most insurance companies are not too concernered over 3 points(some even tolerate 6 points)and are unlikely to hammer you because of them.....unless its an insurance offence or theft offence so really honesty is the best policy(pardon the pun).......cos if you don't declare them and u have an accident they can and will void your policy if they find out about them
-
IMHO if you colour coded it it wouldn't look as good as keeping it un-painted
-
they weren't numbered AFAIK......also the chassis numbers were all over the place so one C could be a storm and the very next one could have been an 8 valver
-
nice looking motor you have there Bart  .........the beige leather really compliments the met blue paint 8)
-
it took between 45mins and an hour
-
my local tyre company do wheel alignment for about £20...........but its not the same as a 4-wheel geometry set-up i get done by star-performance for £40+ vat
-
i take it you mean bell :?: (like a buzzer)if so it s the low oil pressure buzzer.......you've either got low-oil pressure or its a faulty switch(could have been disturbed when you got the timing belt changed or its just given up the ghost)

That's true but you will see plenty of MK3 Golfs wearing Mystic Blue and Classic Green though! Just about the only things VW didn't take from the Corporate parts bin for the Storm are the little red badges! I think they should have deleted the VR6 badge and just had 'Corrado Storm'. Much neater and invokes an air of mystery. The Storm is just history repeating itself though. The Scirocco storm didn't get much extra over the regular GTI either. So for future Storm models, read that as leather and a red badge! Can you go into VW and buy the Storm badges? Or are they anal about it like BMW's M livery? You need to show them the log book to get genuine M badges. Kev they've been deleted for well over 2 years kev!!!!............but i reckon they weren't as "anal" as what BMW are about "Motorsport" parts

i think there is just a small bit of "modification" needed but can't remember off -hand........but Skid's ex-C owning neighbour had them in his 1.8 16v over 2 years ago
-
now thats just asking for an innuendo    though must admit i like your C very much Roy........what with you and skid having these low-mile "older" minters......makes my youngster looks positively "low-rent"
-
very early VR6 corrado's as well as the campaign had them as standard
-
funnily enough although it looks like there should be......there never was also i'll move this into common corrado questions
-
the figures autocar got for a G60 were indeed slower than they got for a 1.8 16v.......however this isn't down to the gear ratios not being good but down to A) it was a LHD G60 they tested B) within 2 months or 2k miles of testing the gearbox needed replaced(so it really was tested with a duff box) the figures to take seriously are what VW claim..........as VW and all other german marques are very conservative with their performance figures and i believe they quote approx 7.5 secs 0-60 for the C G60
-
whatever you do don't get a plain steel one from anywhere other than VW!.....also Miltek's S/S cat-back is cheaper than the stock VW system so you are as well "upgrading" and as dazzyvr6 has pointed out......star-performance in glenrothes are your best bet for selling and fitting you one
-
you could try this btw........courtesy of the old VWCCGB website
-
the SiR Crx is that the 130-ish bhp one?if it is then even with its weight(or lack of :) )advantage i don't think it would P*** all over a C VR6 back in the 90's until the I-TR stole its unofficial title the C VR6 ws meant to be the best FWD car of ALL time..........not too sure about the prelude tbh although i've only driven a couple of CRX's(88-92 non V-tech model) including a nearly new one back in 93 and scotcorradog60's old one earlier this year.......i must admit they are one Fun car and if i was in the market for a Fun car the CRX would be on my shortlist
-
your welcome...................btw pmsl sanj
-
i've actually moved your "MY NEW CORRADO!!!" thread to the members gallery mate
-
All VR corrado's came with the 280mm vented discs and as for brake mods........the insurers will look at this not as a safety feature but as something that encourages you to brake later so drive faster etc  the only brake mod that is not a problem to the insurance companies for a Corrado is the AtE power grooves
-
glad that its looking likely to work out to your satisfaction chris.......and i'm sure the bodyshop will do a grand job of it...........keep us posted anyhow..........just feel for you being Corrado-less for a while tho....total nightmare
-
ok as i've metioned previously you can but the full set of 6 quantum-branded(VW's own make btw) for approx £60 or they will sell 1 lead at approx £17 so as the other leads are likely to be as old as the one you are replacing you are as well replacing all 6 at the same time not sure about the wishbones tbh and as for starter motor i would imagine approx 1 hour at most for removal and refitting...........

at last someone with the proper facts
