  1. tyvek medium these are the ones normally recommended for C's but its hard to keep the inside clean if you're taking it off when the outside is covered in crap I'd like to use mine more but its also a pain to make sure the car is clean (and then cooled down as well) everytime you cover it.. :? shooting the bird sounds better :)
  2. so which one is getting the respray? :) or is that cancelled now??

    D90's How much

welcome :) depends on condition, between £200 and £400 depending on state of them (ie needing complete refurb or mint), maybe less if you're lucky..
  4. do you know something that they're trying to keep quiet?! if not there must be a lot of favours involved for such a giveaway price!! :)
  5. oh, i thought he was in coventry Jon? aren't BJV in MK..??
  6. thats sounds like a really useful list to have on the forum, if you had the time it would be great to have it :)
  7. for comparison, 17x7.5 bbs wheels are et35 which are fine - you're only 1cm out on that and so i would have thought that you'd be ok as long as you're on 205/40 tyres and not rallying? :)
  8. remember talking to you about that at the scorcher or somewhere dom, have u managed to get all new rubber/seals etc? anything unavailable these days?
  9. dont be putting prices on it now Shaun, you've already got Karl excited ;) anyway, you've promised remember!
  10. thanks again for all the interesting info..!! a frequently asked question is how hot is too hot for an oil? at what point does it start to degrade? on high speed runs some of us see temps of upto and maybe beyond 120C. is this too much? if not, what is?! :) cheers John
  11. When you say you have the wrong ones, which do you mean? My old RX11s used to have the silver centre caps (BBS part no. 09.24.487) but these are the same size as the black ones that come on solitudes, rx's etc (VW part no 1H0 601 171 B). Hope that helps..
  12. well i'm not an expert but i know others have mentioned a new water pump and thermostat housing etc too a few people have done it recently, maybe check recent search results for chains etc. i think someone who's name starts mdc did it not long ago..
  13. recon head, fancy manifold, cams (seen you're onto them already!) :)
  14. seem to remember a variety of other pcds being offered here in the past - some people prefer not to run adaptors though.. AND it doesn't often mean they're much cheaper :)
  15. Its obviously one of the weathiest bits of the country so you'll get a lot anyway, but bear in mind the number of top execs all getting driven home at that time of the evening. I used to work just the other side of hyde park, off park lane, and there being so many embassies, hedge funds etc in Mayfair its a constant stream of S classes, 7 series, A8s etc. What you notice is that all of these are contract cars as they have the same licence badges in the windows that minicabs have to have! :) That said though, there are then the bentley continentals, ferraris, range rovers etc. that are all owned by those people themselves. Look out for the valet parking outside the members only restaurants on South Audley Street :) And then obviously then you get the Rollers and the occasional Maybach which are all privately owned but have the chauffeurs complete with peaked cap!
  16. Unless one of them have a car you think you cannot live without i'd much rather buy privately, particularly off a forum like this. More choice, less mark-up, better chance of finding an enthusiast who'll tell you all about the car etc.. There are very good cars around for less than £4-5k, so to talk of paying 40-50% (£2k) premium to one dealer over another seems crazy to me!
  17. never saw this 2nd one! getting a good work out on the first roads! next episode needs to be how much the car rolls going around corners at different speeds! :)
  18. dammit John, get off the fence will you?! :D
  19. lol, left mine in the ignition overnight the other day :? i think either its time or it isn't, and i think you had your share of bad luck with last one Jim, I'd regard it as a good omen! :)
  20. Hmm, yes, came off full beam at midnight on the motorway the other day and realised I had no dipped! Sadly the M40 is mostly unlit so I had to piss a few people off for a while passing them on full beam. Switched to sides and fogs once there was lighting again and thankfully the police didn't check the front when I got pulled later.. :) So need that fuseholder and fuse too!
  21. the guys name is Andy Bryant - Trimwizard.co.uk - great service! £255 sounds good, but then I wouldn't want to underpay for an alarm fitment...

    Head Swop

yandards on here has 16v-d a G60 if thats what you're after.
  23. Just got back to London from Birmingham going swiftly a lot of the way and the temp was sitting around 118. Have worried for a while how hot is too hot - I guess that wasn't too high and I don't do runs like that often, but then its higher than I'd like on a car I want to keep so I guess a cooler is in order.. Getting pulled by the police and my headlights failing on the way back were two slightly more interesting elements to the journey! :)
  24. guys, i may have to leave the forum for a few months if you start talking of such things!! :D
  25. Walesy, although its good that you're staying impartial, does any of this need to stay in his members gallery thread? Whatever the issues it would be great for them to be split off somewhere else (again?! :)) so the thread displaying his work stays being just that. :thumbleft:
