  8. I remember years ago when I had my XR4i,the RS alloys I had on were pretty grubby(combo of brake dust and dried salt) couldn't get them washed for a cpl of weeks, but when I did they came up as new and this was before I discovered wonderwheels
  9. i fitted a HID kit to my 993........has to be one of the best mods EVER.........it even makes full beam redundant where from and what kit did you use for the C?
  10. its main asset is the engine tbh and if thats fubar'd then its just going to fetch slightly more than a valver thats for breaking(obviously VR specific stuff will still fetch decent money)..........my friend and myself bought a rotten G60 for £400 and after selling the engine/charger/g-box for £500,the rest og the stuff probably gained us another £400,you really need the time and inclination to do it tho
  11. from memory all the "RHD" ones were converted by Bird's(famous for their Hartge conversions now).........any fool who tries and pass of a RHD as being original should be shot
  12. deffo one of the most iconic cars of the 80's,would love to own one too,but the maintenance costs can be horrendous......timing chains needing done at 100k and cost £1k+ to do etc,I also know that you should avoid any RHD converted ones due to them losing the dedicated M3 rack(its substituted with an inferior 325i item)
  13. too hot has probably gone thru as many C's as you Andy :D
  14. Eric,you not getting mixed up with the V6 S4 twin-turbo and the old Five-pot Audi 80 S2,there? I was always under the impression that the V6 twin-turbo S4 had nearer 260bhp I know the 5cylinder(straight-5) S2 had 230bhp
  15. sounds like its the coolant temp sensor, under £40 for the sensor(and new o-ring) and 30mins tops for a $tealer to fit............tho dunno the connection with the horn, best get someone to VAG-COM it to make sure
  16. its on the o/s/r area underneath the side carpet trims of the boot, basically its the same side as the fuel filler flap,it will be in an insulated box(black foam sort of material)
  17. god knows how the alarm armed.........I never had it working from buying it til you picked it up
  18. miaeowwwwww    so how you getting on with the L-reg then?

  20. I had my green C first :-P ...............you boys are just following my lead, hell Pau1 even changed from Alpine white to green too
  21. HPi check should really be done by the buyer tbh, unless you are a trader using it to prove that alls tickety-boo,but like mentioned above it can easily be "altered",if its a deal breaker maybe its just as well to bite the bullet or offer to go half's on the cost
