  1. must be the roads and drivers then, it wasn't a precise test, just a few minutes of fun on my way to work. what the 1/4mile time for a standard ST, has anyone run one up the strip or witnessed a time you can share? ---------- Post added at 01:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:05 PM ---------- i think your last sentence sums it up i took a mate out in mine and he couldn't believe how fast it picked up from 80mph, but he has only had 1.6 astras etc. I still think its good performance for its age, value and mileage. Richard Hammond said "its quick, like properly quick" so that must be the truth
  2. power to weight ratios are about the same, so are 0-60 times, 1/4 miles times are similar. i think "slow" and "annihilate" are the wrong words i have had no trouble keeping up and am 100% sure the foci ST's were giving it the beans. Must be the BMC and magnex giving me all that extra performance then :!
  3. i've raced/played with different focus ST and they aren't fast, they pop and bang a lot but the corrado sits behind them all day imo http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Summary.aspx?model=1441 if a corrado is slow, then so is the ST, deffo doesn't annihilate a VR. If anything i have more trouble with the CTRS
  4. "Such a slow car as standard though!" its not a rocket ship but it gives alot of modern cars a good run for the money, if you compare it to a Focus ST, Civic type R, and many more of the newer hot hatches. For a 16yr old VW i think its quite impressive. Not sure about the standard ride height though, i couldn't live with that
  5. i bought new rears from VW and slapped loads of hammerite on them, wish i'd done something decent to them but at the time its what i did.....
  6. can't remember now, it was one of the first things i did, was 100% bought from ebay though i remember that much.
  7. I think Robin would be better off buying a corrado, its lighter than the octavia, better looking and you get a 2.9 VR6 pre fitted, all for
  8. i wasn't sure if we qualified as friends....lol
  9. what sort of gun have you got? one with the little screw on tub/container or one with a pickup pipe? you can always sieve out the media once you have swept it up, just pour into a large container with some sort of mesh over the top
  10. I bought a decent gun last year, to build a setup in my mate workshop/unit he has, he has all the airlines and compressors stuff there already. have done a bit with sand, and its very very messy, i would get some sort of proper breathing filter. I did plan to get a decent tent/cabinet made and then could offer a blasting service, but that plan hasn't gone anywhere. I do need to blast some stuff soon so will probably just make a mess again for the meantime
  11. mine came with loads of adverts from autotrader etc from the late 90's of corrados for sale. found mine on there, the chap piad £17.5k for it. weird seeing all the old prices etc back then
  12. Someone i know is asking this question but doesn't know who to get a decent answer from. Anyone know much on the subject? am sure the size won't be an issue, but what about mounts etc?
  13. i have a hill drive too that i have to reverse up and in the morning i've noticed many a car judder when reversing up it, my dads new audi did it and we had some audi technicians out to look at it and the drive  my escort does it, am sure i got it in the corrado too and its usually only the morning reverse it happens i can't remember what the audi men said about it, might of been something about our drive being damp and the moisture causing it, we live down a hill and near a river
  14. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320665540622&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT am i right in thinking these usually go for about £60?
  15. can't you just pretend 10 people are interested an get a price, i don't see how us leaving a name here will affect the way they come up with a price i'll put my name down if its £300, but don't want my name down if its £700. Will they be able to quote knowing that?
  16. not sure what it is but i think the best pics of cars are when they are being worked on, looks awesome in the pic above with no rear beam :D hard to pick what looks best out of the speedlines and the BBS, both look brilliant

  21. Going to have to replace power steering fluid soon on my 1995 VR and wondering if i can use any of these from opie oils, as i need to order something else from there but trying to bulk up my order to make it worth while http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-458-coolant-antifreeze-hydraulic-powersteering-suspension-fluid.aspx
  22. I'm not sure its that as i have aircon and have the same setup as the lower pic?
  23. weird, yes i can see it now. not sure why i missed it, i usually only use the "new posts" button when i visit
  24. Not really any reason for me to know, but just interested to know now. But spotted that some slam panels are different? Anyone know the reason for this? Mine is the same as the green one, which looks nicer imo  not that it matters, but any reason why they are different? Is this early and late?
  25. I made a post in the external adverts for sale area, for a lego kit on ebay, but it hasn't appeared yet. everytime i post a link or photo it seems it has to be approved by a moderator
