    Wiring amp

I would run the remote wire from the radio to the amp through a relay, the relay could be switched by fuel pump supply like Dox suggested, you could then put a manual over ride on the amp side of the relay in case you needed it. That would keep the circuits separate in case of any interference from the 2 pump motors
  2. Dropped my car on the floor at the weekend, first time with wings and arch liners in for many years, when I drove it I noticed the tyres scrape the liners and its not that low, So what do people do with the liner when they drop them right down?
  3. Every diagram I've seen shows them as coming on when the ignition is on (KL15) so they are on whenever the car is. Fuse 14 and connection D/9 from fuse box Always surprises me as I expected it to be when rear demist was on
  4. This weekend saw the second drive flange modified and the driveshaft fitted to the car Then following a bleed of the brakes it was finally time to see if it moved Couple of vids, click to view Then while it was sat outside I thought I'd get another pic, it seems to have some camber on the rear, I assume they all have some but its more noticeable being speced out from the brakes May need to see if I can reduce that camber
  5. Finally received the BBS centre caps from China, they dont look to bad once fitted Also heard from the guy making the short driveshaft who has said he could not do it, πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈonly 7 months waisted waiting for it Some time spent researching and found the Skoda VRS shafts are the correct length but the spline for the outer CV is for the 5 stud flange, as much as I tried I could not find a CV that fits the shaft and the 4 stud flange, so option 2 (or is it 3 or 4) take a 5 stud flange and make it a 4 stud πŸ™‚ Started marking out the holes and realised they old stud holes needed welding, especially as I decided to use the M14 wheel bolts That all went well, and the studs fit nicely And it fitted together following a strip down of the the hubs with new bearings fitted and never seen the road 😞 Thats 1 side done, I'll do the other side next weekend
  6. Good advice to any Corrado owner πŸ˜„ A beer in the evening whilst thinking about it sometimes helps
  7. A few more updates Bought some skirts to go on it, rep ABT skirts that are similar to the mk3 GTI but single peice Just because I can, the electric handbrake is fitted click on pic for video (hopefully) And following the recent madness for the sale of a centre gauge, I have gone digital instead She is nearly ready for the road, I have sent of the V5 to update the colour and engine, need that back to try to insure and claim for a new screenπŸ€₯ if they allow it πŸ™‚ Then need the driveshafts cos the one I bought doesn't fit and the second one is still being made since before xmas 😑 and finally sort the bonnet and MOT πŸ™‚
  8. Unfortunately I have to give that one back 😞 but I may try something similar at a later date πŸ™‚
  9. Thought I'd try a different steering wheel πŸ˜‰
  10. Next task, the rad fan driver The mk5 fan is too big for the rado rad so I have a slimline in place but I wanted to have the control from the ECM which sends square wave pulses at different frequencies for the speed To get that I needed the mk5 controller board that is on the back of the rad fan, so started by stripping it from the motor The tabs that would usually connect to the brushes were folded back and wires soldered to them The wires were then run to the slimline, it also has the output for the second fan if I choose to add it at a later date I mounted it to the inner wing so it will be mostly tucked up behind the headlight The whole electronics is potted into the metal heatsink housing so nothing extra was needed
  11. That was in a local detail booth, was a little worried before it went in but the paint wasn't too bad
  12. Another post and some more pics Also fitted the fuse box and battery box from a mk5 Also had some photos of my R by a friend of my son who is trying to build a portfolio, was pleased how they came out
  13. Set up my TPMS sensors today. I dont have CAD of the wheel and tyre so had to go old school by cutting an old tyre up, small hint, if you have a door directly into your house from the garage, best not to cut a tyre up using an angle grinder, the wife was not happy with the smell πŸ™‚ The TPMS I have is F1 technology so has an infra red sensor looking directly at the tyre carcass as well as the pressure and air temperature, not much use on the road but adds to the gimmicks I've set the pixels to look at 5 points across the flat of the tyre, some teams have them looking at sidewalls because of camber they use but I won't have alot of camber so not a concern. will see something like this on my display In other news, the battery bow arrived so that will be looked at over the weekend
  14. how was it, have a good drive
  15. I need to go through it thoroughly being second hand but thanks, that good to know πŸ‘Œ
  16. Decided I would put the fuse box under the bonnet using the mk5 fuse box, so will wire it to this rather than the fuses I mounted under the scuttle Waiting for a battery box to arrive so I can have the matching pair. I did have the battery in the boot but thinking it can look better under the bonnet in a proper box
  17. Had my wheels refurbished this week Just need to get the centre nuts anodised black now And had these done for my Golf 6R
  18. Sure I remember the TVR dash up for sale some time ago
  19. At work we have a carbon shop that was fully certified to make aero parts and I have suggested we make some panels many times but its always been rejected by management (they know best πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ) they have now sold the huge autoclave we had and bought a couple of small ones the size of an domestic oven because we only make steering wheels now (check out the Aston Vulcan, Valkyrie, BMW GT4, Porsche GT3, 4, AML GT3 to name a few πŸ˜‰ And yes, I do have a Porsche wheel that I keep thinking about fitting) I wish we still had the big autoclave so I could get the guys to make a few bits and pieces like this
