  1. Very dedicated there Jim, and a fantastic idea! I'm in for a set. :thumbleft:
  2. Oh we're all comedians today aren't we! I'm going original colour. I know it's not a real Storm, but it adds to the charm that it's trying to be one!
  3. Yes please Chris! Pm me your details and I'll get payment over to you mate. :thumbleft:
  4. Thanks Rob, I hope so mate. I went for nylon coat as suggested by ChrisL, as it's much more hard wearing. It was only available in semi-gloss, but the samples I saw don't look shiny and bling at all which is what I was hoping for. I was really surprised at the price too. I expected it to be more than it would be for paint as it's longer lasting, and I expected it to be around the £150 mark for blasting and a standard powder. It would have been £60-70 for standard, and £100-110 (£100 for cash) for nylon so I went with that! They were recommended by Martin (vr6south) too as he's used them before, so I'm confident it will be a good job. I still have a few things I want to do before and after paint for it to perfect, but I think I'll be able to achieve it in the next 12-18 months which I'm quite pleased about for the moment. :smug:
  5. See that looks good Rob. Mine are 8mm though and blue, so want to change them for something that looks more original. :thumbleft:
  6. Almost everything got now. The knock sensor I ordered a week ago still hasn't come, and picking up the final bits from Tps and the stuff I put in for coating tomorrow before we set off for the week. Missus sussed the ultrasonic cleaner was never initially intended for her as soon as it arrived though!
  7. How do you rate the dubpower leads Kev? Your obviously a man with experience, and I have a set of magnecor leads but I have to force them into the guides, and they're also blue which isn't a great colour combo with a green car imo. I've been thinking of replacing them with dubpower standard black is all, then selling on the current set. Cheers mate!
  8. Tried to remove mine today. What a bloody nightmare! It's not coming off. I cut the lip off but the pivot arm still won't reach over the metal. Think I'm gonna have to do it from below. I'm assuming it's easily accessible under the heatshield with the exhaust removed if anyone knows?
  9. Check the first page of this thread. All covered there.
  10. No worries mate, good to meet you too. Hopefully catch up in the not too distant with the cars as well. :thumbleft:
  11. I'm in the car club tomorrow lunchtime if your still around Goldie? Pretty sure I have the lot from the 2.8 I bought if Chris's don't meet your requirements. You can have a look over them to make sure you're happy then if you like.
  12. Have a look in events and announcements mate. Weekend of 24th May. Sorry for cluttering your thread Gar!

  14. Rob, are you going to the National day now?
  15. Nah it's ok mate, I can't expect them to reserve me a set until I'm ready or anything. Fingers crossed they have them in stock when the time comes though. As soon a funds are in my account, it'll be ready to go but I'll have to wait until I'm booked in for respray anyway, so that'll give me another couple of months I expect to find a pair.
  16. Mine are 17x7.5, ET 35 with 205/40 tyres and they are absolutely perfect. Never had a hint of rubbing although I'm not as low as you mate. 205 width give a very slight stretch, but nowhere near the point of being unsafe mate.
  17. Well done you Sir! Let's just hope they're still available when I can order them in a month or so. Just need roof gutter strips, wing mirror seals, outer door trims, sunroof seal..............
  18. Cross member, skirt, fan shroud, bonnet stay, and a box full of engine bay brackets now in for blasting and nylon coating. Ordered remaining parts required from TPS too so it's all out reassembly when I get back a week Friday! Yay!!! Pleasantly surprised with the price of everything too!
  19. I think power is pretty negligible with the 2.9 inlet on the 2.8 block and head. It's the inlet that restricts most apparently.
  20. Wheels look awesome Gar, top work!
  21. Forgive my stupidity, but I've never seen a set not in place, so can someone confirm these are correct and both sides available from Heritage??? http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_parts_Door-Window-Seals_act_page.render_pageID_1816.htm Thanks!
  22. Thank you all, means alot when coming from all of you with such good ones. I can invisige a car I'll be extremely proud of now! Rog, best thing is, the return of service for the FRI finishes before the RoS for course and they run concurrently, so it's free money for me!
