Don't think it's been mentioned clear enough. Bear in mind that your rev counter will indicate the wrong amount of revs. The counter is calibrated differently, it doesn't just go round a bit further on the valver. This may cause issues come MOT time with the tester doing the fast idle indicated on the clocks for a vr at 2.5k, but in reality a valver will be closer to 3k. I THINK there is actually a rev detector on the test equipment, but if not this could mean the difference between a pass and a fail on emissions. Not worth the hassle imo.

DTM mirrors look fugly on just about every motor I've seen them fitted to. Not a fan.

Great for standard setup, but not so good for those that want uprated front, rear or both brakes.

Then Ive got to pay for fuel every time, and shes the main driverand uses it for work! Well its started and seems to be running ok. Engine management light is still on ut hopefully that'll clear after a good run.

I've drained it all and changed the fuel filter again, but the only way to drain is to disconnect the pipe at the filter which is on the engine bay bulkhead, and keep priming it. Takes bloody ages and the battery was flat by the time I got to the red. Put 40 litres of diesel in, and a litre of 2 stroke oil for good measure, then stuck the battery on charge. I'll see if it fires up in the morning. Fingers crossed for second time lucky!

Shes only gone and ****ing done it again! Twice in the space of a few months. Filled her diesel car up with ****ing petrol!!! I dont give a toss about the car, its another £60 worth of bloody fuel down the drain I'm ****ed off about!!! Rant over.

Check local breakers for Golf VRs too. I got by the look of it, a near New pump for a fiver last week!

They're probably the same ones you used back then Rog! Some seized, most leaking, others broken, and none been oiled/maintained in many a year. Maybe a chipper hammer and a DA sander that can be salvaged as I don't think they've ever been used, but that's about it! A few people have recommended the Sealey stuff from Machine Mart actually, and I suppose it's not like it's gonna be in constant use so may as well go with that so I can spend more on other things. Was gonna get some decent industrial garage floor paint, but at around £3 per metre square, and a workshop of 104 metres squared, two coats works out.........lots! (Yes I know how much, it was a joke!). Pointless getting standard garage paint from Homebase and the like, as it'll just lift within a few months. I'm going o apply to the Nuffield Trust for some funding to spruce it up a bit instead. Need a 20 ton press, and a few little odds and sods, and that my £972 budget gone!

Injector removal is pretty straightforward Chris. There shouldn't be any pressure in the rail now as it been disconnected from power for a while. Just be gentle when taking them out to ensure nothing drops in. Obviously New seals are a must. :thumbleft:

Which of the FC products did you use, and what affect (Matt/satin) was it for the wheel Ron? I'm ordering an XL colour kit in beige for the whole of my interior on Tuesday, so I may as well do the wheel and grab handles in black at the same time.

I've been given permission to spend some cash on air tools for the car club in work. I do have a budget, so the likes of snap-on, blue point etc are probably a bit beyond it. That said, it needs to be good quality stuff and robust enough to stand up to likely abuse. With that, I don't want SIP, Sealey and other such "budget" brands if they won't last 5 minutes. I've seen a few Ingersoll Rand items that I believe are decent, but if anyone has any experience or can advise on what would be a decent mid range manufacturer it would be much appreciated. Equally if anyone knows a good place to buy that would be great, but it would have to be a registered outlet with an online store and direct phone number really. Thanks all!

We Navy folk do have internet access at Sea (apart from ickle little boats or crab-marines(subs) or we are in a hostile environment), so don't be fooled. He wouldn't have been able to email you otherwise either! Internet banking isn't blocked so it's definitely a scam. Glad you picked up on it, unfortunately others wont.
