  1. its suprising the service you can get outside of a vw dealer, ive ordered parts from porsche Chiswick a few time and they are professional and extremely helpful in my experiance. Not always the case with vw but saying that my local dealership are really good on the parts side since im freindly with the parts guys.
  2. i would get them to do as much of the work as possible since they were the ones who did not cover the port holes in the first place! I don't know if the soda will damge the manifold though so check that before you go down that route.
  3. congrats on the feature saw the pics in your thread and they look sweet.

    New brakes on a VR?

ive seen late mk3 8v and 16v's at the scrappy with 288's so it wasnt just the vr.
  5. i agree they are not as grippy as you kind of sink in to the standard seats but they are way more comfier. You dont get tired of sitting in them for long periods of time either! Defo need to be adjusted to teh correct height and recline to make the most of them.
  6. nice, how do you find the seats compared to the standard ones?

    Beige Recaro's...

its hard to say due to the condition and without seeing them i would price them between £350-£400 as they almost never come up and are desirable for those classic green storm owners who want to upgrade their two front seats. This is assuming they are complete with all the plastic trim etc on the bases edit just read you have the back seats too then maybe add another £150-200 to the price

    Beige Recaro's...

price would depend on how complete it is with the rest of the cream leather specific parts such as the plastics and parcel shelf etc
  9. wow, those brake look right at home behind the wheels! Have you driven the car with the new brakes yet?
  10. if your getting the chains done you might aswell fit your cams?

    Recaro wiring..

if they are leather they will definitely be heated. There will be two multiplug connectors underneath the base of the seats. One for the adjustment and the second for the heated element. As for a picture of the adjustment loom I don’t have it but its pretty simple. Just two wires for each seat, a positive and earth. From factory the positive connects to a fused live on the fuse box and the earth is connected to the spider shaped earthing point up behind the top of the dash. You don’t necessarily have to use these points for the wiring you could just wire in any fused live and use any earthing point.

    Recaro wiring..

electric adjustment loom is really simple as advised by Rustynuts above, there is no relay and with the front two seats out the wiring is really simple to route. If you have leather recaros you will also have a heated element in the seats which requires a seperate loom and this is the one that is a complicated as it wires to the dash switches and some relays from what im aware are located in the rear three quarter. Have a earch as its been covered a few times.
  14. just let the air out of the tyre otherwise should be straight forward. Also the valve comes through one of the bolt holes so make sure you undo it as its a hard to get hold of.

  17. Looks great, but i think you need to take pictures in the day withoutthe flash to do it justice :) How many wheels do you have? looks sweet on the 6 spokes 8)
  18. nice wheels with huge amounts of caliper clearance 8)
  19. if you crimp some spade connectors on to the load resistor you can just plug it into the back of the light cluster. It's really simple, no soldering required.
  20. it must be a hgp kit that guys using too as he has a hgp inlet
  21. I once said that i didnt like the way vr6 turbo engines looked because they can look messy, but i like the one below. Not because of the chrome but the layout is so neat.
