks like a TDI with 4 exhausts (why 4 on a 4 pot?)
