1974 mini 1000 bought in 1987 for 400 quid, kept it for 16 years as a project car

Nice fitment. Is your filter take off thermostatically controlled ? you may find the oil runs quite cold with it there.
-
My next step is to make some door builds, I'm going to mount directly to the door panel and have a pair of those adapters from a mk5 golf, fits a 6.5" speaker, so will let let you know after the weekend hopefully
-
the mount looks home made, you may need to get your the jigsaw out :)

Thanks, :( thats more parts on the shopping list

Is there a difference between the early and late interior door handle (the opener part)? I offered up my late door cards to my early doors and the handle looks more rounded

Thats how I started my re-fresh :) nearly 5 years later its going back together Mine had the same rust at the bottom of the A pillars which I think was caused by a rust hole around the screen so could be worth checking yours

There is a group on facebook dedicated to putting TFSI engines in mk1 and mk2 golfs, that would be worth a look, it called 'TFSI/TSI swapped mk1/mk2s' You can get the OEM ECU de-immobilised which makes it easier to fit. Same principal as the 1.8T but with a higher pressure fuel pump by the tank. I think there were alot of people trying to run standalone ECUs because you could get the OEM immo to work which caused alot of problems and meaning the engine didnt run as it should. I did/am considering doing this but it would have to be a CDL engine just for the power (I run a golf R as a daily so can recommend them) but they are expensive :( a standard mk5 GTI engine would be ok but I have a 1.8T in my C and converting it to TFSI for the small gain doesnt seem worth it (but never say never :) )

lol, most of those comments dont really say you have been kidnapped, just that you have gone mad and probably been sectioned :)

Not heard that about the Polo but they are dropping the 3dr golf so could be the same :(
-
OK, thanks Stu, I'm sure you wont mind if I strip your door panel off at LoCo ;)
-
OK, I have done a search and know I need these extra brackets But I havent seen anything on how to fit them! This is the door with these studs, it doesn't seem to fit the studs Do I cut of the studs and rivet it to the door and if so where or is there another solution that others have used? Thanks

I dont have one for a mk6 but I do for a new beetle which should use the same design Unfortunately though it looks like they are not compatible From the diagrams, the corrado switch has 2 outputs one for up and one for down but the later switches only have 1 output, the switches contain resistors and gives a different voltage depending on which way they are pressed
-
The power to the window motor comes from the control unit not the switch so you will be ok to use those switches

I've been looking for a shark fin that has DAB but they seem quite rare I currently have a Hirschmann on it which is almost the same as original just a slightly different angle

Top job, I wish my spraying would come out like that instead of needing hours of flatting

Have you looked at the back plates from a vented rears from a mk4 golf or Leon CupraR or Audi TT, they use 256 rear disks so may be a better option than the standard Corrado back plates. I should really get some for mine so interested to see what you do :)

I need an offcut or part of a damaged black carpet to cut up. Not interested in a complete set and not asking anyone to break up a full carpet set but if you have an old bit that has a hole or has shrunk from water leaking then let me know Thanks
