i have a bending tool and would say you could manage without one, just bend it around something like like a round paintbrush handle

  6. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volkswagen-Corrado-Overhaul-Bolt-Kit-VR6-G60-16V-/160594604235?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item25642f30cb seen this for sale, am quite interested in renewing things like this, and always handy to have bolts and stuff around the garage. anyone on here bought a set off this guy? is there any reason not to? alsothe seller appear to be a few miles from my house
  7. i use admiral multicar, and so do alot of people i know with two cars. had to argue for a while to get the quote down, but the person on phone put me on hold then came back saying they could "mirror" my no claims? all i knew was it made the quote alot more reasonable
  8. i thought VW gave up trying to make sports cars after the 1st corrado, can't see them wanting to relive the nightmare
  9. had this problem on my escort, and it was the flexihoses, where they pass through some metal, the metal has rusted and kinda swollen around the hose, meaning the fluid couldn't move through very easily.
  10. a 200bhp car these days isn't as fast as a 200bhp car used to be
  11. i have found a way of levering them off from the rear with a long bar and positioned correctly on the wishbones/subframe, didn't like hitting my new wheels with a mallet
  12. i want my calipers on the back of front discs and front of back discs like modern cars
  13. they are after a quick 5min scratch around, not done anything properly with it yet i'll probably spray inside tailgate and laquer it aswell once finished.
  14. i will put it on my list of things to get when i finally get round to going to VW dealers, will be another expensive trip i think  some pics, hard to photo the rest is plenty shiny
  15. i agree there will be a point where the ones that really stand out will be sought after, am sure the corrado memory won't just disappear, its time will come but it will be admired in small circles.
  16. Hi not sure if this is something that has happened with age or something hasn't been installed correctly on my car, but its worth checking imo i noticed a tiny tiny bit of rust where the metal trim piece fits over the lights (under spoiler) so took a screwdriver to it and found lots of specks of paint that hadn't quite rusted but formed a perfect few mm round circle and the painted just came off when i prodded them, so the my tailgate now needs a respray (looked mint before) when i took off the plastic cover from inside the tailgate and looked around the inside of tailgate i found water must of been getting through the seal and has rusted the tailgate from inside out. Its only a bit of surface rust, but the protection in the tailgate is minimal, hardly even painted, almost just a thin coat of primer offering no rust protection at all. came to bare metal with just a light rubbing of sand paper. I haven't took pics, but will get some later if this is confusing
  17. i think we are all too anal about things the cars we want to buy don't exist, and the sellers can't win. if its low mileage we all say Well its had no maintainence and will all need replacing as its 16yrs old, or if its cheap and needs work, everyone is scared off by a bit of work. Regardless of how amazing we think they are, they are 16yr old VWs and i don't think they are ever going to be worth a fortune, they are wrong-wheel-drive and a ford focus will annihilate them these days.
  18. guess they are getting rare now, not long now before the majority are scrapped or dismantled.
  19. i have been considering getting rid of mine recently but also cannot bring myself to do, for the money there isn't much else i'd rather have
  20. not sure if this will help you, but here is some info and bad photos from when my door got stuck
