Jammy sod. -
Pretty sure they're all exactly the same including pods, just the switch position is different.

I had that issue with engine continuing to run when switched off if the lights were on. Mine was an absolute horror show of wiring from three alarms being fitted and removed over the years. I had the dash out for a heater matrix change, so re-made all the splices with good soldered connections and heat shrink. (It was just twisted wire and the occasional bit of insulation tape before, but mostly bare wire shorting and earthing everywhere!). Once it was all back together, problem solved.

I was gonna ask if during all these gasket changes if the head had been skimmed and pressure tested. Waste of time just replacing the gasket if the head has warped, and even more pointless if it's cracked. Probably cheaper to get a replacement head if it has cracked.

I know what you mean Theo. I hear 6.5k is the new buzz word............ would be worth every penny too! Engine is back in and running on mine now. I'll be getting the head I got from you refurbed in a few months. Just gotta put the bonnet on now, and finish the interior which should all be done by the end of the weekend hopefully.

You pipped me to this by a couple of hours! Tbf, I would have wanted to view it first. One thing I noticed, is there any significant damage to the drivers bolster? No photos of that side I saw. -
I can vouch got how good this car is! A travesty to loose a member who has been so meticulous in all work carried out on this, but an absolutely perfect one (imo) for any potential buyer.

Bugger, I was waiting on the missus getting back from work before asking 'cough, permission' to buy it.
-
Mine was like that too when I pulled it out, although there was no apparent problems. Mine was also the original I think, and it had done 144k.

Cracking vid that Rob, tell her she has much respect from the forum for a job well done! :thumbleft:

Around the 22mm sized spanner to take them off by a bolt underneath the spring bit. The nut is sort of semi captive. It won't spin (or shouldn't) but there is side to side movement to position them correctly. Piece of pish!

Paint the bung.

Ah bugger. I'll see if I can source some sort of sheet rubber gasket of the same depth, and try to cut it to size then. Seems to be the only option unfortunately.

And I started the hose envy. :smug:

Matt, where the frig did you get wing mirror and door seals from? I need these too for my impending respray, but thought they were like rocking horse ****!

Saw that this morning. Looks and sounds a very good example (apart from the wheels), but that price is a bit strong........

Not sure if it should be labelled strange, more dangerous I think, but my wife has it in her head that when coming to a hill where blind the other side, she will speed up toward the crest "as if I get there quicker, I'm more likely to see if there is something the other side"................

Bristol Volksfest 6-8th June *Convoy & BBQ Details*
seanl82 replied to CazzaVR's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Andy, I'll only be able to make the Saturday. Work Friday and have to work Sunday now which is a pain in the arris. I'll be at my folks in Bristol from Friday evening though so if you need anything doing with regard to the stand etc, I'm happy to accommodate or come over early to help set up for the day. -
I managed to get the one for the pas fluid reservoir back on with a set of wire strippers! Not a permanent solution if you have a lot of them to do, but worked for me!

Thought it was 4.7mm but didn't want to say unless I was wrong. That was the smaller of the two I saw, the other was much larger. Well, problem seems to have resolved itself. I can only deduce it was a fueling problem and a guess would be a bit of crud had gathered near the tip of the injector, where they were ultrasonically cleaned or something. Clutch bled up, and moved back and forth under its own power today. Away to Plymouth for the w.end so won't be back on it til next week. Hopefully be finished and ready for its first run out by the end of next w.end though, Can't wait!

Missed that. So that price plus shipping.
