Hey Zak, was just wondering, with your dual PCD set up were you still able to keep the ABS sensor rings on ?
-
Cheaper than buying 4x100 RS though i expect mate. Porsche fitment RS are usually a bit cheaper, still expensive getting them sent to NZ. My 17's were sent from Ireland, they had the tyres on and cost me 130 euro each to get posted.

Hi mate, 4x100 centres have 30 split rim holes/smaller centres than yours that have 34. 4x100 16" RS are expensive, but you'll find some on either ebay.de or www.edition38.com I think your best bet would be to get your hubs off, and get them redrilled and tapped to the matching PCD, if there enough room on the hub face to do it ? Matt

OK, i think i worked out that the bearing housing is just the steering knuckle, which i don't need to change. Still can't understand the difference in VR to G60 Bearings though, they are the same size, but must be different internals ?

I think thats right, but what do you mean by 2 x VR6 Wheel Bearings, and 2 x VR6 Bearings ? I've bought all the parts you've listed, the rears just need the discs and wheel bolts. I've bought front VR6 Bearings, i had a look at one next to a G60 bearing, and can't see any difference ?? Also the ring that is screwed on to the hub with 3 screws is wider on the G60 to the VR6 one, i noticed in the pics g60bv hasn't got them on, was there areason for that ? If i use the G60 rings, it looks like i may have to cut clearance slots for the wheel bolts in 5x100 pattern. I also get confused when people say 'bearing housing' - are you talking about the hub here or have i missed something ?? Would really appreciate some help here as i'm half way through doing it now !! Matt

I'd be interested to know how you've done it too, maybe 5 stud hubs and redrilled disks ??

Audi all the way ...

I used to live in Ipswich, I remember seeing your car parked outside a friends house one day in 2005, looked nice, couldn't believe i hadn't seen it around before. Can't remember the name of the road, may of been Lancaster Road, near Spring Road ?? Matt

One of your engine mounts ?? Sounds like the noise mine made when it started to go. Do you know if any have been replaced ?
-
Doh !! Just looked in my outer CV goodie boxes, i got new nuts in there too !! I've got exactly what you posted in your pic boost monkey.
-
I got new outer CV joint kits, came with the boots and grease, but not these nuts ...
-
I'm doing mine this week, i bought new self locking nuts that secure the Outer CV's to the Hubs, like these http://www.germanautoparts.com/Volkswag ... rain/309/1

Love the rims on the 24, anyone know what they are ?? scirocco%20mags.jpg[/attachment:1hxopov6]

Nice one mate, thanks or that, are they 301's or BMW 17" RS you have there ??
-
Mine had 42K when i bought it in 2004, i was after a low mileage G60, they are hard to find, i happily paid 5K for it, like the other guys say, be patient and wait for the right person if you can.

Yep, i can understand where you're coming from mate. Look no further than http://www.karmanshipping.co.uk - your car will go in a sole use 20ft container, no chance of damage, they'll drive it into the container from a loading dock, so no bottoming out either. Mine made it to Australia OK anyways, didn't want to sell mine either !! Cost me 1500 pounds to get it here in 2005. Took 4 weeks. Matt *EDIT* Just realised they only go to HK, but maybe they could arrange something to China from there, or you could have an epic road trip !! Give them a call though, they really went out of their way to help me, especially their agent in Australia.

Wow, what an awesome looking Corrado, love it, is it original paint or resprayed? Looks mint. Can you do me a favour ? Go and measure from the ground up to the centre of your wheel arch ?? The height looks perfect. Matt

What is the problem with them ?? Unless i'm missing something here ? !!

Yeah i think all red suits darker coloured cars for sure. Mine were done with tinting spray (about 5 coats), then enamel based clear coat (about 4 coats). My clear coat came the local hardware store Zak, its made by Dulux and called 'Plastikote'. I pin striped my indicator lens' so they still flash orange with standard bulbs.

This book looked interesting too, viewtopic.php?f=15&t=21463&p=224987&hilit=das+corrado+buch#p224987

I vote for all red on your car, just done mine, looks so much better... Imported Photos 00044.JPG[/attachment:2ptow1vp]

Finally got around to doing mine, i ended up pin striping the indicator lens', they flash orange and look red from a couple of metres away ... Imported Photos 00044.JPG[/attachment:yqflsnql]

Just one more question on this one mate, am i right in thinking that the VR hubs use bigger lug bolts too ??
-
Thanks mate, but i think the early VR6s are 280mm?, i've been searching on Vortex forums about it too. Yeah it is an old thread, damn handy though !
-
Thanks for that Ian, I think the offset is different on the early VR6 Golf discs but i'm not certain. Its funny, someone told me the Seats are 4x100 ? Its hurting my brain !
