Thanks for that reply mate, only just seen it.
-
Yeah, but it isn't out for another 3 months

Speechless apart from looking at every part of it asking myself 'WHY !!' Shocking :cuckoo:

Yes and No really, some days nobody will look twice, i've been to a few VW stealers and some don't look at all, and have never heard of one, recently i was explaining to a parts guy about it and the Scirroco, i went to get my parts a couple of days later, he said "Ah, your Scirrado bits are here mate" :D I think alot people on the roads think its a Jap car maybe. Then there are days when everyone will seem to be looking, i've been chased to pull over, had people taking photos etc. At other dealers i've had all the Mechanics stood around it when i've come outside! its fun having a unique car :D

Standard ET on a 16V/G60 is ET33.(VR is ET43) So yeah, depending on width they should fine. Centre bore is 57.1mm on your car Dan

Hey Mr Garwood, thanks mate, don't worry about the bra, i'll cover me nipples with tape if i can be bothered. :D Only have small pics but could get a bigger one for the Calender pic i guess!

Couple more small pics that i had taken by VW Magazine Australia Starting to cool down a bit here now, it was only about 27 today, my temp guage hit 50 a couple of weeks ago, Melbourne has one big hazy smoke cloud over it after all the crazy bushfires, hasn't rained in 9 weeks, i'm leaving here for Byron Bay again in a week, up there its flooding !! Another 1200 mile trip for the trusty ol' G60, just replaced all engine mounts and gave it a good service and tidy up. passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfGetAttachment 1.jpg[/attachment:1outdjh1] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfGetAttachment 2.jpg[/attachment:1outdjh1] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfGetAttachment 3.jpg[/attachment:1outdjh1] GetAttachment 4.jpg[/attachment:1outdjh1]

Thanks for the responses guys Cheers Simon, thats making sense a alot more now, i was just interested as to why they changed the set up in the VR, but kept the centre line of the wheels in the same place, (G60's are ET33) i guessed there must of been alot more to it, but was just interested to know, and had never thought about the rear beam until recently. I'm not questioning it for style reasons, i have heard about spacers!! Like i said, if i were to put a 24V VR6 into mine, i would have to use a VR6 subframe and the plus axle etc. Sounds like i should really put a VR rear beam in too. Not too many guys have converted a G60 to a VR, they tend to go down the 20VT route. Cheers all Matt

What keeps your enthusiasm for corrado going?
carpoid replied to Jim Bowen's topic in General Car Chat
I seriously think i'll never sell mine, its been so reliable, just normal wear and tear nothing major at all. I like replacing parts on it and it feeling good afterwards. I love how it feels to drive, I love the look of it, and have just become attached to it, can't really put my finger on why. I've always liked things that are a little different and something that stands out, the Corrado is perfect for that i reckon. Just wish i had more money to spend on it really, would love a VRT in it. -
Not sure on the Passat discs either, these are from a '90 to '94 VR6, they're 280x22 but the offset still looks wrong to me 8511.jpg[/attachment:34vrwcn2]

Snap! I have a G60 with 17" BBS in 5x100. If you change the hubs to VR6 ones, you'll need to put VR6 outer CV's in as well, you'll also need to modify the G60 ABS rings if yours has ABS. Also VR6 hubs are larger in diameter by about 7mm, so when using G60 Discs you need to skim about 4mm off the inner wall on the back of the discs where they fit over the hubs, as well as re drilling them. The rears are not a problem, they are just VR6 discs, the wheel bolts onto the disc. So mine has the VR hubs/cv's etc, and i'm using redrilled G60 discs, i don't like having redrilled discs to be honest, i was thinking of asking ATE (who make OE discs) if it was possible to drill some G60 dics in 5x100 and skim the backs out! www.ecstuning.com have 5 stud conversion parts, but i think their custom discs are 288mm, and their 280's are just redrills. Not sure what to do either?

Any ideas on this one guys?

Just been thinking over the last few days.... VR's are wider at the front by 10mm each side, right? Does this mean that the rear beam is also 20mm wider? Meaning if i was to put a 24V V6 motor in my G60 on a VR6 subframe and running gear, to do it properly should i put a VR rear beam in as well? Or at least use 10mm spacers on th rear? What is the advantage/is there an advantage of the VRs wider track when the effective offset of the standard wheels is the same? ET43 on the VR puts the centre line of the wheel in the same position as a G60 which is ET33 doesn't it?

I got a late spec (92 on) kit from www.ARZTuning.de - can't remember the price ....

I can see that they are good for long journeys, i'm going to be driving my Corrado about 1200 miles on all sorts of roads when i move in a few weeks, and have been thinking about getting one to protect my new paint. I also think they look good on some cars, depends on the rest of the styling/colour though. What i want to know is, why do they all have the 2 bumps/folds sticking up?

Hey Walesy, looks cool mate, always fancied having one of those one day. and fitting one out would be fun as i'm a Furniture/Cabinetmaker, so have all the tools etc. Looks like you done an awesome job mate 8) Where abouts on Uranus do you live, looks really nice there :D

Me too, and KeystarG60 on here.

Hi all I've recently bought a Vibra Technics front mount, a Golf Diesel gearbox mount and the other mount is standard. I've had a search and read that the rear one may need a new bolt, but can't find much info about replacing the other ones.. Could anyone give me a small 'how-to' on replacing them please !!?? Do i need to buy new bolts for all of them ? Maybe its easier to get a mechanic with a hoist etc to do it ? What do you reckon ? Cheers Matt

Love it, i really want a set of Recaros in mine, not going to be cheap to get them here. Agree with you on the steering wheel, otherwise perfect mate

Cheers guys, i have been cleaning it this weekend at last, might get some better pics out of my back yard for a change :)

That would of been in 2005 mate, i worked with Dan for 2 years in Stowupland, had my Corrado for pretty muc all the time i was there. Yeah its funny seeing and hearing about that area, with the internet it seems like its just around the corner but its more like 10000 miles away :)

I'll be back for a holiday in '09 hopefully, not telling you when though, i'll just turn up at work one day 8)

I hardly saw any around when i lived there !! I remember following a white one going through Stowupland once and seeing an old guy driving a red valver down some b roads out the back of clayton/ipswch area.
