i did a fair amount of research on silicone hoses & looked into a few of the china brands but was not impressed by reviews out there nor by their usual 1 year warranty plus it doesnt help with confidence when buying from so far away as who knows how difficult a warranty claim would be. i had read quite a few negative things on samco too & saw some horrendous examples of split hoses i ended up opting for roose motorsport hoses as they have a lifetime warranty, are manufactured to order & have a lifetime warranty. they also looked very good quality when they arrived & i was impressed by how sooth the internal walls were & especially so when compared against other hoses ive seen they are much more expensive than the china counterparts but it avoids worry etc & they are in the UK :)

Hello there m80 Unfortunately you are in the same position as many of us, in that they are no longer available :( There is a thread http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=53830 in forum group buys where Stu started the ball rolling to get someone to manufacture them but i think it is still in limbo drop a post on there just in case there is any progress in the future ;)

VR Starter Motor removal (Picture Request Page 2)
g0ldf1ng3r replied to Goldie's topic in Engine Bay
hello m8 my VR had a new starter fitted whilst i was at stealth, it only took them about 20 mins ish. i think it simply unplugs & then a couple of bolts hold it in & possibly have to nudge a hose aside to get it out -
If it is the same 'The Corrado Specialist' i visited a few years ago, near derby way & ran out of his back yard, i would highly recommend staying as far away as possible!!! IIRC i put feedback on here about them as he totally p***sed me around.......excuses of lost keys, keys left in another car which he had sold and needed to get them back, delayed me for several weeks to even go & view the car, ad said everything worked when in reality the alarm fob was broken....sun roof didnt operate at all....leather seats felt all greasy & slimy due to horrible silicone stuff to make them look good, the list goes on & on but the worst was the oil was very warm (thus he has ran it to temp to avoid any smoking) & a couple of mins after i had started it up to have a listen etc he walked up & turned it off & removed the keys!!! i thanked him for wasting over 3 weeks of my time, for wasting several hours travelling there & for the wasted fuel & then promptly told him to go f**k himself stay away, far away....in my opinion edit - just checked the ebay store for these people & it is definitely the place. worst experience trying to buy a car ever!

Hi m8 yeah that head unit looks fine, it states 'Power Output: 4 x 50 W High Power Amplifier'. My sony is 4*52w RMS & drives the 6*9's brilliantly. BUT as the Kappa's are 110W RMS they can take an awful lot more if required. Always look at the RMS when viewing speakers & head units as that is the true power......rather than all the 'peak power' & other terms they use. I had a stealth shelf in my old valver rado, again with 6*9 kappa's, & you will benefit from the additional sturdiness of the shelf as it will aid sound quality

MikeVR6 - if you want the best you cant go wrong with Infinity Kappa range. The 5.25" will fit in the door pods, check the depth of the new models tho just to be sure, & the 6*9's can go in the parcel shelf or i think you can get a size to fit in the factory rear positions but im not sure off the top of my head. Supply those via a nice head unit, i currently have a sony DSX-S100 ipod unit for example [and i purchased another one for the gf's storm for £50 off amazon last month ;) ], & you will have awesome sound & no need for a sub as the bass & mid range & clarity of Kappa's are fantastic I have used Kappa range speakers in all my cars for over 15 years & they are very difficult to beat :D

Ha ha it just goes to show our never to old & you should stay young at heart! Driving to tesco on my break & pulled alongside a M reg dragon green VR - there was an old boy, prolly in mid 70's & in his royal legion tie & jacket, we exchanged big grins & thumbs up :D

always worth a look if the prices & quality are good :)

might be worth a try, you never know m8 i let my gf drive my VR & a few weeks later she sold her focus & brought a mystic blue storm ;) LOL

Anybody any experience with the new Land Rover Defenders
g0ldf1ng3r replied to JMC's topic in General Car Chat
sorry for the delay, my friend was out of the country his brief thoughts are below m8.....not sure if they are helpful or not tho lol 'What can I say about the defender? For me it is THE tool for the job. That said it’s not everyone’s cup of tea for an everyday motor. Has he had a defender before? I can say that my new one drives a million times better than the old one, but it is still a defender and not the height of comfort!' -
IIRC the rado has a radio signal 'booster' box somewhere in between the dash & the arial on the roof & it is normally that which fails & gives you a crap reception i was going to try one of those electronic arials you can get from halfords etc to see if that made any difference but havent done so yet i had one of these in a previous car & it worked great http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_194445_langId_-1_categoryId_165622

My friend has a defender 90, think it is about 3 years old, & he uses it for a daily. We went on a road trip to austria a few years ago & it made for a comfortable journey & was able to get 3 peoples snowboarding kit & suitcases etc on the roof rack. he originally had an ex army defender for off road only & think he enjoyed that so much he got a new model so as could use for road & off road i can mail him & ask for his thoughts on it & then post here if you like m8?
