  1. How is your tensioner gear? Is it just slackening off a bit when under tension where the gear teeth are worn, so only noticeable when wet maybe......?
  2. Jim, did you recover the sunroof trim with this as well? I looked into it in the past, and the 3mm foam backing put me off a bit as I thought it may snag when retracting or going forward due to the thickness of it.
  3. Here you go mate. :thumbleft: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?51125-Spoiler-motor-cleaning-and-repair
  4. I cut the head off the old ones and just slid them out Martin. The new one ones were a bitch to get in though, tons of washing up liquid and a long screwdriver with the butt of the handle against the Bush and pull on the (cough) shaft to force them through. :thumbleft:
  5. That could be a problem then. The bracket that connects the upper and lower rod can sometimes brake. It slots into the catch mechanism and needs to be lined up correctly to operate as it should. You may be able to get a good one from a breaker, but it's a very fiddly job so good luck!
  6. Alright Richard, give me a day or 2, I may be able to but not sure how much a courier would be. I'll get back to you when I have the details mate. Sean.
  7. Its relatively common for leaks on the pneumatic lines, but it's sounds like your solenoid may just have been a bit stuck. The door pins should screw down onto the rod so you should be able to pull it up manually though.
  8. Welcome to the forum! There are quite a few around the Plymouth area and meets are well turned out. I used to live there and we organised a meet at DevonDubShack this time last year which was very well attended.
  9. Alright Sean, I don't have a seat tilt lever I'm afraid, I can do you the spoiler motor for £15 posted though mate. :)
  10. If you want better breaking performance, the 288mm fronts from a late mk3 Golf Gti/vr6, some mk4 Golfs etc is a very worthwhile upgrade imo. You could even go up to 312mm if you wish for even better brakes, but the 288mm one are the largest you can go with standard wheels. Google it or Have a look in the wiki section, it's all been explained many times and far better than I can. :)
  11. Braking efficiency is exactly the same, it's just a better design of caliper so they shouldn't seize with the cold weather as is very common on the standard ones.
  12. You can keep your standard carriers and the mk4 calipers bolt straight on. Use your existing pads too if they're OK. Just the calipers and hoses required.
  13. It has to be the worst road in the world on a Friday afternoon though! Ive had to do far too many a weekend run on the 303 or 35 from Fareham to Plymouth, then back on a Sunday night (which is a touch better unless you get stuck behind a granny or a truck on the single carriageways!) :bad-words:
  14. Thats a good budget, and you should find something close to that mileage for the price should one become available. And there is the thing, tidy cars sub 80k miles don't come up very often, and you're likely to have to travel far and wide to get it.
  15. Not a problem buddy, glad it's sorted and you're trouble free (whispers that last bit quietly!) Lol. Yeah the steering wheel needs completely retrimming tbh. Though if it was in good knick, I wouldn't be offering it for a tenner!
  16. Shameless thread hijack, anyone else thinking of doing this, I have a nice cheep one for sale ripe for refurbishment! :)
  17. Where are you located? May be worth seeing if someone close by could scan it with VCDS to see if it throws up anything mate.
  18. I'll double check tomorrow mate, can't believe I didn't think to check before! Pretty confident they're good, but I'll let you, know mate.
  19. Give me a few days to see if I can get hold of a box big & sturdy enough mate. It's possible but a bit of I pain!
  20. Alright Wes. :thumbleft:
  21. Yeah I'd wait if I were you, although there's certainly an argument for both sides. Certainly do-able, but this time of year breeds a severe lack of motivation, which may carry over into spring and it may lose the appeal. That said, it's an ideal time to take it slow, spread the cost of a load of nice new shiny bits (which I'm sure you'll be able to get without a problem!) and really go to town on every part of the car aside from bodywork.
