  1. Hmmm maybe your right then............ Never heard anyone mention it before tbh. Bolsters just look different so assumed they were. Good alternative if true!
  2. Sounds good, I'll give em a call. Thanks guys!:thumbleft:
  3. I don't think the mk3 ones are the same. The bolsters on the mk3 are not as high as the C ones and flare outward a bit more.
  4. Yep, need to be 7mm to fit. I have them on mine (were on when I bought it) in blue and are 8mm, and tbh I think they look a little scruffy because they don't fit in the guides.
  5. The upper bolsters are one piece, kind of an n shape going over the top. The lower bolsters are seperate. Might be worth trying to find a cheap set of seats locally, and using the passenger bolsters to replace your drivers one. The foam is the same for both seats, and the fabric on the lower bolsters clip out. Upper ones would require new cloth as to replace with a passenger one, you'd have a hole for the tilt handle on the inside mate. If you found a set at a reasonable price, you could sell on the plastic parts for a few quid, and it would work out probably less than the £35 for a new one, although a little more hassle.
  6. 2 - unless resprayed. Water ingress is likely to be coming through the seal at the bottom of the cabin filter
  7. Hi all, I've had a search but cant find much, but I'm sure it was mentioned recently. Does anyone know a company that can supply a good quality rad - preferably not over the £150 mark. A stone had punctured mine. :censored:
  8. Just had a good look and yep, new rad required. :( Looks like a stone has managed to find its way right between the slats in the grille, and puncture it. Now in car club ufn whilst I pull out just about everything in front of the dash. :cowboy:
  9. On my phone so cant really get you part numbers, but youll need an original oil pump as the r32 one is obviously shorter, and a new gasket. Thats about it provided your sump bolts are not rounded.
  10. Goldie - Thanks mate, and yes at collingwood. I'm on POs course and here for probably another year. I'm sticking it in the car club to do the work slow time now. Let me know when you're around and I'll give you a guided tour! Rob - You've been saying that for far too long mate! Get it sorted and get to the National Day. Little convoy up with Rog and we can all have a good catch up mate!
  11. Looks like I've sprung a leak. Coming back from Halfrauds to get a couple of fibre glass kits to do a boot build, I noticed steam from the front whisping past the lights. Two minutes from home and oil and water temp was ok, then the low water level light started flashing. :( Can't see where its coming from at the moment, but my guess is the rad. Something else to add to the list! I'd planned on taking it off the road at the end of the month until May, but may have to go a little early now. Booooooooo!
  12. Yeah there was no book interval to change it. Well worth doing though. I changed mine using MT90 last year.
  13. Can't see the pic on the ad, but I got one from an obd1 Golf VR a couple of weeks ago from the scrappy. I thought it was the same until last weekend when I went to fit it, and the electrical connector at the top is slightly different. They're both two pin so its probably just the plug thats different, but worth knowing.
  14. I'll take the nearly new one please Chris! PM me your details and I'll get payment across. :thumbleft:
  15. http://wiki.the-corrado.net/5th_gear_cog_change.html
  16. G12++ or G13 will do fine. Around 6 litres in the system, so 2 x 1.5L bottles of coolant is perfect for a 50:50 mix and good level of anti-freeze down to temps far below what we're likely to see in the UK.
  17. Its worth back flushing with a hose as much as possible too. It'll help rid some of the crud that will have built up over time in waterways. No one ever remembers the heater matrix either, so disconnect the hoses and flush that through too. As mentioned top up slowly, and leave the expansion cap off when you run it up. Massage the hoses to help push any air pockets up and out. I rev to 2.5k rpm for 30 seconds, then let it idle and massage hoses for 30 seconds at a time. It takes a while to do it all, but I've never had any problems with air in the system afterward. Once up to temperature, shut off and top up as necessary once its cooled.
  18. Heard nothing but good things about the dubpower leads. Very cheap too!
  19. Pulling mine next month. Plan on crank seal, (my reason for pulling it), New oil cooler and seals, crack pipe and seals, inspecting chains and tensioners (done 10k ago but worth checking regardless), I've done rocker and sump gaskets 3k ago so that should be ok, inspect core plugs, and anything else that looks a little dopey before painting it all up and chucking it back in.
  20. Matt, it was the December 2012 edition of Sprinter. Has a Blackberry with TT Comps by the look of it on the cover. (Hoffs cars previous owner?)
  21. Look in the cars for sale section. Not sure if it's already gone, but you get a free car with that one!
  22. Have a search Bobby. Think it was mentioned a while ago that a mk1 ibiza splitter will fit with some settling? There is a pic knocking about somewhere too. Your car seems pretty low, so I reckon a 50mm would suit you best. Alternatively spoonfed do a 70mm one if you fancy that. Quite pricey though iirc.
  23. No mate, soz!. I was referring to the one that's linked to classic parts.
